“Let’s stretch it and... awe holy shit.” -astroaddict 2018 Greetings from Texas. This is me every time a good image pops up on my laptop. Keep up the good work!
Hi, I just started with astro/deepsky photography, photographing at night (like startrails) I do now for several year. I like your videos and in this one you talk a bout moisture. What I always do when I set up everything something other than a hard surface is using a groundsheet (if thats the right word for the peice of plastick you put a tent on). Moisture will still get to your stuff, but a lot less.
I finally get why i saw so many groundsheets (yeah lets call it that way why not) in so many videos and on the conventions. Everything makes sense now😅 I got myself a dew heater since then, no need to worry about that anymore, but thanks for the tip!
One tips. I use also laptop for control everithing. But I dont like to keep that outside. Due to humidity, temperature etc. I use 10m active usb cable (and I have one other with 5m lenght, it possible to extend up to 15m in my case). And moved my laptop in my loundry room, and I do same way, as you use temviewer for control. You can buy active usb cable up till 20m long, so I think it will be enough for you. If not if i know right you can chain 5 pieces together :) One other tip, you can buy "dummy" bettery for camera, and it is very easy to feed with power bank or ac adapter.
I read that USB-Cables are limited in range, due to high material resistance. 20 meters?? Really? :O So you just set up everything outside, start the plan, and move the laptop inside? I imagine it kinda annoying if you would have to run out every time if there is a problem. Having the laptop close to everything is much more handy, isn't it? Imagine refocusing after the temperature dropped. Humidity was not a problem for me, i simply covered the laptop with a towel.
Great image, superb target...handy tip for gardens and grass with scope legs unless no hard place and bricks around .. visit a garden centre and try and get 3 terracotta flower pot saucers.. comes in various sizes and help spread the weight out on grass and less sink
Great explanation, and awesome tip of using a tablet for your flat frames... inspired!!! 🤣🤣 I shall be using that tip tonight in my efforts to capture Comet Neowise 👍🏻
AstroAddict i discovered that my 5d needs its battery to work hahahahaha 🤣🤣 Nevermind, I used my iPhone with the NightCap Camera app and got some decent shots. I’ll try again with the 5d tonight 😁
Danke erstmal. Habe ich das so richtig zusammengefasst? 1. Light Frames: ISO 800 M Modus, Bulb einstellen und 2-5M belichten. -> Die eigentlichen Bilder. 2. 3. Flat Frames: ISO 800 A Modus.
Thanks for the informative vid! 12:09 perhaps better to fold the cover of the tablet back on itself to prevent the cover pulling it down and falling off
The cover is not on there in order that it won't fall off😀 Nowadays i use my the level to the the scope straight before putting it on there. It used to slip very easily, so i let the cover down to prevent it from slipping to the other side
Wow. Nice work. I need to get a real tracking mount.. I have an eq mount with a 70mm x 400 mm scope on my Nikon Really struggling.. soon as I get a go 2 mount my game will change totally
Either that, ot the rest is way too quiet. I'ma go with the rest is too quiet, because i left the music at the end without any change. Thanks for the reminder! Gotta work more on the audio!
I had to turn the volume down at the end. Don't get me wrong... It's a great informative video. I usually don't watch videos to the end but yours kept me. 😁
you trying to do astro backyard kind of video , trying to get more subs , if you do you are doing it good , nice job , maybe reduce it , compress it , it will kick more ass not that i have a problem with lenght , fine to me
I am not trying to be Trevor. I am still searching for my own style, and i think i am on a good way. I want to spread some inspiration and positivity. It's so much more than a hobby. It's a mindset. I've already seen that TH-cam recommend's his videos after mine, and the other way around. We are all in the same boat.

@@AstroAddict yes it has two version. First "only wire" is limited to 5 m. And has other variant, with active electronic that can 20m.

That could indeed be helpful, but our backyard soil is so dense, the sink-in is barely non-existent.
Thanks for the tip tho!
good idea
just made my first astropicture with old 400D and sigma lens and can see up to magnitude 13 stars really amazing

Another great video. easy to understand, thanks :)

thanks for this video m8.. ive learned a lot!
Is there any specific shuttter speed ot iso that i have to do flat frame with?
Watch the newer video I made for that
@@AstroAddict link?
you have opened a stargate in ur basement.. try to hold it open and send a cam on a wire thru to see whats on other side
Put my nose though it once... smelled like... sulfur...
hahhaha @@AstroAddict

Lovely pic, ur explanation for the correction frames was quite clear and useful. Looking forward ur next video.
Whats was that noise ? lol
I guess the neighbours. It sounded liek it came from the backyard tho, i was quite concerned. But everything was fine :)
Do I have to take calibration frames if I'm shooting with cooled dedicated astrophotography camera?
Yes
@@AstroAddict Thanks. Appreciated.
thank you AstroAddict
How to find the exposure settings ?I don't get it
Which ones?
@@AstroAddict oh sorry ..for the flat frames.
Set the DSLR to AV mode, done
@@AstroAddict and what aperture, iso...does that have any influence?
Same as light's
can i do these using my phone?
im pretty weak in english im sorry hahaha
The flats? If you phone can cover the entire scope, yes. But i doubt that
I had to laugh when I realized you meant an undershirt and not your boxers. I know. A little lost in translation so to speak.
Good video but the ending music is way too loud.
