I agree with your opening statement about Harley. The sound, the feel....One of my T-shirts says "if I have to explain you wouldn't understand". Lots of other nice bikes but.......
Great video Sandy! I agree with you about riding a Harley-Davidson. Words can't explain the true feeling you have, when riding. It's like you one on one with everything around you and the feeling of freedom!! The sound is the best, the wind , the scenery that you pass on a journey. Priceless!! 🇺🇸🤘🏻💯!!
Being from upstate NY i can relate to these east coast videos. I haven't ridden since October. We've had a few nice days, but there's so much salt on the roads it's risky. Ride safe down there!
When u gotta get that fix u gotta get that fix. I give a tiny kick of throttle inna safe area and see how the grip is.. that gives me a little glimpse of what the road is like Do not do this if you’ve not been at this a long time or if u can’t control some wheel slip. Looks like John did just that same thing when setting off. Great minds think alike. I love how u set up your LRST for cold weather. Love seeing other guys out there riding in the sub freezing weather. Gives me hope that there’s more out there who really live for this. *don’t go for short rides in the cold if u gonna go make it at least 30min or you’ll accumulate condensation in the motor
Great video Sandy, but you had me freezing! Glad I’m in Florida this time of year. Even so, we’ve had some cold weather down here. So my rule of thumb is no riding if it’s under 60°. Come down to Jupiter and hit me up!
My parents lived in Ridgewood. I took my Goldwing there several times from Maryland. I'm not a cold weather fan, but since I got my Harley, I am really tempted to go for a ride.
You really want a game changer ride with a heated seat as well as heated grips then heated jacket and gloves, cannot get too cold. Ride safe, have fun.
Hey Sandy, That was a cold run! I enjoy watching yours and Johns videos from the same ride, you guys compliment each other. I'm in southern MA and ride all winter if roads are clean. I like between 2500-3000 rpms myself on my RG Ltd. The last thing I do is fuel up the tank to the top before I park it to prevent the possibility of condensation inside the tank walls. Dunks!
Great ride, Sandy! I've got to remember to avoid that paint on the roads. Glad you got your other bike stopped in that sketchy situation! (And I would choose Dunkin over Starbucks any day! 😂) Thanks for taking us along.
That’s one of the pitfalls of the older bikes without ABS. I got the same situation on a 2002V rod which locks up like that. But when you’re used to using a touring bike with ABS, you don’t think about it when you hop on your non-ABS bike and you don’t drive right which is to slow down a lot sooner than you think.
You have to plan ahead with old Softails. I had an 07 Softail Standard Custom that I swore that I'd keep forever. It took two occasions locking up the brakes on CA freeways to make me ride it to the dealer and trade it in on a Road Glide.
Optimal engine speed is really dependent on the combination. Higher compression bigger cam u gonna wanna be at that 3500+ Something like a 480mt yea 2500-3k cruise .. 3500-5k when ripping on it. I have the 480MT in my 124 I stay 3k + 3500 as a base area when I’m fkn around so I’m right in the meat of the power band for that cam. So it’s right there when I drop the hammer LOVE THE VID
Today was sunny in Colorado but it snowed a bunch earlier this week and there is too much Ice on my street. Otherwise I'd ride at least an hour. Hate not being able to get out there!!
So how does the heated gear work ? Are gloves plugged into jacket then pants then bike like daisy chain then out to an SAE connection direct to the battery or each item to the battery? Do you have to get separate adapters adapters to connect each item to the other or are those connections universal?
starbucks ? when did you guys start riding BMWs? 😂😂😂😂😂. you can keep that house for 10s of millions lol. buy 2000 acres in NC and a big house for that 😂😂😂😂😂

It’s good to see that floorboards fit on your bike.

Love your videos Sandy 👌🏼 Keep them coming

Great view! Crazy riding in that weather. Enjoyed it! Thanks!

Dunks it is ! 😂
Your bike is soooooo nice! Keep riding and be safe.

Yeah that stuff is slippery - Dunkin’s is the best !!
I had to ride in the snow yesterday, only a couple miles, luckily I didn't have any problems, new bike has good tires
Happy new year to you and your family always enjoy watching ride safe and enjoy

I cannot wait to ride smfh. It’s all iced up here in Mass… I don’t have heated gear so I’ll be waiting until march

You’re right 👍🏻 planning ahead is crucial
Good ride. The Harley brand is awesome.
40 degrees is my cut off. I'm 65 now and can't take the cold anymore.
I was riding when it was 9 degrees never been soo cold in my life. No heated gear. 28 degrees is my cut off 🤙
Something about Harley’s for sure. 👍
I know , it’s an emotional thing
Add another rotor to the front of your softtall
I went out to ride as well and now I’m sick as a dog 😂 no heated gear though
Do you not worry about traction at that temperature? Love the cold start, nothing sounds like a Harley.

The salt also kills the frame and chrome
I have a 2023 fxlrs and I like to ride between 3500 and 4000 rpm
I don't know about stupid for riding right now I would say crazy! I live in Arizona and when it gets below 40, that's when I park the bike
I'm a total "low rpm rider"... especially, with my V-twin bikes, I loved that lumpy, low rumble. I even lug my 300 2stroke dirt bike. 😎
M8s don’t wanna be under 2500 for cruising, minimum. 3k+ on the hwy
Don’t lug it
keep mine between 2000 and 2500 most of the time, no issues
What bike stand are you using in your garage?
You guys are nuts😂
What kind of engine crash bar are you running? I’m assuming that rubber on top is to hold your feet. Thanks.
Why did you switch back to the stock saddlebags?
if you are running a cam you need to keep the rpm's up....can't dog the gears...
You near Whippany/Persippany?
You've got to ride your own ride Sandy
How do you land that A380 in the snow

Gloves plugged into jacket. If he had pants, they would be plugged in separately to a splitter.
What is the black tube sticking up behind your speed?
Camera with selfie stick in the handlebars bag
Need heated tires. !!!
Denvile Rockaway
You are behind on posting your videos Sandy. I saw John's 10 days ago!! lol Stay warm!
I know!!
What brand heated gear you use
Link in description… Gerbing
3,000 RPM is the sweet spot for the M-8. In my opinion.
That’s where I like it 2900-3300
starbucks ? when did you guys start riding BMWs? 😂😂😂😂😂. you can keep that house for 10s of millions lol. buy 2000 acres in NC and a big house for that 😂😂😂😂😂
Don't help him. We have enough.... 😁😁
