One thing I forgot to mention. The timing for when the DFA cancel activates is around the same time your blade makes it's humming sound in it's swing animation. You don't need to have perfect timing to get it to work, but that's the window you're shooting for. And this timing is the same whether you're doing it off the ground, off a ledge corner or off a slope. Was super sleepy when I made this and left out that important fact. xd
for dummies like me, exact momment can be pinpointed by speedometer and regular swining when swining on strong speed decreasing, but in the end it will be restored immideatly to full speed moment when speed is restored is the moment when this effect accures
Man this brings me back. The community I played in had force drain for saber attacks disabled, so you could trigger more than one DFA cancel jump. We called them X-Jumps since you could trigger the effect more than once in a single jump. You can also start a wall run immediately following the DFA jump trigger. Great video and freestyle jumping at the end :D
Haha thanks man. And I've never seen these tricks you mentioned, I might mess around and try them out later, sounds fun to me. Honestly it's my favorite part of the game, strafing and the weird jump related tricks and bugs.
At 1:35 for examples of mistakes, one thing I would mention is that if you do everything else perfect but are holding a side key instead of W (like A or D) you will actually trigger a cartwheel cancel instead of a DFA cancel. It'll look kind of like you did it right, but you'll travel a much shorter distance and just kind of drop. If you see something like that occurring, check to make sure you are ONLY holding W when the cancel triggers.
