Music is a form of expression. The expression of emotions, ideas, opinions and sensibilities of the creator in sound and melody. Sincere expression of emotion is internally for the benefit ond agenda of the creator.......NOT FOR THE LISTENER. It may be directed towards a targeted audience but it is something the creator wishes to get off of his chest or out of his mind.....even if it's just simply musical notes and tone. If the attention of listeners is captured then that's the bonus ....... shared appreciation or a response either positive or negative is success, if that's the intention, to the artist or creator. A separation of politics from music is usually an opinion shared by people who are not artists and offended by what the artisan has created. Politics, religion.. whatever is fair game to the artist. Always has been....Always will be. The subject matter is an expression of the individual. Could you imagine the Vietnam War Era without songs like Chicago, Ohio by CSN & Y. Or Volunteers and Mexico by Jefferson Airplane. What about the absence of Southern Man by Neil Young. We would never had had the response by Lynard Skynard in Sweet Home Alabama. Imagine John Lennon never writing Imagine. The songs weren't written to guarantee the approval of the listener. They were written to express the emotions of the artist.

TBH i was sick of hearing Comfortably Numb in concert, usually the last encore, but this opening (like many others have said) was just out of this world, so loud, so clear, so poignant, i saw the show in Nashville, i could have gone home happy after that first song

You nailed it there David...
The Wordsmith.. 10th December 2015
Us poetic wordsmiths produce something that is a form of art.
Some will argue that our creations are just poles apart.
But we don’t use things like oils, pastels or acrylics.
We use letters of the alphabet to form a verse or singers lyrics.
We can arrange them to form words both good and bad.
Some to make you happy and some may make you sad.
Depending on our frame of mind at a given point in time.
We can mingle letter into verse, song, poem or rhyme.
Now an artist can have their paintings framed and hung upon a wall.
A lyricist puts his to music and can be played at some venue or grand ball.
But us creative writers don’t get the same acclaims.
Many may not come across our work, let alone know our names.
But we all have the same train of thoughts that are visions in our head.
an artist picking what colour to use, while we choose a word instead.
The finished article may not lead to what we first expected
But we alter and refine our work, like an artist does, till it can no further be perfected.
We are inspired by certain images, happenings and events.
Some producing laughter while others the anger it truly vents.
Hopefully when you read it you can sense the writers train of thought
And if appreciation is shown it means the imagination has been caught.

@@charlierobertson7784 RW must remember which versions of these songs made him a multimillionaire, and what fans paid big bucks to hear. These timeless classics were at sometimes unrecognizable.
Hypnotic, epic opening and concert.
I was honored and a little stoned when I saw this concert. Nothing could compare.
Yes. That. It was that good live. So lucky to have seen it at the time.
Saw the show last night in Philadelphia. Walked right up the box office with a local bud, dropped $150. 50ydr line up, section 118. INCREDIBLE show! the graphics the musicians. this rendition is TopShelf. seeing RW again in DC in 2 wks. 🙏🏻 🐖 🐕 🐑 🎸 💗
What does Roger Waters think about war in Ukraine? Ukrainian people is suffering Russian agression!!! Russia ties to kill us ... Ukrainian old people, women, children. Unfortunately, the great musician is mistaken if he considers the Nazi authorities in Ukraine to be to blame. Nazis are not Ukrainians, a real psychopath and Nazi Putin! Where is that Roger Waters whose songs I always listened to with great pleasure? Where is the Roger Waters whose citizenship I have always admired?
Russia is trying to kill us!
Wow
I was there same section. Absolutely amazing!!
TBH i was sick of hearing Comfortably Numb in concert, usually the last encore, but this opening (like many others have said) was just out of this world, so loud, so clear, so poignant, i saw the show in Nashville, i could have gone home happy after that first song
STREAIGHT UP.../MADE ME CRY
I saw Sir Roger Waters 1998. What a Konzert! Great! Love forever!!!!
Wow Roger, just smashed it.
Going to the show in Orlando... Can't wait! And looking forward to it even more now seeing this! Thanks!
I imagine that every fool in Florida will walk out of the show.
@@kevinelak3575 Yeah…no. Enjoyed the show on 8-23-22 at FTX Arena Miami FL. 🌴🎶
Esto no es una canción, es una obra de arte!
Wow! Nicely done!
You sir have regained my respect.! After the Us and Them nonsense I was very reluctant to buy a ticket. I love this version of Comfortably Numb.. Very haunting
This was the best concert I have ever been to
For sure. I’m still going back & re-watching it. I went & saw The Who a month later & just couldn’t get as emotionally entwined. Definitely the best concert I’ve ever been to. 🕊
Great show. If it made you uncomfortable in parts, it was supposed to. Great art can sometimes make you feel uncomfortable. Roger Waters is one of rock's geniuses.
Wow never disappoints Roger is Brilliant
I seen him on a solo tour in the early 2000's
At pine knob in Clarkston Michigan. It was awful. He only played 2 floyd songs. Very disappointing
Oh, he disappoints alright! I had tickets for The Wall in Manchester. Had the tickets for at least six months before the date of the show. Waters cancelled shortly before it was due to take place due tom'unforeseen filming commitments.' To add insult to injury, we never received any refunds. I hate this guy.
Oh man, I wish the tour will come to Brazil again this time. We need Roger.
Saw him in Philadelphia last night, besides being a great show,it made me want to be a better person.Waters is a true humanitarian.
Was there as well. Brilliant
Was there as well. Amazing

Just saw this tour last night. Incredible.
WTF.....................I've always loved Roger's music and lyrics, this version of Comfortably Numb just shows once again that he's a master, goosebumps
wtf he indeed is making me mad for being an absolute genius of a person!
thanks for posting
Gracias desde Uruguay!!!!!
Fantastic!!!
Brilliant!!!!!
ROGER WATERS ... I will love YOU and your MUSIC forever !
I went to see Roger Waters at the Crypto Arena 9/27. I'm still in awe today about the show.
I love Pink Floyd since I was a teenager ( 48 now) , but my conviction I’ll always be with RW ! Good show.
Роджер гений, гений, гений на все времена, жаль что комунячего склада, даже не знаю что делать с этим, автор на века, я вырос на этой музыке, слушаю и смотрю, моё сердце на разрыве
Spectacular!
I am going to see the closed circuit show on the 25th, hope i get as good quality sound as this.
Hahaha very ballsy and genius of Roger to open with Comfortably numb sans Gilmour's famous guitar solo. Brilliant. It wasn't necessary - we all imagined it as we heard the song.
Using Comfortably Numb in the Intro provides another implication- all of us The Sheep, are comfortably numb with the system created by the Elite Pigs and run the by the Dogs.
@@JohnParker-cm1eg I don’t think so. David is not the issue here. The tour name implies something- This is Not a Drill !
@@JohnParker-cm1eg I'm guessing Roger thinks a little bigger than that.
