This video is about hardy water lilies. The edges of the lilies here are smooth, and the root systems has small rhizomes. Tropicals have a serrated edge. You can propagate tropicals from the leaves that have started sprouting new plants.
Oh yeah I think I know the ones that you are talking about. I'll see what kind of options they have at the hardware store. I have a plastic trashcan which I believe is also about 50 or 55 gallons
Bro I got a 3,000 gal 3x14' pool I got 2 bass, 2 crappie and 2 brim in and I just set minnow traps/crawdads for feeding and they're actually driving. However the water is so murky with just the pool pump so I bought a submersible pump as well. I'm waiting on mt lily's from Amazon to arrive since our Lowe's sucks lol 😂 any tips bro? Also I feed them goldfish since they seem to live longer than the cheap minnows
Nice that is a huge pond! My advice to help clear up the murky water is to build a large DIY pond filter. I built a new one for myself not too long ago. Long story short, the bigger the filter you can make, the more bio media you can fit inside (in my case I use lava rocks) and the more beneficial bacteria can colonize inside your filter. Pump must be on 24/7. Eventually the beneficial bacteria will out perform the algae for nutrients and your water should start to clear up. Here is a video on how I built mine th-cam.com/video/9Mhe57-N4Kw/w-d-xo.html
Nice video bro! So good to hear that you go for a diy filter. I will watch it for sure! And you know what give me a shout out now that I'm at 100 subs buddy... I'M A AQUAMIGO, yeah lets go!
In my own experience maybe your water lettuces didn't have much light source or your area is a bit colder or something. I have my water lotus planted in sand and its quit beautiful growth but I did not see him flowering thou.
Yeah I think what happened with my water lettuce is that they took longer than expected to get delivered and they still haven't been able to recover fully. It's also been kind of cloudy where I live lately. The flowers are so nice! I've seen mine flower in past years and it's so cool!

Awesome video. I have a tropical water lily. Looks like yours. Thanks.
Good video
Thank you! 😄
This is very interesting. I always learn something new from your videos. I can't wait to see how to build the diy filter.
Thanks so much Michael! I can't wait to do the filter either. It will be a learning process for myself as well haha
Lily's look like there really gonna put some cover in there soon. Looking good. Set the bell for the upcoming mods aguamigo...⛲
Yeah! I'm hoping I can get some good coverage! and thank you for hitting the bell fellow Aquamigo! 🙌🙌
Great video as always man!

@@TobiasHolenstein You welcome :)
I would recommend a 55 gal drum barrel they are really sturdy and fish safe

I can’t call your pond a success… And these lilies are looking weak too.
