      Glad it was helpful, Nastassia. I often ask myself why not more subscribers, too...TH-cam is tough, but people think it's not real work! Anyhow, thanks for the message. Best.

    The term “touch” has absolutely nothing to do with touch sensitive faders. Think of it as “touching up” your mix. The real point of touch auto is that when you move the fader (or change another input) then let go, auto returns to the previously written state. Automaton has zero to do with external controllers. And unfortunately, Studio One’s automation implementation is decades behind the times. I seriously can’t believe people aren’t incensed about this.

    How do i move multiple curves between points?

    • @quantaaudio
      @quantaaudio  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      There's only a couple of ways that I personally know of... The first would be to click hold and drag to select the range of points/curves you'd like to adjust, and then use the trim tool to adjust them. Shown here: th-cam.com/video/aiMyWfvGuMQ/w-d-xo.html
      Or, you can active the transform tool (found as the last option within the paint tool drop-down menu). While it's active, click hold and drag to create a yellow box around the points/curves you'd like to adjust, then use the small, box-like handles that are found at the center top and bottom (and corners) to make your adjustments.

    could I panning the midi notes in editor?thanks

    • @quantaaudio
      @quantaaudio  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, you need to add a tab for panning to the parameter automation lane within the editor. I show how to do that, here: th-cam.com/video/vkFTOmLhvnk/w-d-xo.html

    Hi,
    Is there a way to control multiple envelopes via a single envelope (to assign multiple envelopes to a single one)?
    E. g. I have 15+ inst. tracks (orchestral VST instruments). Their dynamic parameters should be almost same. But, each track/channel has its envelope for modulation (dynamics). When I want to create a crescendo, I have to copy/paste all modulation envelope parameters from one to another.
    Thanks.

      Sorry for the delayed response, Onur. I have not tried working with this with Instrument tracks, but, when I add multiple audio tracks, select them all, show automation, I can then control volume, pan, etc. for each one using only one volume or pan control within the track column. Not sure how this would translate to instrument track parameters but I don't see why you couldn't automate all of them at the same time, especially if it's something like the volume control for a crescendo. Hope this makes sense/helps...

      Hi Quanta, thanks for reply.
      I actually can control volume of multiple audio/instrument tracks at the same time; it's ok. But, you know, when you inrease/decrease the dynamic level of an orchestral VSTi (e.g. brass section), the timbre also changes as well as the loudness. So, volume control doesn't provide a realistic crescendo :(
      Only way that I've found to control modulation/dynamics of multiple VST instrument channels is arming all of them at once to record the MIDI CC (playing with modwheel while recording). But that way doesn't solve the whole problem. I cannot change/tweak the recorded automation parameters at the same time.
      For VSTi or VSTfx automation, would be great If there is an "control all envelopes with single one" option in automation channel menus in Studio One.

    One thing I really didn't catch, does the record button have to be engaged to actually write the automation or does being in "write" mode alone do it? Also, will knobs and faders work to make changes when it "write" mode? Finally: recording with the "write" function on and doing nothing to knobs or faders simply return me to a neutral track where I can start over or do I have to do something else to return to my original state and start over? Please advise. Thanks.

    Just a quick question, not sure if this is normal behaviour in studio one but it seems I need the plugin window open or I can't automate with an external device. Can you confirm or deny? Maybe I'm missing a setting somewhere

    By the way Sir, I would like to ask if what specs/features that I need to consider in choosing a new laptop for studio one to eliminate clicks and crack sounds during recording and mixing. The more specific the better. Thank You in advance.!

    Thank you, what i needed as new to studio one. Very good. There might be some changes in S1 v4. Mapping of keys does not show as in v3 at 13:36, or I have missed something

    Why the wave automation is simple, vst/midi not works the same way, how can I do it?

    • @quantaaudio
      @quantaaudio  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Bounce your MIDI tracks down to audio then do the automation you'd like.

    Great videos! Just switched to Studio One and watched a good portion of your video before getting started. I have one question though, if i'm reading a guitar (DI) and i wanna use a clean effect, lets say with reverb and chours. Then wanna switch to distortion, is there a way to have multi effects in the same track without splitting or recording a new track? Thanks!

    • @quantaaudio
      @quantaaudio  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not sure I'm understanding your question correctly. But, you can have multiple effects, say, chorus, reverb, distortion all added to the "insert" section of your audio track. You can add these in the mix console or the inspector, or simply drag the effect onto your track. You could then just deativate/power off any effect you don't want to use, without removing it. They each have a small power on/off button in the upper left corner of the effect device.

    • @scardly12
      @scardly12 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Quanta So, what im looking to do is record a dry guitar, and add a
      clean effect (i use EZMix) then change the effect to distortion using
      JST plugin all without having to record another track one foe cleans and
      one for distortion. Hopefully this makes a bit more sense haha. Thanks!

      Hey Quanta, great videos! I think brad is asking about automating turning on and off an effect at a particular time in a song (or bypassing it).
