I grew up setnet sockeye fishing with my family near Pederson Point, a little closer to Naknek from Graveyard Point. I was up there just about every summer 1975-1995. If we'd had digital cameras and GoPros back then, it would have looked JUST LIKE THIS. Setting the gear over the stern of the skiff; sinking new screw anchors at the start of the season; stacking nets; pulling nets; fish scales all over your face; being really REALLY tired. Thanks for sharing this video. It brought back a lot of great memories.
This is a perfect video to show my friends and family the industry I was fortunate enough to get into at an early age, I’m 16 and I just finished up my 4th year in Egigik
right on echohawk!!!!! i caught me and stevie at your skiff with rico weldin it up!!! ha! what a cool treat!!!thanks bro's!!! dwayne-----'ricobilt' first mate. see you guys next summer!!! Peace......
Loved it! I spent a few weeks working for a set netter in 1985 in the Cook inlet near Soldotna. We didn't have the nicely partitioned skiffs or that sweet roller to pull the nets over. We just muscled em into the boat and stood up to our hips in floppin fish till we got in. Great video!
Hello, I really enjoy watching your video, I was wondering what program you use to edit your video... also, how do you speed up some of your scenes and leave others alone? Thanks in advanced
Who are you guys? I recognize all of that. I think you're fishing with my old friends and possibly on my old site. It looks like our cabins went to Davey Jones Locker!
