I watched the KI tournament at NEC on team spooky's channel and the whole time I was thinking...."Wow Max would have destroyed every single person there....easily." Max I know you said you're going to that weekly tournament but I can't wait to see you wax those asses at one of the major ones.
It is always a sign of a good game when you can't blame the game for your deaths. Those games usualy end up the ones I play the most. For example, I liked InFamous. The character always did what I wanted it to do. And for example of a game that doesn't always work like it should and you end up losing because the controls get screwy would be Assassin's Creed series (bit better on the 4th game thou).
This Instinct mode seens quite similar to the Overdrive mode of Blazblue Chrono Phantasma: every character have their own and gives different mechanics to some moves.
That is the counter for combo breaking a shadow move. Since each Shadow move hits you five times, if you press the corresponding punch and kick when being hit, you can combo break the shadow move

Breaking a shadow move requires you to do the same for the combo breaker, only pressing the respective punch and kick 3 times when hit.

Wow this game looks Beautiful. The music is sooooooo fucking awesome. The game also looks super hard to play.
