Though you could argue that gender reassignment greatly increases the chance of trans people(who wish to do it, some don’t) not killing themselves and that most detransitioners (5% of all the trans cases) realize it way before getting to the stage of surgery. The benefits for the 95% greatly outweighs the risk in this case and there’s such thing as personal responsibility (like, would it be right to restrict gender reassignment surgeries or even the access to hormonal treatment and make 95% of the trans population suicidal or should we accept the risk and provide support for the 5% who might regret it later?).
Technicaly there is but most people dont actually want to go back. The surgery is for people that dont feel like their birth gender. Like for instance. I'm a guy, but cause of so many things that happened in my life that are also connected to the fact that im.. Well.. A guy. It made me feel like the only way to escape this horrible place is suicide. But now that i know this surgery exists. Im going to get it as soon as i can
@@Aelith007 you can be trans without having gender reassignment surgery. These people are 100% happier than the operated ones. They live in freedom without suffering. They have fulfilling sex lives, they exercise, they hike, they swim, they are free from pain.
Alright- that was about as clear as mud- I mean sure- I guess anything to mitigate risks- but if an unintentional anastomosis is created- bowel prep seems like a pretty minor aspect
But there are more sideeffects. Transoperation is a lifelong process of suffering. Lifelong wound care and infections You can never exercise again, ride a bike, swim… You can't go far. Your range of movement is maybe 5 minutes. You need a catheter to leave the house or the urine will run down your legs. You need incontinence pads. You will need lifelong surgical corrections. you will never heal
That's so disheartening to know. I angrily wonder if all these seem to be "normal" and "practical" activities are noted to be a problem post medication and surgery? ALL of It. Or they just sign up for it like a club membership?
Message to the doctors who are performing this surgery. Why why why on earth would you go about learning something like this. God created man and women and thats how the circle of life works, how babies are conceived and all. You should invest your time in other more important things, then wanting to change a male private part to a women private part. Shame on you!!!

Biggest, biggest risk is "buyer's remorse" and all of the psychological issues that follow, including suicide.
