Bro i hope you see this message and help me. So i want to connect my laptop as a second monitor, i already have the monitor setup with its pc. When i connect the laptop to the monitor, it makes me use the laptop mouse pad and keyboard in order to do everything. I dont know if its cause its connected in hdmi 1 and i have to switch the monitor to hdmi 1 in order to use the laptop as a second monitor. I am not able to use the mouse and kb i got connected on the monitor. It also changes my monitor screen to the laptop screen.
Let's say Monitor 1 is running windows 11, you want to use other laptop as secondary monitor. So, We are connecting monitor 1 with HDMI male and the other end of the HDMI male is plugged in to HDMI Female to USB connected to laptop.

Make sure the HDMI male cable goes into the HDMI port of GPU on your PC. And then it has to be passed through the usb port of your laptop to be used as second monitor.
I tried miracast to extend my main laptop screen onto a spare laptop, but there seems to be some compatibility issues as there is constant flickering with a greenscreen shown on my laptop. Idk whats the issue any recommendations would be of great help. If i try using hdmi cable will this same issue occur??
That's how to use two laptops as dual monitor. This isn't how to use a laptop as a monitor. If you were using it as a monitor you'd be able to plug an xbox into the hdmi port and it would display the xbox.
This is a waste of money. You can just setup the desktop with VNC Viewer, TeamViewer, or just use Microsoft's RDP which is native. The only reason you wouldn't use the above is for some reason the keyboard stopped functioning (which you could still use the built-in Accessibility wizard for typing) or the laptop was completely dead but had a functional screen. In that case you may as well pull it apart and convert into an portable monitor. This configuration just has you buying extra parts for nothing and burning the same amount electricity as if you were running the laptop and a PC.
@@baldediamsbal2351 No, it's not. Running OBS still requires system resources. You're better off buying a low-cost wifi adapter that gets you the same/similar speeds as an ethernet cord. The cost of a newer wifi adapter is less than $7 USD. If you want to get better results then you should plug both the tower and laptop/secondary device by ethernet to a repeating router or switch. No matter what convoluted scenario you try to come up with I can still use standard networking practices that is the same cost or cheaper AND better than the solution in this video.

Hello in case already have hdmi connector, so usb to hdmi is not needed right?
Then you need to choose a valid source in OBS Studio, to capture the input.
Sadly when I open the OBS window, it shows only one camera (the laptop onboard) not the USB camera that is in the Device Manager... only one choice.

No bandwidth is a problem on those case I have wayy better results using a cable
A tower should be connected by ethernet but mine isn't so I need all the bandwidth I can get and this is actually a decent solution
