Andrew is right: a “dark room” is for touching, not stand and model. And I also like wandering. A good club will have a variety of spaces for different moods and comfort levels of the patrons, not all one thing. You need dark corners to chat up a hot guy, places with chairs that are a little quieter for rest, not all loud dance floors and crowd pressure.
Love you, fam! Seeing just two girls at the party brought up a question for me. Are women generally not admitted to male bars and events in Japan and greater Asia? I'm genderfluid, and in NYC and Washington, DC, I often went to hard core men's bars/events. Admittedly, I was often one of very few women attending, sometimes the only woman, but I was always welcomed with open arms. Perhaps being tall, athletic/muscular, and androgynous put the guys at ease--everyone did their thang (their _whole_ thang) without reluctance. Would going to "men only" bars/events be inappropriate in Japan and make guys uncomfortable (which I have no desire to do)? I'm guessing the answer is "yes."

Even then I went to men's bars (as well as women's). I almost always went with a cadre of men, so I'm sure that made my presence more acceptable. 😉

I don’t know if it’s just because you were doing the party that it’s a new format. But I like the new upbeat format. My husband and I are gonna do a cruise or we hit all the ports in Japan. Japan and Asia as a whole are more conservative and behind the times when comparing the LGBT scene against the United States and Europe and thus it is no surprise that Andrew was disappointed in this circuit party. For me going to the Circuit Parties in Asia is on my bucket list for many reasons. But for Andrew I would recommend places such as San Francisco, Denver, Houston, Chicago, New York, Boston, Atlanta and Washington to name a few where your expectations would be met all the time, every time. Clubs like Manhole, The Eagle and many others that would be heaven to you. Meng on the other hand seems very well in Tokyo but I would recommend a trip to New York, Chicago or Seattle just to get a taste of how things work over here. Glad to see that Japan continues to make progress these days. I am very happy for them and most of Asia for that part.
@@quidproquo82 Well Andrew might like the circuit parties in the US but I was referring to cities that they should visit, not circuit parties. The only party I probably would recommend in the US is fire island otherwise for the rest I always thought they were overhyped and worthless.
I miss parties and clubbing. Sadly it has been made very clear that heavy mature guys aren't welcome where I live. (Sweden) As a teen there were all ages, shapes and sizes in the clubs. So it's a fairly local and recent post internet thing. I don't experience it abroad. The Swedish community needs to check themselves.
Sorry to say but it is age. That's why you are tired. In my early 20s, I was partying like 4 to 5 days a week. No wonder it took me 10 years to finish college. That time, in my city in Brazil, the gay scene started to get stronger and we would have a different party from Tuesday to Sunday. Then, in my 30's, I was going out only for the weekend, most times only once. But it was a time that I was producing a party with some friends. So I had to get there like 10pm and would leave after 7am most of the times. So it was work and not partying.

Disagree .... US circuit parties are so ghetto nowadays. Low quality production. Europe is pretty high quality though.
