  • Matt is out on a solo afternoon duck hunt with his 28 gauge. It wasn't too long before canvasbacks started showing up and landing in his decoy spread. Matt was able to get his first canvasback limit with the 28 gauge and was able to bag some other ducks as well. It was an amazing day of duck hunting!

    I really love the way you hunt , small spots , small spreads , not a limit hungry killer , but a true sportsman. Keep up the great work

    I envy your variety of ducks. I hunted in the woods and it was Mallards and Wooducks.

    This channel somehow captures the feeling of being out on a duck hunt better than any other. Granted, I mostly hunt solo. Love the B roll.

    i have the same hunting standards as you, not always about the limits, about having fun and being selective even if that means not always limiting out!
    Great Video!

    Great video Matt.. I really enjoy the quality and variety of ducks you take, the gauge of guns you use, and your shooting..... the endings make me laugh as you cover up the lens... great work.. thoroughly enjoy them all....

    Geeze Matt, it's like you went to the duck grocery store and got a cart full of some of the best tasting species! Great hunt! Barry

    Can’t believe you didn’t shoot a drake mallard?! At my duck club in UT, we have 1000’s of canvasbacks in the fall. That is our marquee duck, although our limit can be 7 mallards. What you harvested today, I call the Heinz 57. A little bit of everything. Great day!

      I was hoping to add a little green to the bag. Couldn't complain about that day though

    Amazing video as always. Love how you’re not after big bags and poor shots. You shoot wisely and effectively. What state do you hunt in? I’m in Texas and like seeing other states duck hunting

    Awesome video! As a german hunter I envy you for your variety on duck species, we only got Gads, Mallards and Greenwing over here. However, how come you tend to spare Gadwall? I noticed this a couple of times now and I always forgot to ask

    • @HighPrairieSportsmen
      @HighPrairieSportsmen  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks! Gadwall in my area don't taste as good as some other species. I'll only shoot them on slower days typically.

    What part of the state do you hunt at? I deer hunt in the central part and upland out west. The terrain changes in our great state are pretty drastic.

    I know you probably like the way you hunt but scaring them up off the water is even less ethical than shooting them on the water and I can see why you scare them up if someone is in front of you.
