The assassination attempt on Former US President Donald Trump sparked a security scare. A man was shot dead just two blocks away from the Republican National Convention (RNC) venue. The police recovered two knives from him. In a separate incident, the police arrested a man with an AK-47 pistol. The suspect was trying to approach the RNC venue. Meanwhile, a poll has found that 4 out of 5 Americans believe the country is sliding towards chaos. Palki Sharma tells you more.

As someone that has a degree in environmental health, and started my education with a law degree in mind. I was deflected into the world in 1968, as I was drafted into the US Army, The climate is changing, as it has always done. Where I live, some 30 miles inland from the Atlantic Ocean, I can did a hole in my yard to expose a sea bed of what once was the ocean floor. Proof that the oceans once occupied the land now used to for homes, and farming.

Neither is USA any Republic where elected men vote the final laws. We have an oligarchy at the top; the SCOTUS, which can erase Republic laws & substitute its own (read 9th Amendment). So far as I know, no nation in history has ever been a democracy where the people vote the laws, even to the extent that the city of Athens was.

I do not understand US security including private security. When Trump was attending court he would arrive with a number of vehicles both before and after him. I assumed that this was his private security as attending court was a private matter. If so, where were these people on the day of the shooting? Secret Service, Dept of Homeland Security, Local Police or what ever these are called all seem to have areas to protect at a rally. Would Trumps private security have any operations at the rally?
