Dig the Golem. It reminds me of the Moonchild. Sure there's a risk (like letting the Golem be in the final 3) but you stand to learn a lot if you're not afraid of spilling a little blood.
I'm like 20 videos in on this channel and still pining for an episode where Edd is evil. He always needs to be nerfed as a good guy, I want to see his full powers unleashed for the dark side muahahaha!
I’m curious why the Golem’s ability is not “The first time you nominate…” That would remove the possibility of player error (of the kind the Butler is susceptible to). Is there a downside to that alternate take on the Golem?
A good player who can’t nominate would be a liability for the good team in the late game (for instance, if the final three is a spent Golem and two evil players, the evil team has already won), and I think that’s an important aspect of the character. The Golem is an Outsider after all - they’re supposed to have a harmful effect on the good team.
@@blazedestin One exception: Philosopher with the Golem ability would kill the virgin, and then be executed. My bucket list now includes witch-cursing a virgin-nomming philo-golem so they die, kill the virgin, and then get executed.
They can't be the role "drunk" because that's an actual role not a status effect. They can potentially be poisoned which can function kind of like a drunk, but why would you poison your own demon or depending on the story teller if a sailor drinks with the demon they could potentially be status effect drunk for that day/night cycle.
@@devilsrule0635 there are plenty of reasons to poison your demon. Force a sinking of a kill or prevent a star pass, both of which I’ve seen happen and work.
@@Astraogical it's always interesting when evil targets their own demon. NRB made their demon mad at the very end so he couldn't implicate himself. I guess I was thinking poisoned at the very end like that, not strategically mid game.
Nothing would mechanically prevent say, a Sweetheart dying making a Demon drunk. It would be an awful, terrible, abysmal, unplayable piece of shit game if a ST did that, but it would not break any mechanical rules. Ministrel also drunks the entire town for a day. So a Demon can 100% be drunk or poisoned, but cannot be the Drunk player.
It seems the honor system is not needed for the Golem, on most / all scripts. They confirm as Golem if they kill, and should not be allowed to nom again. If they don't kill, and nom again, oh well. They got lucky (or poisoned), and still have to convince others to vote for the apparent demon. It's easier to get others to nominate than to push a vote through. And on the final day, why not let them, anyway. (An inherently problematic rule should be neutralized. As ST, I would still try to penalize Golem's team, though. I don't care for the character enough to ever put it on a script.)
I like the placement of the Golem in the script, under the Saint. It’s about to fly away.
Ben at 30:00 is delightful. The meeple hype is real
Another entertaining game... Thank you, Ben and everyone!

No song with Golem in it?
The Pokérap beg to differ
Chris wanted to preserve his poison victim with the draw. But being the golem not doing it would have forced a poisoned rubbling - almost got costly!

Good call. And here’s a game that demonstrates Golem as liability to the good team: th-cam.com/video/sn8WsA_-KFE/w-d-xo.html
Love the Golem!!
ah yes the reverse slayer
Golem have songs in English and are from NYC. Really good band actually 👍
I liked Ben a lot until he said he likes Folk Metal.
Now I like him arguably too much.
So what happens if the Golem nominates the Virgin? Would they both die?
Virgin does not proc on outsiders. Virgin dies, Golem does not.

There is also the Lunatic role, who thinks they are the Demon but might think they are drunk for a night if something like the Sailor is in play.
