Man, crazy to think how popular the Sutros have become. I posted on Instagram the night I bought a pair back on Feb 19, 2019, and I remember people telling me how ugly they were. Now, all those people are wearing them. Its all I can wear now while out on the bike. Bravo Oakley.
Love my Jawbreakers so much, I ended up buying the Prizm Low Light replacement lenses. They work very well, aside from the ghosting issues they present on pretty much every source of light (headlights, taillights, etc).
@@Ken419_ There's not much to say. They do what they're supposed to do and are clear enough to let you see in darker days. But they have an issue with artificial light sources (read: cars, bikes, etc), known as ghosting, which means you see the light source and up to three reflections of said light source that surround it. It's not a huge deal, but it is relatively distracting. It may have to do something with the shape of the lenses the Jawbreaker frames use or with the Prizm coating, as the stock Prizm Road lenses also present a similar, albeit far less pronounced, ghosting issue.
I just got the Flak 2.0 with the prizm lenses. Very nice indeed. Crisp view. Very clear. I got screwed out of the soft case though and was only given the black cloth bag. Shame.
JogBird it’s better that way, It’s different from decades ago, nowadays Asia in general have better manufacturing factories, more on-site engenders and skilled workers than USA, it’s better to just let the USA factories to assemble than manufacture the components, well at least the assemble parts can get them the “made in USA” sticker.
$150usd for two piece of plastic molded in Asia. Name brand glasses have to be the most mindboggling markup of all apparel. You're basically paying for all the global marketing (biggest $$) and a USA based HQ that employs all the various administration teams.

I love my Sutro glasses with Jade lens. I also have a Low Light lens. and Road replacement lens which I interchange. I’ve also just ordered the 24k lens. The lens is not fixed in the frame at all and popping it out and replacing it is super simple. Replacement lenses aren’t that widely available so I believe that Oakley prefer to have us think that we need to buy a whole new pair of glasses if we want the different shades of lens.
I have +4.5 diopter varifocals, I can use fixed lenses to see my computer or the road ahead but not both. A pair of £5.00 clear glasses from Halfords and I'm sorted. They go over my varifocals and hold them steady. And I get a pair of safety glasses.
I have an off-topic bike tech question, I hope you don’t mind if I post it here. I’m just getting back on the bike after nearly 10 years of not riding seriously. Will any of the new gps-based bike computers work with my old Powertap SL wireless power meters? Or do I have to invest in a new power meter if I want to use one of the latest cycling computers, like a garmin or wahoo or lenzyne (sp?) etc. Please help.
Sunny day, dappled tree cover, holes impossible to spot with the prizm lens... Wish I’d kept my old positive red M frames! And the yellow lens was the dogs breakfast for dark days! Another triumph of marketing 😬
Okay, so I just helped TH-cam by rating this video. And I gave it five stars. Not life-changing or anything, but it's Ollie. And how could I not give him five stars?
Hey GCN. I love your videos. But when and how are the winners drawn? I've seen some drawn on the GCN show. But you should put more details in the video description. Thanks.
PSA request: What are the sunglasses that are causing all the facial injuries during crashes, called? nvm, turns out they're these ones, Oakley Jawbreakers.... well named it turns out. See Fuglsang's TdF crash .
th-cam.com/video/2vBN5F_gGY8/w-d-xo.html Ouch. That does look like it could have been teh glasses as the blood is streaming from a spot that the helmet would have protected under normal circumstances.
For those who wish to use jawbreakers but can’t for lack of RX inserts, well I found an rx insert on eBay that fits inside the jawbreakers PERFECTLY they’re called ESS P-2B safety glasses Rx insert. I haven’t put RX in mine yet but like I said they fit PERFECTLY.
@@fast.biking_freddy apparently can't see through my current glasses how 8 frames in sub-subcategory are "all over" and if any of them are specifically cycling ones. So if you want to purchase an e.g. dioptric Jawbraker through the designated tab, there is no such way.

Sorry, but Aliexpress has better sunglasses for dirt cheap. Those days are over with and nobody wants high priced sunglasses or Apple phones anymore. Five years behind the times in cycling.

