Hmm not much to say here I suppose. This is a match between what I would consider the two most boring decks from BT-11. The winner had an advantage and usually won this matchup during playtesting. I'm more excited for the mysterious intruder appearing in Semi-Final 2. I've been watching some of yall speculate, so here's one hint: unfortunately, it is not three-arm Justimon!
That bt8 metalgreymon interaction made the difference there twice. Galactimon should have also allowed for it to prevent dedigivolve as a mere ultimate can just dedigivolve the mighty satellite after the galacti player has jump through many hurdles just to assemble it. We need vemmon promo or card that allows it to be unaffected by dedigivolve to truly allow the mighty world ending satellite digimon to dominate with its presence.
@@Shades14 So you're willing to allow a deck more broken than Xros Heart ever was (even in the JP Meta where the banhammer hasn't hit Xros Heart yet, BWargX is so dominant that even with two variants of Xros Heart tiered separately they only reach about half of the amount of tops BWarg does by combining their scores- and again, this is in a meta where X4 and Sunrize Buster are BOTH unlimited) a free pass? I get that you hate Xros Heart, but the nerfs to Xros Heart have made it a hell of a lot more reasonable (Read: X4 and Sunrize being limited to 1). But BWargX is so dominant that it completely overshadows even the pre-nerf Xros Heart, to say nothing about dumpstering 3/4 of the rest of the game. Most decks simply DO NOT have a way of answering BWarg. If you don't have Dedigi or -DP (other removal options like Chaos Degrade and Astral Snatcher/Bagramon can be answered, not to mention being way too costly), you simply cannot answer BWargX. It's not healthy for the metagame at all. There is NO WAY IN HELL that BWargX having such a ridiculous stranglehold on the metagame is even remotely close to okay, EVEN in comparison to the Xros Heart-dominated BT10 metagame. The level of dominance simply is not comparable.
From europe here, we received ex-03 just last week and i must say it feels very amazing at the moment. So many decks are viable and every player can really choose their favorite playstyle and still succeed. I must say i'm not a fan of the new BWGX, it looks too oppressive and seems to protect itself against almost everything. I think they overdid it this time, however only time will be able to tell how it affects the west! I must thank you, rustmarrow, for your videos! You create them in a fun way while showing off the main strengths of the decks! Greetings from germany and my former home at Taman Jurong, Lakeside!
BWGX is busted so of course it would win but I still wanted Galacticmon to pull this one off so badly! It still came pretty close. Galactic did really well.
Yeah, this tournament's result is undoubtedly clear-cut. Regardless of who wins between Machinedra and the mystery contestant, I just don't see any way they can get past BWarg's completely oppressive tools. There was no way BWarg wasn't going to win. The deck is just way, way too strong. Recent results show that it's even stronger than the *pre-restriction* Xros Heart variants.
I think Machinedra just might have a chance though. The cheap multiple from Chaosdra could potentially break through BWGX when it counts. As for the mysterious intruder... we'll have to see!
@@rustmarrow The problem is, Machinedra will have big trouble staying on the field and maintaining its offensive presence when BWarg is stripping 2 or more sources off of it every turn. It's very possible that Machinedra could just burn out, whereas BWarg has other options besides BWargX (not to mention their own low-cost dedigivolve from BT8 MetalGreymon and Gaiomon can really hamstring Machinedramon). Best case scenario, it becomes a Dedigivolve war- one that BWarg will more likely win, especially since it can get DeDigi protection whereas Machinedra cannot.
Really does show the power the BWG X has, I would say its closest Match was in Round 1. If machindramon could make it to the finals, it would be interesting to see. As it would come down to who can control the board with de-digivolve effects. Though guess the trend of the most un fun decks being top still stands. From xros-heart, to bwg, to gabubond.
Xros Heart is kinda fun now that it's not just unga bunga x4 sunrize, with both Sunrize and X4 being limited to 1. Or at least, the X7 variants are, anyway.
He cant keep getting away with this! Can anyone stop this mad man?! Lets go Mysterious Stranger! I dont know who you are, but I place my hopes in you! SN: That puts me at 1-9 lol
Yeah, and unless Machinedra or the mysterious stranger is the perfect counter, that number of Ls is going to keep rising until the end where BWarg wins.
Man, Galacticmon had a couple of decent turns, but it really just felt like no contest. Genuinely enjoyed, though, that it was BT8 MetalGreymon that made all the difference here; against a lot of decks that would just be kind of cute and ultimately inconsequential, but in this match it was just so clutch.
@@Shades14 Xros Heart isn't broken any more. Not after X4 and Sunrize Buster got hit and limited to 1. And in case you've forgotten, Xros Heart didn't even win the BT10 tournament! BWarg absolutely needs to get hit because its kit is oppressive to basically all styles of play, not helped by the fact that BWarg is extremely hard to remove once it hits the field: only DP reduction is a reliable option (even Dedigi isn't due to MetalGreymon (Virus) X), and most decks don't have access to that. Combined with the fact that Greymon X (Virus) allows BWarg to come out LUDICROUSLY quickly (especially if combined with the card we should always be cautious of, Cool Boy), it allows BWarg to often just dominate games from turn 2 or 3. So to answer you with a tl;dr: ANY deck aside from BWarg! Whether that be Xros Heart, Bagra Army, Machinedramon, Galacticmon, even Mastemon who I have a burning hatred for, ANY of those would be preferable to the stupidly broken BWarg.
@N. E. You mean arguably the next best deck in the format and one of the only decks that has something resembling an even matchup against BWarg, if only because the deck is an OTK deck that is just as fast, and can just run over BWarg by attacking (and is basically the only deck that can do so)?
Same here... but unfortunately it's usually the unfun decks that have the most winning potential. However, let's not give up hope just yet. If BWGX meets Machinedra in the finals, Chaosdra's multiple for cheap could break through their defences, and we still have the mysterious new intruder!
@@rustmarrow I actually had done a Bwgx vs chaos match with my friend. It lasted a solid as we had to jockey around my destruction effects and his de-digivolve and redirects via analogman. He ended up winning in the end.
Even as early as Round 1, who I was rooting for came down to 'Everybody but BWarg', with particular preference to Xros Heart, Machinedramon, Galacticmon and the poop deck.
This was boringly one-sided. Every time it started feeling like Galacticmon could actually do something, BWGX just went "MetalGreymon, dedigivolve 1, then delete" which, well, it's what it always does. It's so unfair that the first deck to get DeDigivolve protection is also the one that spams DeDigivolve the most. Hoping for BWGX to get hit soon, since apparently it's the strongest deck in the current japanese meta, and with a big difference.

Yea I can see the winner from the matchup straight away.
I bet is beelzemon with the support from the advanced starter deck.
@Ali Hussein No, the effect is "when any Digimon becomes unsuspended", so it was reacting to Galactic becoming unsuspended

Still better than Xros Heart winning.
