- Hamas has given its initial approval of a U.S. backed proposal for a phased cease-fire deal in Gaza. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is set to hold consultations on Sunday as Israel aims to end the war and free Israeli hostages. Hamas moved forward with dropping a key demand that Israel first commit to a permanent cease-fire deal before it would sign an agreement.

You mention that Hamas wants to remove the time limit for phase 1. This means they didn’t agree to the deal, they want to keep phase 1 as long as possible to rearm while still keeping hostages
