You couldnt have been more wrong in asuming the evo is lighter, they are actually heavy cars. The gc8 chassis classic impreza was lighter than any Evo, especially 7+'s. They are all over 1350kg
I stand corrected since I did write, "seen the title....", as no where on the title states saloon vs estate I'd be more than inclined to agree with you if the GC8 was a match for match chassis shape to the CS6A though

It's usually people with cars they bought that have been built by someone else and they "never dyno'd it but it feels like xxxhp" or "the previous owner lost the printout"

Could beat the scooby as it is now he just can't drive for shit, delayed gear changes and feathering the throttle, evos have a sharped throttle response and spool alot faster and harder I know this very well
Great video, really enjoyed it as well as seeing again my favorite rivalry taking place. The only problem I had was, we had two evenly matched cars, but with two unevenly matched drivers. The moment I saw the Evo launch (or lack of) and the delicate slow shifting, I knew the Evo was going to loose. With that big of a gap in two evenly matched cars, this was 100% a driver issue.
Absolute joke that time for a 500bhp evo? The owner must be dreaming with his 500bhp 😆 an evo 9 fq340 is not far off those times, at most that evo has 400bhp and thats being generous.. or there is something not right with that engine...
It was a bit closer in the rolling start race up until the end. I wonder if the Scooby being a 2.4 has a bit more torque to help it pull better in the higher gears. The straight cut gearbox made a huge difference in the lower gears and is great for the track or raw performance but wouldn't fancy a long road trip in it haha

It doesn’t take an expert though to see that the evo isn’t being driven to its limit... my 407bhp wrx has a similar 1/4 mile time to that evo and a faster 0-60 despite being 80bhp down and having a full interior.. thats down to driver not car Cracking video though J! Looking forward to seeing more of these
I have a 405hp golf R stationwagon, daily family car so full interior as well. The impreza is slightly faster, 0.2sec on 1/4 mile. His 0-60, is crazy tho..
@@Drquimbaymatumbo evos got a always on torque vectoring rear diff (sends power from left to right) plus an active center diff that automatically controls wheel spin (front and back); essentially they are a point and shoot car vs a Subaru which requires the DCCD to be manually adjusted depending on driving conditions, anyone can drive an Evo and do good around a track but not everyone can do the same in a subie hence where the division in communities comes from It’s really just 2 (third being the engine) things that make the evo what it is but otherwise both cars do the same thing

I ran a 4.2 0-60 in my barely modified evoX, so id say it all depends on the driver and he did a pretty safe launch so im pretty sure thats why

Mines is 420 BHP and would of done better then that Evo7!!
