Great video. Great wrap up summary at the end. Now I'm interested in seeing your other cooking videos. Thank you for spelling out the names of dishes. It helps those who would like to look up recipes. Keep up the great work.
Love your videos Wah, quality and effort is amazing! Perfect timing for my upcoming SoCal trip! I would say waat is like silky/smooth. All the food looks freaking bomb, so excited to try! Feel you in the flavor fatigue, I’m the same way! ❤
The chi mui soda sounds so good! I’m from Hawai‘i so I always look forward to lihing mui lemonade or soda. Also I didn’t know that Weylie is Chinese-Vietnamese! 😊
Omg I didn’t know Alice’s Kitchen opened another location! Definitely gonna check it out for the HK vibes 😌 but thank you for sharing these restaurants! I live in the 626 so excited to try out these restaurants you’re showing us!
Wah, I may or may not have gone to 2 of the 3 restaurants you recommended the day this video was posted. Hehehe! DELICIOUS!!!! Thank you! PS. This is Kat, ran into you and Weylie at Motto Cafe one random Sunday. So kind and sweet! Good luck with the new phone choice!!! Make the switch to the dark side.
I just visited 626 area last weekend to see the new 99 ranch :) & dim sum! Already looking forward to our next visit, definitely going to try these places!
Banh xeo look bomb. Fish mint is so good with it. Everything else looks amazing as well. I was born in Nha Trang, VN and it's beautiful there and the food is really good.
Great timing! My parents and I just got back from HCMC and HK a couple weeks ago but I’ll be taking them to these spots when I visit them over Thanksgiving. Love HK style cafe, banh xeo, and BBH!
Oh boy your back home....great to see your beautiful faces again totally awesome folks....Happy Thanksgiving. GOD BLESS YOU BOTH....❤❤❤😁😁😁🙏 WOOF WOOF HUGSOOOOO
Something, I have had trouble finding. In my youth in hong kong.. One of the dishes I ate the most at the street side restaurants. was Chicken wing, pork chop in instant noodles. But when I goto traditional restaurants, The chef cant make it and If I want to have that taste again, its order the 2 dishes separately and just add it to a instant noodle bowl. $30+. I'm going to give Alices Kitchen a shot tomorrow to see how it goes.
Try Golden Deli if you like Tomato Pho. They have other good pho too. I think Golden Deli is one of the OG Pho in the 626. We lived in Playa Vista and we drive all the way there to get their Pho! Also, YAMA sushi in the same block is awesome too- BOPOMOFO is in the same plaza (try their boro bun with Taiwanese chicken, it's bomb)!
On point about the flavors when eating Vietnamese food. It's why it is my favorite cuisine! Confused tho why there are mushrooms in the bun xeo. An original one should not have it. 🤔
I LUV Asian food, and would love to explore some of these restaurants. howver, as a non-Asian person i get the uncomfortable stink eye like 'why are you here' look. The comments at 15:30 mark tell me I'm right?
canto translations into english always so hard T_T I always described "waat" as smooth too and it would confuse the hell out of people 🤣maybe silky is a better description
I've tried to eat st banh xeo Quan for nearly 2 decades. Every time I've gone, lights off, doors closed. I check business hours, call, etc. Nothing. Even the times I've driven by, closed. I'm convinced they closed. I go down to the oc for banh xeo.
Waat in English can be "silky" or "silken." Not sure what 626 you are talking about, but it is hardly peaceful during weekend days in all of the 626 unless it's night or early morning.
Please do more of these videos!! I personally would love to see a collection of all your favorite restaurants around LA :)
your content is different, and I actually enjoy the whole video to the very end! keep it up brotha!
Dang Wah, when did you get so good at pronouncing all the names of Vietnamese food?? 👏👏👏

I agree, Nha Trang's Bun Bo Hue is sooo good! 🤤
More recommendations based on different themes please!
everything looks so good!! also dont know why i flinched when the pork's blood flew out of the chopstick after wah was applying so much pressure 😹
Do you have any recommendations on things to do in 626? 😅 so many food options but need to fill the time in between meals with activities!
brb gonna fly to cali to try these
Waylie is soo pretty!!!!!
Miss 626 😊
The Nha Trang in Monterey Park is the original! I would recommend going there than the SG one (I believe they're no longer affiliated)
Me if I was a guy Wah would be my spirit 😍🙌🏻
any dim sum restaurants you recommend?
Five star!!!
You gotta hit up Tasty Pot, City of Industry
On point about the flavors when eating Vietnamese food. It's why it is my favorite cuisine! Confused tho why there are mushrooms in the bun xeo. An original one should not have it. 🤔
You should try making your own banh xeo! it's not too hard and cheaper at home
I think the term you’re looking for is silkie? Haha at least that’s what I use
Agree best Bahn Xeo!!
Hey wah,
Just curious.. how does Weylie feel about eating meat again?
More videos like these!!!!!
thank u for not gatekeeping
Would Silky describe it instead of smooth?
Bad idea to watch while hungry 🤤
Wow u r ballin
Make sure you’re staying on top of your health Wah, as you eat all this yummy food for a living 😋
Have you guys been vietnam? ❤
What are your favorite boba picks?
I LUV Asian food, and would love to explore some of these restaurants. howver, as a non-Asian person i get the uncomfortable stink eye like 'why are you here' look. The comments at 15:30 mark tell me I'm right?
Just like tau foo fah, the more waat the better.
canto translations into english always so hard T_T I always described "waat" as smooth too and it would confuse the hell out of people 🤣maybe silky is a better description
glossy/slippery/smooth/silky almost all need to be used in conjunction to adequately convey the meaning 😅
I've tried to eat st banh xeo Quan for nearly 2 decades. Every time I've gone, lights off, doors closed. I check business hours, call, etc. Nothing. Even the times I've driven by, closed. I'm convinced they closed. I go down to the oc for banh xeo.
Do orange county!!!
Silky !
"Silky" could be the work you are looking for.
Waat.. maybe Velvety.
Waat in English can be "silky" or "silken." Not sure what 626 you are talking about, but it is hardly peaceful during weekend days in all of the 626 unless it's night or early morning.
haha yes agreed, but compared to the rest of LA it is
its actually duck blood
I'm from North Carolina
滑=silky
We ordered takeout from Alice's Kitchen TC for dinner and food was atrocious.
I could see that happening
I don't like any of that food you showed in this video.
