I had never heard Ba ji quan of Akira when I found this game. I learnt Zui quan of Shun,tang lang quan of Leon in this game too.Not only 3D graphics but also complicated marshal arts very impressed me.
How do you perform Akira's reversals in Virtua Fighter 2? I know the inputs are GbP (for highs), Gd/bP (for mids) and GdP (for lows) but how can you pull those off in the heat of a match??? 🤯
Lots of practice for sure and knowing your opponents patterns. It was as you said, the commands are G, then B+P for highs and mids, and G, then D+P for lows. Not every attack can be reversed, like spin kicks, flip kicks and somersaults, double handed attacks and headbutts.

I trained in this style for 1 year just cause akira was so badass.

You need to use Stun palm(G+P+K).
You do reveral after thrown with the Stun palm.
