- This is a Chinese Mantis. It has preyed on cicada and other Mantis before and after. It has a fierce temperament. Today it has to face poisonous common house centipede. What's the result?
House centipede is actually a beneficial bug since it hunts and eats other bugs

House centipede is actually harmless. They are afraid of human, they usually froze if they see you. They go after small pests in the house like: spiders, fleas or ants.

Bullshit lmao. Every time I’ve encountered one of these things in my home, they always try to rush me. They are suicidal little freaks of nature. If it’s death they want, it’s death they’ll get. I hate these things.

I was very impressed by how this Centipede handled it.
I knew it wouldn't see the Mantis as food because it's way bigger than anything these Centipedes eat so i knew it would try to get away.
But i thought for sure once the Mantis grabbed it, it would be over.
I was wrong, that Centipede had some serious fight in it. Very impressive!

I woke up one morning and saw one of these running across the carpet toward me. Didn't know what it was and didn't know how it got in there. All I knew is that I did not want to find out what happened when it got to my foot.

Did the mantis survive? I saw a mantis getting bit by a black widow spider and it got paralysed for a while but still survived after
Fun Fact: house centipedes rarely bite people or pets and mostly prefer trying to escape threatening situations. Also, although house centipede venom is not as toxic as some other centipede species and their bites rarely cause any serious effects

Praying mantis is my favorite bug of all time. Wish just once it could take out a katydid, centipede, scorpion, bull frog and especially a black widow. Mantis my all time fav. They're so cute!

@@MichaelJohnson-yd3td @Michael Johnson they can, some mantises grow to be 7in (18cm), the same size as bullfrog, bullfrogs are very heavy though so the mantis would have to eat a small one
When my daughter was in elementary school she used to catch mantis's and chase the local boys around with them. She used to also pet large orb weaver spiders in the garden, after she fed them, with her finger. I only found out about this many years later.
@@jeffh709 ha lol my kinda girl! I'd be proud. I have 2 boys and bofa-dem love all sorts of creatures.. frogs. Biting sand flies. Tetsi flies. Emperor scorpions. Giant 7" centipedes. Stinky wheel bugs. Assassin bugs. Giant Asian hornet. And the before mentioned praying mantis. They're especially fond of praying mantis though.
@@MichaelJohnson-yd3td I am proud of my girl thanks. She kept a common house centipede as a pet for a year of so until it died and she said it was cute. If you look at them under magnification she is correct. She still surprises me sometimes. I believe that kids who grow up with things that are uncomfortable to others and learn to appreciate them will be better adapted in life. Or at least better prepared.

I feel like this was some weird Pokémon thing
La mante à peur de rien. Une fois j'ai vu un combat Frelôn européen ( hornet) versus une mante. La mante s'est immédiatement jeté dessus et a commencé à la tailler en pièce et à hacher une de ses ailes principale, puis une patte ou deux, le frelon sortait son harpon et cherché à lui planter mais l'exosquelette de la mante empêchait toute pénétration mais à la toute fin des rounds, la mante mourru subitement pour je ne sais quelle raison et le frelôn sortit vainqueur du combat non sans peine, des dégâts de partout et abîmée de tous les côtés. (Presque draw "exaequo" je dirais car le frelon n'ira pas bien loin dans l'état dans lequel il était).

@@rayto_V2 hahaha I would've been uncomfortable if one was in my room and in live in Brisbane, I'm used to large spiders but not those things you have. I spent years in Europe, London then was offered a job in a backpackers hotel in Rue Du Ravoli, near Notre Dame, then went south to visit someone in Var 83 just outside Lorgues, nearest big town was Draguignan, I loved it there doing some building work, food tastes better in France, order the same things you might get anywhere, sandwich and it's just better, bread in France is delicious, I used to eat heaps just with butter, eggs taste better, milk etc, I'm getting carried away in memories here 😂

I been bit by a house centipede, I was cleaning and I saw one and went to flick it, it stuck to my finger and bit me... It HURT more than a wasp sting.
