This is a great release by buck. This tics so many boxes. And it’s a great simple design. Nice run down. And since you asked, im a basic itch and stuck in the 2005 and coyote/FDE/bronze is my life.

Buck is one company I just can’t think of as making more than fixed blades and back locks. I know they have a pretty expansive catalog, but I scratch my head every time I see a Buck liner lock or other type of knife. I guess it’s the knife version of being “type cast” lol

Personally, I think every auto should have a safety switch. Just imagine in advertently bumping up against something and the blade to poison your pocket. That’s something I never want to experience. I’m a believer in safeties on flippers too…. Color wise, I prefer the bronze over the gray.

  • @Hungrybird474

Nice looking slicey blades from Buck , awesome 👏. I seen you said you couldn’t get one of your manix 2 to close all the way . I had the same problem 4 weeks ago and cracked the pivot and two screws above , not loose , just crack em and the blade will swing freely . Same kind of issue but reverse problem I had with a kershaw launch 1 would bounce on deploy so tightened the pivot and porn solved . I am far from knowing everything but those two things work for those two knives .

In comparison, this Buck knife took me to the Sog Zero One, it's also a new release for 2022. It appears to have a similar drop point with the same casket tapered handle toward the but end of the knife that you described with the Buck, while sharing the same clean esthetic appeal, something to consider although its like a $60/80 difference in price. Would i carry this Buck auto, definitely! I would be more inclined on the full blade in the Sniper Grey. I can appreciate the Bronze but lean more to the Grey. Sweet looking knife! Enjoyed the review as always! Thx! Enjoy your wekend.

It looks like Buck is stepping their game up with these models. But they still can’t seem to get a plunge grind figured out. First sharpening and your stone is going to run right up it and create an ugly smile. They are good looking knives though I really like that bronze color.

I believe that our fascination with automatic deploy knives harkens back to the movies of the '50's where we watched actors deploy Italian stilettoes on screen. At any rate, being a resident of "Taxachusetts", the legislature, in their eternal wisdom have decided that we don't deserve the same rights that everyone in many States that surround us, are entitled to, so it's a moot point!!!
