We got the companion pass with this same promo in 2018 from Southwest. I highly recommend if you plan on traveling, they fly to Hawaii too!!! To book a flight with your companion I recommend calling southwest. They can do it over the phone and its a way easier process IMO.

As a European, I am so jealous of the travel credit cards from the USA and Canada. We only have the Amex KLM Flying blue and regular Amex. Without flying with that we have accumulated almost 280,000 points in 3 months with our KLM Amex. Good enough for a few return trips to North America. :-)

It most likely won't happen again for a few years - super rare when they do this! You can earn it by flying a crap ton of flights on SW but that's fairly difficult to do

I know the offer has expired, but I'll still comment. The companion pass for this offer is only good for one year, until Feb 2024. If you earn the pass with getting 120,000 the old school way (or doing sign-up bonuses), your pass will be good for the rest of 2023 AND all of 2024. It's still a great opportunity, but not as good as it gets!
Nate, how do you recommend reaching the “qualifying purchases” responsibly? We would never spend $4,000 on a credit card in our daily life in three months. Our goal has always been to keep money off of the cards. How do you earn points and have a million cards without living in substantial debt? This has always been the deterrent for travel credit cards with annual fees. Interest and fees are scary.
That's only $1.4k a month. Most average Americans can spend that. Use the credit card for all your expenses: rent, food, gas, shopping... If a card has an annual fee, just cancel the card after the first year. All you want is the sign up bonuses anyways

This won't be as lucrative outside America. Americans live on credit card debt, that's why companies can offer such good bonuses.
