This was weird. It’s almost like watching somebody self harm. She seems so depressed and keeps saying how awful her hair is, but then proceeds to make it worse and worse - while all the time complaining and castigating herself. Very, very strange.
Honestly, I think what she does is obsessive and unhealthy. Feels to me like she loves the attention it brings her while is satisfies her self-harm urges. I guess she might need professional help not for her hair but her mind.
I’ve read and watched a few mental health research papers/videos on the connection between trauma/poor mental health and hair care/dyeing. A lot of times someone that is going through a hard time where they feel like they are not in control of their life, they exercise control over their appearance aka their hair. They will constantly dye and dramatically cut and change their hair no matter the damage because it is the only thing they feel in control of. And a lot of times people will do it themselves to further hold onto that fleeting power over the only thing they can. It’s actually very interesting and sad in a lot of ways. Obviously, I’m not saying everyone that dyes their hair is in mental distress, but this a characteristic for some people. I mean that’s why we have the trope of the “breakup haircut” where someone is going through heartache, so they try to take control in some way and cut all their hair or dye it an extreme color. Anyways, another great and entertaining video 🖤.
I no longer color my hair. When I did, I either went to a salon, which were great results. During a bad depression or just to feel better. The depression part was scary. Because it made me feel uglier and stupider. Maybe we should have self care phone numbers or text numbers to talk out the pain, not abuse the hair. For a bad result could be more painful?
I used to be that way. I've grown a lot since and my hair is long and pretty now (a direct reflection of my inner self being cared for). Jesus gets all the credit ❤️. He taught me to love myself.
Wow! I have severe clinical depression. Thankfully, I’ve been on a combo of meds, that work for me, for a few years now & im doing well. This is so interesting. I’ve done this my whole life! Fortunately, I had extremely thick hair back then, but now that I’m old & have had Covid twice, it’s gotten so thin I want to cry. I’ve had MANY unfortunate hair colors when dyeing it on my own over the years! 🤣😂🤣 I feel so sorry for this girl. I’ve never messed my hair up that badly! ❤
I can see this. From age of 14 I always had a different colour every couple of months I did myself and drastic cuts. Only 20 years I stopped doing it myself and go to a salon. I still have crazy colours but I don't feel need to be as impulsive about it!
Watching this channel has made me realize I should probably buy myself a couple of wigs if I really want a different color or length of hair for a short time.
We need to normalize wearing wigs. When a woman says "I have nothing to wear" she really means "there is nothing in my closet that expresses who I am today. It is the same with hair. Wearing wigs would help prevent damage, and that damage can really kill your confidence. It's not just hair.
I need to invest in some fun colored wigs. Ive cut most of the damage out of my hair, but I fight the urge to bleach it and have the fun vivid colors. If I had the wigs, I could do all the fun colors, and not hurt my hair.
I just feel so sad for this girl :( It's almost as if she's purposely destroying her hair as a way of punishing herself. And she's so pretty! At this point, I think getting a pixie cut (by a professional!) or shaving her head and keeping her hands off of it for a year would be a good start. ♥

My eldest daughter did this but it was highlighter pink. She then tried to cut it at school with school scissors. She came home, went to the bathroom and I heard the buzzers. Before I could even make it across the house and into the bathroom, she had already shaved half of it off. She went completely bald, and then as it grew out she had the most adorable little pixie haircut. She is almost 30 now and has the long gorgeous, natural, blonde hair that she was born with, but oh my Lord, that child went through some colors and haircuts! She even had a mohawk at one point! Realistically. Until direct dye colour companies come up with a “stain remover” this will keep happening. If I had the means- I’d come up with one. It is so needed in the market.
The color removers for direct dyes do exist, just like color removers for permanent colors do. They are just recommended towards hairstylists/colorist due to the process. Some salons and hairstylists/colorists use them others don't due to cost and patience, etc. I think it's well worth it.

Hun, as someone who has melted her hair before I urge you to let go. Just buzz cut it or even go bald. The hair will grow back healthier and better coz let’s be honest it was thin and sparse. Sometimes holding on is what destroys us. Let go. ❤
I think she ended up going to the professional to fix it. It is dark brown in the last shot and looks healthier and looks like it has been cut again by someone who knows how to do it properly.
