Thank you for sharing the casting failures. So many people only show the successful attempts without showing how much work they put into getting to their success.
The collaboration i never expected but completely enjoyed! Also i saw you're a man of culture and a gentleman for sending kinder stuff and aceto balsamico :)
Love the fact that you left in the trial and error that comes with metal casting in the video . I work at a Metalcasting Company and a large portion of my job is just that!
LuLz - that recasting process. Nice, very nice. We've all been there, Aluminum dissipates heat so quickly it's difficult to cast in sand over large areas like that.
Wow - I can't even find the words! I am a Nerdforge fan and thought I would meander over to your channel to see some cool aluminum pouring. I didn't realize how much work goes into casting a single metal piece. You are so skilled at SO MANY things! Sketching, wood(?) working, mold(?) making (so fascinating I watched that part four times), metal pouring, all the finishing work and all that sanding - my gawd the sanding you have to do! I am seriously impressed and fascinated. Thank you for introducing me to this art form!!! (my apologies for not using the correct terminology)
Wow, I opened TH-cam, and I saw your thumbnail. Afterwards I went by chance to the Nerdforge (I' m also subscribed to them) and I saw a metalic cover...and I was like : wait a minute ......hahaha . What a coincidence.
Holy carp, you just got a new sub, you have some really interesting content on you channel, glad you worked with Nerdforge on this one, otherwise I might not have found your channel! :) 💜
Really makes me feel better to know even pros can take a couple attempts to get their casting right! Do you recycle the aluminium from the failed casts?
These are not professionals, but rather amateurs. When using gypsum and clay instead of pressed cardboard and sand, there will be no unsuccessful attempts
I got a notification from need forge about an aluminum book and not five seconds later got one from you about the same thing and my mind instantly started spinning like what in the world, this is insane! Now it makes complete sense 😂 It's just so awesome, I'm a huge fan of both of your channels so watching you guys collab is pretty surreal. Wholesome content my friend 😁
You do some really nice work. I used to be in the Society for Creative Anachronism. Met a lot of people who also had the skills. Thanks for posting this video,, I'd never seen the casting process before.
Putting a vent hole in on the far side across from the sprue will help the melt spread throughout the mold. Speaking from experience as someone who tends to pack the sand too tightly. Nonetheless, excellent work!
daaammnnn that was such gruelling work... but wow such a work of art, a beautiful end result ✨✨✨✨✨ you, sir, are a MASTER craftsman. yalls are unique dope creators and we could merely dream of creating the things you create & build with your own hands... bravo to your invaluable expertise & knowledge, good sir... bravo to you 👏👏👏👏🙌🙌🙌🙌✨✨✨✨✨
Okay so you want a book cover... what kind?... oh something heavy duty... okay I can do that. (Turns it to 11 plus one full turn past) here is the book cover. Hell yeah! That’s metal af
Buon lavoro!
I came here from Nerdforge to watch the making of the cover first. 👌🏼 I like the style of your video and the cover looks amazing. (Now I'll go back to see the finished book. Have a nice day, bye 👋🏼😃)
That's pretty cool. When I saw that you planned to cast it I was thinking how on earth is he going to cast something that thin. But you managed. Nice job.
Fantastic work! But, as a friendly suggestion, please use protective equipment! That will prevent you from getting hurt and will also incentivize others to protect themselves. Hope to see even more material from you!
This was an amazing build!! You both did the aluminum justice! You have a new sub here. To be fair, I'd heard of your chan before but at the time I was not interested in metalwork so I never subbed. As time has moved on I've become more interested in it but I had forgotten your name but not your chan and thanks to happening upon NF a month or so ago I've now got 2 amazing new channels to watch!!
Don't forget to watch what Nerdforge made of it! It's here: th-cam.com/video/I3LU2biF2x0/w-d-xo.html
Thanks!
I subscribed to her channel. She makes amazing projects that came out of a fantasy world.
@@advancix I know, right?
Bellissimo video, ma mi chiedevo se fossi italiano?
You really like those guys if you sent them so much Kinder stuff.
And Nutella buiscits too xD
@@ericstorm8277 you better believe it

