The guy was supposedly arrested for false reporting, but he didn't make a report. He staged it to look like there was a crime, but I don't think that what he did actually constitutes a crime.
It doesn't. What he did is basically a really elaborate and morbid prank. Not illegal in the least but definitely agitating to authorities.

In my state, we have a false information haux law punishable for 5 years to life in prison. What he did would have gotten him locked up for a long time.

1:24:10 this is the key right here, and most of these stories seem to miss when it comes to life after divorce or a big breakup. We can't rely too heavily on others for our own happiness. No need to find a rebound right away and chase the "happily ever after" dragon.

These men don't deserve cheating spouses, but this was one dumb plan. If anything, it victimizes the woman and forces hi to be on the run like some common criminal. She the cheater won in the end, kinda.
