    Good sharing! I am a resident in UAE and I am married in Philippines. Can I file a divorce in UAE even if there is no divorce law in Philippines?

    I have read the new law and it seems that it also does not recognize the concept of 50-50 split in divorce (community property) in which assets are distributed after the divorce. If all secular nations in the world have this law (with slight differences), why does the new civil law of the emirates not recognize it? I know Islam doesn't recognize it but technically the law is secular, soo

      Thank you for your comment and interest in the channel. There have been changes in law and now couples can have agreement in writing and regulate different questions including assets and how the property might be divided in case if divorce as an option.

      @@legaloneuae7469 yes but the community property is not by default. I mean, in Canada for example if U don't do a prenup, community property is by default. That's what I was saying