I came over from Nerdforge. That was impressive and interesting work. Thanks for sharing this with us .
I live in a bad neighborhood, I need one of these to carry with me all the time.
Hell yeah! Conceal carry bludgeons!!
That there is illegal.
Get an iron clad bible :D
Watch Nerdforge it adds a lot of weight😁
@@iamone8282 it's made out of aluminum.
When "why not" is reason enough.
Looks amazing though , looks like something out of a Lord of the Rings or Elder Scrolls series.
A union of two craftsmen, could only give birth to a beautiful work of art. Complimneti to both.
The collaboration i never expected but completely enjoyed! Also i saw you're a man of culture and a gentleman for sending kinder stuff and aceto balsamico :)
This is the book john wick used to kill with
You are ohne of the few TH-camrs who shows his casting falls. Kudos for that. 👍👍
Oh I assure you, if I got slapped with this work of art I wouldn't be complaining
I would be unconscious but I still wouldn't complain because of how beautiful it is.
Ahahah!!!
@@BlackBeardProjects Make it happen, I'll draft up a waiver!
**(insert Yui being happy because she got slapped by a 20k bill scene here)**
Love the fact that you left in the trial and error that comes with metal casting in the video . I work at a Metalcasting Company and a large portion of my job is just that!
Came from the Nerd, stayed for the Beard, that was awesome, you rock dude!, :D
very nice. work. came over from Nerdforge. sub to you.
LuLz - that recasting process. Nice, very nice. We've all been there, Aluminum dissipates heat so quickly it's difficult to cast in sand over large areas like that.
It's great to see both sides of this project. From start here to finish on nerdforge.

Great job buddy! I will use this technique in my projects!
Just watched the Nerdforge final piece. There must be a filmmaker out there who can use it as a key prop in a storyline 👍🏻
Very nice Design and work. I'm very Impressed! Can't wait to see the finished product...👍👌😃
What I mean finished product is the book mounted inside your Beautiful Arted Cover.
Wow, I opened TH-cam, and I saw your thumbnail. Afterwards I went by chance to the Nerdforge (I' m also subscribed to them) and I saw a metalic cover...and I was like : wait a minute ......hahaha . What a coincidence.
I've been making molds for years and I learned some things

Whaaattt!?!? Awesome! Looking forward to see it! 😍😍😍
Thanks man!!!
Really makes me feel better to know even pros can take a couple attempts to get their casting right! Do you recycle the aluminium from the failed casts?
I think he remelts it into ingots for later use but i was curious of the scraps on the steel ones to make doorknobs or something
These are not professionals, but rather amateurs. When using gypsum and clay instead of pressed cardboard and sand, there will be no unsuccessful attempts
This is a good thing to appreciate for changing good change
Your buzzer effect made me laugh out loud! I'm sorry for the frustration, but well done - the book looks beautiful.
Great work. Love the idea of see you guys work together!!
The sound effects in this one were great. Keep up the great work!
These worked out so great with their project! Great craftsmanship on both sides!
Потрясающие работа будит интересно увидеть что будит дальше.
I’m sure I’m not the first to say this but this is like ASMR and I’m loving it. So calming.
Don't sell this to Latin moms, think about the children

Thanks to @Nerdforge, I have found your channel and I'm so excited to watch all of your videos! =)
Love it how you made the cover. Love also that you showed it isn't like everytime first time right. Like the design tho.
That was very cool to watch. 👍
OMG ~ THAT WAS 😎 ~ BUT YOU NOW HAVE SHOWN ME HOW TO MAKE A VERY SMART MDF BOOK COVER SET WHICH I CAN THEN COVER WITH LEATHER ~THANK YOU!!

LOVE your accent, AND the copper cuff tutorial! Do you have any more copper ideas? I love making jewelry from raw copper!
Very nice done! Watched also Nerdforge, the collab was great
Do you re-use the scrap you cut off from your successful cast (10:47) or melt down your failed castings?
That poor table has been put through so much. It's amazing it's still in as good a shape as it is.
Very interesting project!
This is amazing! I love seeing the different steps a craftsman uses to achieve a beautiful finished project! I'm subscribing!
YES! I love Nerdforge! I want to make their Pepper's Ghost library. I was originally gonna comment that you were cutting in on their thing! lol
This is the second time you've collaborated with another channel that I'm also subscribed to, but for completely different reasons.
I love casting videos, keep doing them!
Beautiful job 👌

Big thumps up for the persistence during the casting. I would have probably thrown the whole bucket against the wall 🤣

As they say, never judge a book by it's cover!! Nice work, love it.
now that's what i call a hardcover book!
Now this is what I call hardcover
I have an old Bible that could use a new cover, might do something like this😄
Great video 👍
Most impressive 👍🏽
Looks like a great book..
Well that's just lovely.
It was cool to see the bloopers in there. I feel like we don’t even know the true Blackbeard
That is way too kool!!
You cast it horizontal, plates must cast vertikal. Otherwise it will fail to often.
That's pretty cool. When I saw that you planned to cast it I was thinking how on earth is he going to cast something that thin. But you managed. Nice job.
That's awesome
I could fell the emotion from the slap at 10:22