It’s overkill hair, lol, bless her heart Love ya Buddha✂️🖤🤍💓 Thank you for your channels, they Rock! *THIS IS PROBABLY THE BEST VIDEO EVER THAT YOU HAVE POSTED TO DATE*
I used color oops about 5 years ago to remove Demi brown dye when I decided to let my white silver natural hair take over. I remember clearly reading in the instructions that it DOES NOT REMOVE those “bright fantasy color). Doesn’t anyone read anymore? She should just shave it all off and start fresh! She has the face for it ~ she would look cute. 😊 I think people sometimes forget that there are really great wigs out there in every style, length and color if you have any events that you know you will be photographed or at work.
Still loving your videos, I thought she would get more emotional after what happened! Watching this during break at work, coworker looked over and say my facial expressions of shock. Asked me if I was okay, said I’m doing better than hair stylists looking at hair fails
My hair looks shiny and healthy with henna, but I don't have the time or energy now for all that mess. I heard that people should do strand tests for henna, especially since different products have different additives that can damage hair. I am glad that your hair is healthy again.
@@catladyfromky4142 Dear Paula, henna is sometimes a little bit tricky! If you apply it in long hair the roots will have a different colour than the middle and the ends. I ended Up with three different unwanted colours and hairstructures in my head. So If you dye your hair with henna, make sure you only apply it only in the roots first and then redye the rest while your rinsing the hair! Love from Doro 🤗
What I would personally do in her situation, I would take red semipermanent dye, mix it with a good amount of conditioner so essentially a very watered down pink dye, put it on my hair for maybe half an hour to an hour depending on how diluted it is, and then the red should combine with the blue to make it purple and purple fades pretty nicely into silver after a few washes and after that fades into the bleached hair again so you’re good to go for a new colour, you just have to know how to play with the colour wheel. I just dyed my hair dark pine green and I am expecting blue to happen, I already have purple dye so I’ll prolly just use that cause I don’t mind a periwinkle moment ;) as long as you follow colour wheel you can stretch out bleached hair for a loooong time it’s great
Weeeeee!!! Lmfao !!! Is she doing this for more views??? She knew what the outcome was going to be!!! She even said her hair was already dead!!! She knew that by putting more products on her hair it would just get worse!!!
I don't get it ... she knew her hair was semi-dead already ... she had to cut it before, so it doesn't look as dead ... She LIKED THE COLOUR!!! and I think it suited her well enough, it matched her blue eyes ... WHY?! If she wanted a change, I would've gone for a blue-based/similar to blue colour, not even trying to go lighter in color ... but search for a colour, that also conditions the hair ... and just put it above! She could've sticked to it, she could've gone dark blue, she could've done purple, green ... she had so many options ... Why did she go for "How to kill your hair"? Somebody explain!
I wish people that change/dye their hair often would just invest in different wigs! There’s so many good/affordable wig options out there these days that are even already styled and in endless colors! Just seems like a more healthy and fun way to change your look frequently!! ❤
As a teenager and up till finishing university I LOVED having different styles and colors in my hair. What I did to make that affordable was to go to my hairdresser and offer my head/hair to the hairdressers in training. The owner had a couple trainees every year and they always needed test objects to try things. As I was pretty open to experimentation I got shuffled around between all the trainees. (Obviously the two lead hairdressers and/or special teachers for the trainees always checked first if what the trainees wanted to try (and that I then acted like I absolutely wanted to have so that they could test whatever they wanted) would a) be possible on my hair, b) wouldn’t damage my hair and c) wouldn’t cause them to lose my services for the next several years. Everything they tested on me was free of charge. If you’re trying to test something different every couple months do ask at the local salon if they have trainees that you can offer your hair to.
I went through this at 15. I hated the high school I was in so I wasn't happy. I was always fighting with my mother. I was so unhappy. A change of scene on a summer vacation across the world had me not even thinking of my hair. I was so happy to be away from everyone, and my hair grew back fast. Sometimes you need to make or get a change in your life.
Thank the good Lord above I never melted anyones hair after 22 years of doing hair!! I retired after being tired of people pleasing constantly......and now, I'm a HR supervisor, STILL PEOPLE PLEASING!! LOL

HB...watching your facial expressions is priceless. 😊 I feel badly for her, but if she had watched even a couple of "how to" videos, she might have known to leave her hair alone for awhile and let it heal.
