I like that your demos keep in mind the audience the gear is built for, and you actually give plenty of time to hear the real sound in context, great vid
Sick! One of the things i love about HOF is it still retains the doomy feel but also has a layer of aggresion that sets it way ahead of sleep-who outside of one song bore the hell out of me. Another banger from DID/NEW!
Great demo! Wonder how this would fair again Matt Pike's signature pedal, the Rabid Mammal from Black Arts Toneworks. Seems close to me from your run through
@MetalHeadProductions True, it has a kind of boost section that takes it from fuzz right to Pike lol. Well worth it to try if you ever come across one. Thanks again for the demo
It was weird to hear, "...old school High on Fire tone," because despite being a fan since their first album, I still consider them to be a relatively new band. 😄
I have a BD on pre-order dropping tues. Thanks for making this pedal happen Steve! Metal Head, thanks for the further demo and can you expand on that awesome axe you are using? SG shape, metallic fingerboard, P90s in the bridge PAF in the neck? Whats the specs on this guitar?
The in mix of the riff in the out of mix? Cause the in mix is a cool track I wrote, the riff in the out of mix is a high on fire song called snakes for the Divine.
Life V3 is more versatile since it has boost, octave and dirt each with it's own foot switch. Something to consider depending on what your looking for.
Well they're pretty different, this is a preamp not a distortion/fuzz. The life pedal is going to be more for that drone thing, and this can be used in all sorts of contexts. I'd personally go more for this because it's not that massive droning sound, as much as I do like the life pedal.
@@MetalHeadProductions Awesome thank you! I have the life pedal and ordered the Baghdad today. Once I receive it will see if I can justify keeping both.
@@bobbyspassov663 you'll see they're both pretty different, but both great for what they do. You hook this up to a power section and you have a rig all on its own.
I love the idea of all these pedal manufacturers crafting different pedals that specifically craft the iconic tones of various artists. But what the hell is up with these price tags?! I could buy three solid pedals for the price of some these and use them craft the tones of multiple guitarist. Not knocking Does it Doom because their pedals are great but the price.
@@NihilNoviI absolutely understand these reasons. I don’t understand the consumer spending the money on one pedal when the user could emulate several tones by purchasing multiple pedals for the price.
This is priced about right for the market, what this and how they're made. If people want something like this, which is more niche, produced in low quantities by a single person by hand, then they also expect to pay a bit more for it. I personally don't think the price on this is unreasonable at all. Also, they might be able to buy a couple of boss pedals, or say a few ehx, but those won't get them this specific sound at all.
Thanks for the awesome demo man! Some crushing riffs and tones going on. Glad you liked it!
Thanks for the kind words, man
I watched a bunch of vids and this is the one where i finally said yep I'm gettn it. Thanks you guys!
@@dirktucker77 awesome to hear, glad you dig it and enjoy the pedal, it's killer.
I love the fact that so many iconic tones are now offered in pedal form. This one really seems to nail that signature Matt Pike sound
Oh yeah. I agree. And this isn’t the only time Does It Doom has done it, too.
I like that your demos keep in mind the audience the gear is built for, and you actually give plenty of time to hear the real sound in context, great vid
Great demo man, you got some of the best on here.
And this pedal sounds fkn killer, can’t wait to get my hands on one.
I get the feeling this would make a really cool old school grimey death metal sound too.
Oh for sure
Perfect for that absolutley
I can definitely see it, yeah. Especially with something like standard B tuning for the guitar.
Top Demo. Mines ordered.😀
Yep, that's the sound all right
Recieved mine today. Thanks for the demo. I came back for getting it dialed in. I'm a noob.

Well the Rabid Mammal is a fuzz, not a preamp, I haven't actually gotten to use one yet so I can say how close they are or not.

@@randye4586 thanks for watching and supporting the channel! And yes, I would love to demo his fuzz one of these days.
Just chiming in to say that I would love to see a Rabid Mammal demo from this channel-or anything from Black Arts Toneworks, really
I need this asap
Are you calling me a sap?
wonder how this compares to the soldano slo pedal with the baghdads matamp circut at zero
Not sure but that pedal is better as a distortion, not so much as a preamp, so idk how much they'd compare anyways.
this is what im wondering too, im not even really into the whole doom metal style but as soon as he said sp77 circuit i got really interested.
It was weird to hear, "...old school High on Fire tone," because despite being a fan since their first album, I still consider them to be a relatively new band. 😄
Haha, well they did start 25 years ago

That is a warmoth body with a aluminati neck. The bridge pickup is a prails and the neck is a phat cat from Seymour Duncan
Ordered mine. Interested to see how it takes an overdrive and how it compares to an actual Soldano. Subbbed
Takes an OD great, and thanks for the sub!
Bro what was the opening riff you played?
The in mix of the riff in the out of mix? Cause the in mix is a cool track I wrote, the riff in the out of mix is a high on fire song called snakes for the Divine.
@@MetalHeadProductions you always have the best demos man 🤙🤙🤘🤘
@@millenial_falcon dude, thank you, I try and really appreciate that
Snakes would be from the Rabid Mammal. Good demo.
it's probably my favorite high on fire riff and I like playing it, and it's from Snakes for the Divine
You gonna try out that new ehx pedal? I need a demo from someone who isn’t gonna ride the gain super low and play uninspiring blues licks.
I'd like to for sure
I could really nail some of those soldano sounds without the soldano price.
