Hi ,I from Kerala, India. Black pepper was exported by us to various parts of the world including Egypt. Interestingly black pepper was found in nostrils of pharoah of exodus, Ramses II , as part of funerary ritual. We are one of the first christians where St Thomas the apostle preached and evangelised

But you forgot about Abydos, where Ra used the Stargate to bring humans to mine Naquadah!
(I know, I know. Not another Stargate SG-1 reference. But you're an Egyptologist. I can't help myself! 😂)

Wasn't Punt in the general area of Eritrea, Somalia, and Ethiopia? So it seems to me the Egyptians would probably have known the area as far south as the Horn of Africa and the area of modern Aden and Yemen. The Sumerians wrote about places such as Magan, Meluhha and Dilmun, with many thinking that Meluhha was the Indus Valley Civilization, so the Egyptians were probably aware of them.

Sudan and Eritrea certainly, and perhaps part of Ethiopia. But, probably not Somalia.

If I remember correctly, the first discovered Etruscan-language text was on the wrappings of a mummy from Egypt.

Supposedly ebony wood has been found in Egyptian tombs. This wood comes from either Ceylon near India or Western Africa. As such it probably changed hands on the way to Egypt.

The ancient even early bronze age but bronze age and potentially copper age is far more global than we tend to acknowledge and we're finding evidence now. As far as China, and apparently there's evidence of Vanilla or something from the New World in Egyptian tombs or something like traces or genetic or something. This could explain some legends especially since I just saw an article today arguing Thule was an incomplete word that was originally...I can't remember but basically Iceland.
This all makes the ancient world feel so much more alive, beautiful, and I wish I could have seen all those back then, such ancient cultures.

That vanilla research has kind of fallen through because the researcher did not account for vanillin in oak.

@@ancientegyptandthebible Thank you for letting me know! I'm admittedly disappointed but I still find it very hard to believe that there wasn't consistent old world new world contact throughout until a few hundred years before Columbus. It could have been forgotten knowledge, especially considering the reason Vikings started raiding.

@@ancientegyptandthebiblehow did ancient Egyptian artifacts make it into the congo ? Its either they made it ( possibly getting pygmies from there, the ones that entertained the pharaohs) or kushites.