Sounds like that was more of a bleach wash than a color remover. I'm amazed at how many people who have no idea what they are doing will insist on doing their own hair...and filming it. Lol
My hair is naturally brown. I went to have my gray covered at a salon, the girl ended up bleaching my hair. I knew something was wrong while it was happening because it hurt so flippin bad. Burned. They just kept telling me I’m fine. I cried the second I saw myself in the mirror. So much hair fell out, bald spots, scalp pain for 6 months. I was embarrassed to leave the house but my scalp hurt to bad to even try n fix the color. It’s been a year and I haven’t been back to a salon. I’m scared. My hairs about 2 ft long now, my new growth is about 6 inches and I look like a freak if I try putting it up. Hair sticking out everywhere. My gray.. just yikes!!! I’m not even sure what to do because I’m to scared. Right this minute I can’t afford a $250 hair appointment… just sucks all around. I’m way to young to have all the gray n dang your hair makes such a huge difference in how you feel about yourself…. What can a girl do… lesson learned
I hope you can find a nice hair salon! Definitely look to places in like urban malls which is usually where I find nice hairstylists since they are a company they don't want to get sued
If you're still looking for recommendations, loreal colorists sells gray root covers that work like a hair spray, they cost around $15 and can usually be found in department stores or pharmacies. For the hair growth itself, Lee Stafford sells some great products that focus on scalp health and they're around $25, I can personally attest to their effectiveness for hair growth. I hope this helps
You can fix this with a Demi permanent with 3 vol to fill the light parts with a red orange color and then after they are filled a brown Demi permanent with again with 3vol and it will be much more even. I recommend shades eq bc I know they have good grey coverage and their processing solution is the equivalent of 3 volume. Shades actually normally adds a lot of shine. 16 years of doing hair here 💙
I left regular hair color on my thick hair for too long, every time I wanted to cover my gray. One day it came out in chunks and my once too thick hair became see through in the light. I deep conditioned, used leave-in conditioner and got regular hair cuts. Never used heat and reduced shampooing. It took 2 years for healthy hair to grow back in. It's 10 years later and my hair is thick and healthy again. You will get your hair back, you just have to be patient. I used Henna powder to cover my gray back then, because it's the least chemical on the market. Good luck!
Good day, Hair Buddha! I just recently subscribed to your channel, and I want to thank you for your expert guidance on how to avoid making awful blunders when we decide to dye our hair ourselves. I've also changed my hair color several times in the past, going from black to brown to red to blond all within the space of a month, which left me with stringy, dead hair with split ends. Wish you were around for me those days in the past. Once more, many thanks. Continue your wonderful work. From a little island in the Mediterranean, many greetings!🌹
I would never bleach my hair... I love it too much to destroy it, and some people have no idea what they are doing , go to a professional and let them do it beautifully. I care a lot my hair and treat it very gently, especially now even more when I lost all my hair when I was diagnosed with Cancer three years ago ,although it's grown back very slowly, it's a bit thin because of the treatments I'm still having. So please ppl don't say it's just hair 😩.......Go to a good Salon. I love watching Hair Buddha's videos and I'm learning so much with he's advice and tips and the way he perfectly explains the different do's and don't's ,he always puts a smile on my face ☺ when I see he's expressions and how emotional he can get. Hair buddha you are a wonderful professional, I wish I lived nearer cos I would definitely go to your Salon .Thank you so much.
I have to say- I liked the dark hair on her...she has such pretty blue eyes, that pop more with the contrast. She just has to leave it alone. Her hair is very fine. Even finer than mine and I thought that to be impossible. If you want to grow out your hair...stay away from bleach! A toner is the most I would do. No heat, no harsh styling. I personally don't get why people dye their hair a fashion color. It looks nice when it's done well and when it's fresh and vibrant. But it's very high maintenance and most people get tired of it. Then you must bleach the already compromised hair AGAIN to get rid of the remaining pigments...it's worse than just having to rebleach and tone a "natural" blond.

Hun, as someone who has melted her hair before I urge you to let go. Just buzz cut it or even go bald. The hair will grow back healthier and better coz let’s be honest it was thin and sparse. Sometimes holding on is what destroys us. Let go. ❤
It will grow back thin and sparse! But yes, nonmelted.
For someone who just blindly whacked their hair off, I think it came out pretty good. She looks good with short hair 💙
I think she ended up going to the professional to fix it. It is dark brown in the last shot and looks healthier and looks like it has been cut again by someone who knows how to do it properly.
She did have a pretty face and can wear the pixie..thank goodness for her
I’m sure I should watch these to learn from others mistakes and hear the Hair Buddha’s wisdom but I find once I’m here, it’s always for his reaction!
I love ❤ hair Buddha he's such a genuine guy so so nice such a sweet soul
I've been watching this channel for a while but this is the first time I've noticed the extent of your tattoos-they are so cool!
It’s overkill hair, lol, bless her heart
Love ya Buddha✂️🖤🤍💓
Thank you for your channels, they Rock!
