JD Bonded is very nice, despite being ~$65 here in Norway. Not that many bonded whiskeys around here.
Can't comment on the EH Taylor, since it's not available over here, but I sure want to try it.
I was not very impressed with the JD Bonded and was very surprised when it won Whiskey Advocate's whiskey of the year. The EH Taylor, like most Buffalo Trace products, are in my opinion good to very good at MSRP, but above that fail to live up to the hype. I am going to try these two later on tonight side by side and see if my opinion changes. Cheers!
Had both imo EH Taylor I found to be sweeter caramel forward , I enjoyed both.
I like seeing you take a sip after you know what it is. Maybe you should do that more.

I'm fortunate enough to get the EH Taylor in Pa for less then $40.00 before tax. Since there is a new distributor for buffalo trace products, we in Pa have seen most of their products more frequently. Quite nice. Son and I had been searching for EH Taylor in particular for a couple of years and have has good success in recent weeks acquiring it.

Recently found an EHT around here for $110 and splurged since it was one of the bottles that got me into whiskey as something to save for an upcoming event. Then two weeks later the new distribution dropped and I was able to get 2 more at retail (missed out on the rye just barely grrr).
I cracked one since I had a backup and was very underwhelmed. Its good, but its MSRP good, and not worth the hunt. Looking back it was the EHT single barrel I picked up that blew my mind, and as of yet those are still rare around here. I got more enjoyment gifting one of the extra's to by buddy who got me into whiskey than I did from drinking it.
They do make great gifts, that's for sure! We've still yet to own a single barrel ourselves but have tried some and results are varied. Hoping when we finally do get a chance to get a single barrel that it's a good one.
Unfortunately finding the EHT where I live is impossible at retail prices and I ended up paying $125 for one. Certainly not ideal, but when you suffer from shortages in your area to find bottles sometimes I will give in.
EH Taylor Single Barrel is where it’s at….small batch is fine.

I was lucky enough to pick up a couple of EHT Small Batches for $40 each at of all places my local Walmart. Definitely prefer it to the JD Bonded, especially when the EHT is only $10 more. I also agree EHT isn't worth much more than $50ish. The JD is a fine product for $30, but I haven't bothered to get any (aside from a pour at a bar) since I already have too many bottles 😅

I don’t know the results yet, just hit play. I’m guessing the JD will win, at least for Josh. But I think the EHT would win for me. Have both, may just have to try a BIB blind fight.

I prefer the jack here. Just more my profile and i like the price better. Taylor is fine but im not sure id replace the ones i have. Id probably buy another jack bonded

I tried the jack daniels bottle in bond, and got the smoke and oak smell, and taste, and i would buy it again. Never tried the e h taylor, because its a little outside of my price range..

EH Taylor small batch is $49.99 near me and JD Bonded is $29.99. Prefer the EH Taylor.

Most of JD stuff is good above #7...especially the barrel proof. Bonded is good for the price. EH Taylor is great at MSRP (if you can find it at that price. $90 for EH Taylor in my area...PASS!
Taylor blows away JD Bonded for me…will wait for the JD 12 yr or compare to the Colonel! 🙏

JD Bonded is more to the level of Eagle Rare to me. EH Taylor is a notch higher than Eagle Rare.
Interesting. We’d put Eagle Rare over both of these, but it also really depends on the bottle of Eagle Rare.
I also think Eagle is always better.
