    Hi Tim! I'm Wes from Liverpool, England. I found your channel through your participation in a vid by Trevor from Astrobackyard, also including Chuck from Chuck's Astrophotography and Dylan from Star Stuff. ( You're in great company there my friend! ) Just like to say great vids thus far and i will follow your vids as i do all 3 aforementioned Legends of our beautiful Hobby! I would love to visit Germany one day, as you guys also do amazing Super Scale Radio Controlled Gas Turbine Helicopters, and Jets/Planes! ( My other EXPENSIVE Hobby! haha ) God Bless You Tim, thanks for the great vids/Channel! Clear Skies and away with all Light Pollution! lol

    Nice set up, I have the HEQ5 myself and I love that thing. Too bad I'm still using a borderline department store scope Celestron Astromaster 130 on it, still saving up for the Orion Astrograph 8. Can't wait to get it so I can do imagines of things other than globular clusters with decent results. If you would like to simplify things slightly you don't actually need to plug your guide camera into the mount via the ST4 cable, I gather that is sort of a relic from older systems. Since it is already plugged into the mount via the computer you can still set everything up in PHD2 with only the one usb cable plugged in.

      Since the video you were watching is like 1 year old, the ST4 cable is already catching dust😉

      @@AstroAddict Yeaaaahhh, I sort of figured you might have already after looking at the upload date. I don't know about you, but I found that out from that one Dylan O'Donnell video.

    I’m struggling to find one cable to connect my mount and pc or asiair

    • @AstroAddict
      @AstroAddict  ปีที่แล้ว

      If you want a connection from Mount to USB, look for: Pegasus Astro EQDir. 50 Bucks for a cable is definitely outrageous, but a cheap one from amazon fried my laptop. Better safe than sorry

    Wondering if you can post a list of your gear? Some of us are very intrigued by this hobby and are looking to get a list of what is needed to start out. Very nice setup you have. I have been watching videos from AstroBackyard.com and found you through looking at his videos. He has some great equipment and I am jealous, but for now I am looking to create a setup similar to yours. Clear skies!!

    Hi Tim, Just a suggestion to help with the heavy weight of your DSLR. This is what I use for my set up and it works really well. It is a cable called a " DC Coupler with a USB converter connected to it " It is basically a dummy battery that plugs into your camera's battery slot then goes to a USB powerbank which you can then attach anywhere on your mount with Velcro or any how you like. Here is an Amazon Link for the correct lead for your camera. www.amazon.co.uk/Decoded-Coupler-Converter-Replacement-ACK-E18/dp/B07C1SL18B/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1538811699&sr=8-1&keywords=DR-E18+Fully+Decoded+DC+Coupler%2C+Single+USB+DC+Converter+Power+Cable+Replacement+for+ACK-E18+AC+Power+Adapter%2C+suit+for+Canon+EOS+200D%2C+750D%2C+760D%2C+77D%2C+800D%2C+Rebel+SL2+T6i%2C+T6s%2C+T7i%2C+Kiss+X8i%2C+8000D . You will also need a good quality USB powerbank of about 10,000mA - 20,000mA that has a 2A output. It's a very good and inexpensive system and I can get 2-3 full nights of long exposure photos with my Canon EOS 1300D. Take a look into this and i'm sure you will find it saves you ALOT of weight on the end of your scope. I hope this helps you and please keep up the great videos too. I found your video on Guiding and using PHD2 very helpful indeed. Best wishes to you and clear skies. Ray.

      Got it from a german telescope-service. Here you go: www.teleskop-express.de/shop/product_info.php/info/p430_Skywatcher-HEQ-5-Pro-Synscan---GoTo-Montierung-bis-14kg.html
      But any distributor of the Skywatcher products will do!
