(Sorry for the novel) I’ve studied the Bible my entire life. Around 17 I started studying other religions and that’s when I started to actually gain a measurable understanding of the Bible. I’ve never understood why someone would say to another “don’t read that.” Or don’t associate with them.” Referring to other religions for a couple reasons. How do you ever expect to bring someone to the lord if you know nothing of their beliefs? Also how can you look knowledge in eye and say “nah that’s bad.” If your faith is so weak that simply reading a holy book from another culture can sway it, it’s not there to begin with. I say all that to say I agree 100% there is so much that’s missed out when “skimming” or strictly studying the Bible and hoping to understand it.
