That was a great video. So glad we spent time with you folks. There were a lot of great memories made. Looking forward to our next get together where ever it may be. It was a real treat hearing Joe play live. Be safe in your future travels.
Thank you! It was great being together and getting to know you both better! We’ll be making some summer camping plans over the winter, let’s plan on meeting at one of your favorite Virginia state parks!
Yes, it was sobering, an unimaginable amount of soldiers and casualties on both sides. We will have to make plans to spend more time there. We are so glad you are enjoying our videos, and we love watching yours as well. 😊
I bet Gettysburg was really interesting . I've never been there Sounds like the bus tour was a great idea. It's to bad you had rainy damp weather. I also am a fair weather person. Rain really shuts down a camping trip. I wonder if there are any other state parks not to far from there.
Yes, it was interesting, and we might have to plan another trip there to explore more thoroughly. There are several private campgrounds in Gettysburg, with the closest being Gettysburg Campground. Two other state parks are also about a half hour away, Pine Grove Furnace SP and Cunningham Falls SP. we might try one of those if we go back.
We do Gburg a LOT (used to live there) and have made friends w/ many of the good youtubers who cover the battle ( Aaron - "Forward Gettysburg" / Josh "History Savior 1941" & James "Project_Past") Deff need a good 4-5 days to see a good portion of the battlefield / Museums / Shops / Restaurants. it can easily turn into a foodie / wine trip there is also new museums (the WW2 American Experience Museum is a must see) and FOOD Mr. G's Roadhouse (food truck) simply amazing / Mason Dixon Distillery great food amazing drinks. you deff want to brush up on the battle before going to better understand it, and look up your state units and if they fought there and make it a point to visit those spots/monuments Plus the Antietam Battlefield is only 1 hr away and worth a day trip there
Thanks for all of this great info, we’ll definitely refer to it when we make a return trip! We have visited Antietam several years ago, it was incredible. Thanks for watching!
Great video
Thanks, Tim! 😁

Gettysburg is a very sobering place. We are trying to get our travel plans to go back there next Spring. As usual Debbie and I loved your video.
