  • Short of having and raising my family, the opportunity to serve this party and this province has been the honour of my life.
The people of Alberta are bold, friendly, open, caring and adventurous. I’ve learned so much from them.
Thank you to all the Albertans I’ve met along the way - those who advised me, supported me, and even disagreed with me.
I love this province and I know that our best days are still ahead.

Not as hostile as you think, certainly loud on social media, but thats a small group. Almost HALF of all voting albertans are 'socialist NDP'. The ONLY conservative policy Smith advanced was lower taxes, and immediately lied about it, the rest of the conservative platform, except privatizing health care, was a copy of NDP policies.
And thats despite record low turnout where lots of albertans figured there was no point in voting.
Both major cities are NDP, and both are growing rapidly with young ontarians and BCers. So what you see online is NOT 'Alberta".

For one thing just look at these comments, they are most often men, usually of a certain age, and don't believe in climate change, and will proclaim that Trudeau is the 'worst' PM in history because "well, inflation happened after a pandemic".
None of them were THANKING Trudeau when during the pandemic gas was at its LOWEST price ever. But no less than one of the smartest political pundits I've come across has said that the conservative strategy is to inundate social media so that hopefully voter turnout will go down. It worked very well in Ontario and Alberta.
