This is how a lot of my hunts go. It's nice just to get out and enjoy the marsh sometimes. Especially solo.

Glad to see this. I do alot of solo kayak duck hunting. Its therapeutic, good for the soul, and so rewarding, especially during the stale part of the season when everything is slow
When your neoprene waders get totally shot do not throw them away. Cut them up and save the pieces to patch other waders. Its actually very simple once you have the parts. Weldwood contact cement. Get it at anywhere.
Use scraps to make a neoprene cover for your coffee thermos. I did and love it.
I moved away from neoprene waders last year. Banded breathables are so comfortable. They are amazing.

Been what in for 2 years great show each time would love to hunt with you guys just 1 time
do the ducks bust you often in the open water? I'm always so worries about being hidden that I don't always set myself up for the best shot. I would never think to hunt with out any vegetation to hide in.
You can easily get away with it during teal season. Mallards are a different situation.
I used to joke when I lived in Oklahoma that we had a”state smell” like a state bird. It was dead skunk on the road because we had it all over the place.

Yes
Those may well be migrator mallards already, I've seen lots of flocks of mallards high as the clouds and heading south already.
Ive been trying to get it thru peoples heads that we haven't had hunting weather like we are about to have in many years. Last spring was nearly a month late and winter is coming a month early like it did last year. We are entering a period of longer and colder winters. Get ready for ice and snow like in the 1970s.
@@mikeries8549 I sure hope you are right!!! Back in the 90's with a three bird limit we smoked em on the rivers when it got cold! We haven't had weather like that in many a moon!
@@mikeries8549 Yea was just looking at the long range forecast for here on opening day on Oct. 3 and it is calling for low 50's for highs and lows possibly down in the 30's. Last year it was around 90 and we had to quit hunting early in order to avoid heat exhaustion from being in our waders in that heat.
I'm definitely seeing a lot more mallards around here right now so hopefully it is a good season. Last year stunk and only got some teals, wood ducks and a couple buffleheads and most of those were not until the last couple weeks of the season.
Another peaceful adventure in the marsh! Can't ever complain about those

You make me sick! I have to work too dang much to be able to scout and hunt. Just heard yesterday theres some blue wings around.
The bwt showed up at my lake about 3 days before end of season.
When we can’t scout we have to rely on past history, water levels, official duck counts etc
Couple more weeks and full on .... Can't wait.
I dont know man, I'm in Ontario and here we normally dont see fall ducks till October and I've seen 2 mergs out for early goose, 6 ringers and 2 blue Bill's out on heritage day last weekend. Its gonna be a wicked season man!!

Great video! You inspired me to purchase the Acend H12 with the blind from Bass Pro Shops. I have watched some of your other videos on the H12, but can you tell me if you build any platform for your dog to sit/stand/lay down in the compartment behind you? I want to put something and makes my dog more comfortable. Any suggestions or videos will help. I saw the video on covering the dog area , but not anything on what the dog stands on. Thank you in advance. John
I put a platform just to flatten out behind me for my dog to stay a little more comfortable and stable
We just added a piece of 1/4 in plywood on floor behind us to make it more comfortable for her.

Are u not aloud to use spinners. That’s the most important part of hunting. We use dove spinners. Their cheap and small look perfect
Where did they go?! Seems way to early and warm for them to head south , Maybe they are on the river
I don't know, We havn't had a North wind for a long time. I heard several reports of the teal coming into the marshes right after shooting time. Must be around but avoiding public marshes. I've thought about checking the river but it's such a commitment I just havn't pulled the trigger on that idea.