I love all the detail Oakley puts into its glasses
The sutro looks amazing...(And they are obviously key to win TDF)
Come for the sunglasses ... stay for the moshing ... leave for the disco 😁
I have 2 pairs of Sutros, one with the low light lens. It's obviously not the cheapest way to go about it, but they are so cool and comfortable!

Andrés García elaborate please? I’m interested in purchasing said lense.

I have the Sutro. Great pair of glasses! Only downside is that you can't change the lens.
Nice! Looks like great coverage.
I have Sutro and you can change the lens 👌
Hey. One can change the Sutro lenses. You can change if you wish/or interchange!
The Sutro’s and larger lens sunglasses are perfect for my big head 🎃 🕶👍
Ideal!
Oakley was bought out by Luxxotica a few years back and now make their stuff in asia and only do final assembly in the USA (snapping things together)

I love your videos you have got me into road biking
Awesome, glad to hear it!
Thanks, Ollie, still a big Oakley fan am I. And lol, Sutros are good for disco. And good for watching Mama Mia on date night, too.
Oh, i was looking to buy the tdf edition.
I rock the Flight Jacket Prizm Snow for road riding. For the looks, obviously.
NICE!
love it! never go wrong with black. good job oakley! tnx GCN!
Nice presents. Good luck everyone. Thanks to Oakley and GCN!!
Cheers Richard!
I was thinking of getting low light jawbreakers for the cx season but after entering this I will have to wait
Got the photochromic lenses and they've been great.
Man, I'd love to get my hands on those! Can correction lenses be installed on both models though?
They also have deep water and shallow water prizm depending on where you choose to fish so you can see the fish better.
Ollie you are hilarious 😂, I learn about cycling while laughing when you present something. Keep it coming 👍🏻
Nice one Julio!
They're awesome. I've been looking for some decent moshing sunglasses for ages!!
Oakleys are beautiful. I’m in!
The Sutro look massive!
Help me choose: Oakley Sutro S or Julbo Rush? (Non chromatic)
I will love to have the Jawbreaker !! The style of it is amazing 😎😃🙌
Those Oakleys Rock ⚡️
#askgcntech I love painting Oakley sunglasses 😎💛💚💙💜❤🎨🕶🕶
So these are better than the 3M safety sunglasses I ride with?
Nope
Hmm so how many "watts" can you save wearing them glasses ?
Are Roka the new Oakley? Will the Race Jackets get a reboot or are they custom for Geraint?
Have you given them away
that's a nice giveaway. wow. one of these days i'll win something, maybe even a race. great show!

Can you do a 2020 specialised bike review? Maybe the Allez for us beginner riders!
Afraid we don't do reviews on GCN!
A few hours before this video was I released, I just bought new custom jawbreakers...
Ooft, which ones?
GCN Tech bought ones that were full white except the icon carrier and icon. The icon carrier and icon is blue and I have a photochromatic lens.
Those jawbreakers 😱😱 just wish Oakley did prescription sunglasses. I can't wear contacts.
Martin Linnett They do! Even the jawbreakers. SportRx does prescription sports sunglasses

There were really four pairs, weren't there?

Jawbreaker or Flight Jacket?
Love the jawbreaker i want it to pair with my bike
Love the giveaways, but I have enough pairs of Oakley shades to keep me going for quite a while. Good luck to the lucky winner...
? Of course they do! We announce them in the GCN or GCN Tech shows.
You can keep the glasses. I just want the case for my banana storage (that's not a euphemism by the way).
🤣 hack!

Unfortunately I do not like the current design of Oakley glasses - espacially I don't like these giant spectacle lenses.
Each to their own!
Yeah, i agree. I dont like those big ole fat glasses. Flak, M2 or radars's for me. Those huge glasses make you look like a knob.
oakley now lacks of a good Photochromic lens
uomorana71 I have a pair of the supposed photochromic jawbreakers there useless on interchangeable light conditions.
great video
I don't like the big logos on the Jawbreakers.
feels good
Jawbreaker really good glasses
I don't think the three winners are going to actually use the jawbreaker. No one wants to scratch that beautiful piece of eyewear.
