It is good that you try to do it by yourself but some crucial things must be done otherwise you are damaging the piano. You have to invest in a good tuning hammer, at least 150$. There is a reason why some tuning levers are around 1000$. Then you need to know the technician how to settle the pins, so they can stay in place - this is a combination of much practice, studying, and a very good tuning lever. Then you can not tune with a tuner. This will damage the piano - in piano tuning, this is called the inharmonicity of the tuning. You need to invest in good software that can do that - at least 300$ and some are even more. The paid software must develop the tuning curve of every piano you are tuning. Then you have to know what is unison, after you tune in with the software, you have to do the other strings of the tones by ear, because the technology can not recognize what is unison as good as the human ear. And then you have to have enough practice so all the unisons you make are perfect and equal.

So she’s not supposed to damage the piano but she’s supposed to throw away the piano.
