Having grown up at the museum, hearing the new one coming (and the old one closing) is as heartbreaking as it is exciting. I have to say, this announcement and the sketches so far are quite inspiring- thank you for taking such a thoughtful approach to creating a new museum ❤
Excited for those who are excited for this. I am not one of them. I can only base my opinion on what information has been released, and these rough sketches do little to inspire much optimism. The sales pitch sounds really good, yet the resulting output currently leaves a lot to be desired. While images of the Silurian Reef convey a real improvement to an iconic exhibit, everything else appears as a watered down version of the current format. Consider this my opinion, but it seems this museum is largely abandoning what put it on the map and what differentiated it from other institutions, instead emulating the majority. Change and progress or improvement are not mutually exclusive concepts; sometimes change is just change. Hopefully this vague sample is not exclusively indicative of the final product. The name of the exhibit also seems like an odd choice given that it does not effectively communicate the subject of the exhibit. Where's the reproduction of the DeLorean or the Tardis??
Nice! Love the vision so far.

Great to see Blackberry Hill fossils included. Trace fossils are so often excluded but they are really important in the story of life.
This looks pretty good so far!
I am so looking forward to the Sloth Exhibit...
I just hope the entire museum isn't walking around looking at videos and cartoons.
1/3 of the size of the old museum? Probably. I'd have liked to see the museum increase in size not decrease.