I think people sometimes forget that there are really great wigs out there in every style, length and color if you have any events that you know you will be photographed or at work.
You have the best personality, I wish I could work for you.
Still loving your videos, I thought she would get more emotional after what happened!
Watching this during break at work, coworker looked over and say my facial expressions of shock. Asked me if I was okay, said I’m doing better than hair stylists looking at hair fails
I know exactly that "FINE SECTIONS" is screamed at least once XD
🙈
It looked great short and blue!
I feel so sorry for her! In the past I had a real hairfail with henna. It took me three years to grow my hair back again. Love from Doro
That girl was already bold in the back at the beginning of the video!
She is depressed and looking for change in her life through her hair. We all have done it
I didn't. Was never depressed in my life or destroy my hair.
No not all..
“I’m trying to stay calm. I hope I don’t get mad, I hope I don’t cry. “ This is my new motto for every day. -merch idea lol
I love it, when you watch the video, have a reaction of your own and Hair Buddha says JUST what you were thinking yourself 😂😂
Its Fine Sections Friday!!!
😻😻😻😻😻😻😻😻
Love ya Hair Buddha, Thank you for all that you do. 😎😍😎😍😎😍😎😍😎😍😎😍😎
I love watching your videos....
The squeaky toy sound kept my dog entertained throughout the entire video!
I had longish hair and it’s natural color is a boring middle brown. Curls, not very tight but definitely always visible.
LOL
Lol I watched this video a few weeks ago and was literally yelling the same things you are at her! 😂😂😂 I love your channel SO MUCH!!! ❤️ ♥️ I've followed all of your Instagrams and tiktok too!! ❤️
HB...watching your facial expressions is priceless. 😊
I feel badly for her, but if she had watched even a couple of "how to" videos, she might have known to leave her hair alone for awhile and let it heal.
When she roughed up the uneven lengths, it actually looked good. It had volume and interest.
That black, though, ugh.
i just got done putting in blonde streaks in my mom's wig lol turned out good. Your gorgeous Buddah !!! :)
Just love your reaction hair Buddha poor girl she should of watched your videos first thank you for another great video peace and love ❤
She has such a beautiful face. She could do a very short professional cut.
I love her accent
Loved the advice...wished she listened to it for future
After looking at your vidéos, I decided to go evry time to an hairdresser for my colours 😂
You are so passionate. I love your reactions ❤
Sounds like that was more of a bleach wash than a color remover. I'm amazed at how many people who have no idea what they are doing will insist on doing their own hair...and filming it. Lol
And posting it.
I guess it’s a trend. Post yourself being stupid and bask in the attention.
16 years of doing hair here 💙
I agree use a demi yourself just do research.
Good luck!
I’m with you HB, if I like something. I don’t change it 😆✌🏼
I think she looked better with Black - and the cut seemed ok!!
"I cannot promise I will not get mad" 😂😂😂
I love it when he gets to laughing
I am so glad I clicked on this video!
Thank God she has a beautiful face.
What I've learned from watching Hair Buddha videos:
don't do your own hair!
And how much I should appreciate my hairdresser!
I'm a hair stylist and you hair Buddha are funny af !!!!! I am lmao 🤣
Du brauchst kein Glück, sondern Verstand!!!😳😳😳😂😂😂
Good day, Hair Buddha! I just recently subscribed to your channel, and I want to thank you for your expert guidance on how to avoid making awful blunders when we decide to dye our hair ourselves. I've also changed my hair color several times in the past, going from black to brown to red to blond all within the space of a month, which left me with stringy, dead hair with split ends. Wish you were around for me those days in the past. Once more, many thanks. Continue your wonderful work. From a little island in the Mediterranean, many greetings!🌹
You make me laugh sooo much!!! 🤣
Thanks for the video Hair Buddha❤️
The brown was ok. If she cuts her hair like Mia Farrow in Rosemary's Baby, she would look amazing.
Omg i have seen this girl jack up her hair before omg shes still at it!
HB, I love your shirt!! 🥰
A nice sunny Sunday afternoon in the UK watching your videos eating custard creams and a cup of tea 👍
Beautiful blue hair ! Wonderful colour ! I wish I have one ☝️ colour like this ! 👍👍👍👍👍♥️
She needs a wig she is nearly bold at back
All i got to say is WOW 😲
As a Blackwomen, I like Buddha videos, because he is fair with the Bleach deal..thanks Buddha 🤣
No one cares if you’re black
Buzz it be strong 🥰hair grows.
It never ceases to amaze me at how many people post themselves destroying their hair.
