Architects played a show here in Adelaide, South Australia at the beginning of this year. someone jumped on stage and tackled one of the band members , and was screaming in Sam's face to respect Tom and play their old songs and none of the new. one of the most disrespectful things i've ever seen at a gig. I've seen them every time they've been here since Hollow Crown days and their shows have only gotten better. So much respect for Sam and the boys for pouring their heart and souls into everything they create
This band hits me in the heart no matter what song. This one, you can tell how much they actually care about us as fans, by how hurt they were hearing what people had to say. We broke their hearts, and they came back with the best F*CK YOU! Lmaooo love them so much❤❤

I think they'll continue on the path they've been on with trying new things, especially with a new guitarist's insights. It seems like just a big "We see you, we heard you...but also fuck you" to those that got nasty in their criticisms. Metal fans really can be some of the worst fans out there. As for me, I loved old Architects. I loved recent Architects. I love the new Architects. I'm excited for what they have coming in the future.

Thanks for going over the lyrics. I think some reactors are missing the point of the song by not checking the lyrics. I love this band. Old, new. IDC. I love them. My heart hurt for them with loss and the BS hate they got. I can't tell you how f*cking happy I was when I finally got to see them live in 2019, singing along to "Gone with the Wind" with other fans - hugging each other in the pit. Amazing. Just got tickets to see them in spring and taking my son. It's his graduation weekend and we will have to race to the venue. As he put it, "I don't care how tired we are, it's Architects and we will be there!"
This song is for everyone who was insulting the band and insulting Tom's memory. Obviously he was a big loss, but the writing that came out of their grief was some of the best they've ever had. I've never doubted these guys, and the session they did at Abbey Road is incredible and showcases their talent. I can't wait to hear what else they do!

It's a middle finger to all the people whinging that they experimented and weren't quite as heavy anymore, so they made the most formulaic metalcore song possible.
Its seriously giving BMTH "Heavy metal" vibes they did that as a middle finger to the fans but they continued on their own path and they are doing fine! I don't think this is going to be them doing this for good just a little teaser but why should they feel they have to please us all the time its their art and passion and they can do what they like. I think this track can be expanded to encompass a lot of what is happening in today's world with musicians, filmmakers, content creators and storytellers ... we live in an age where the feedback loop is so loud and so pervasive that artists must consider it - which is backwards. Artists should create and experiment and let the pieces go where they need to go, the great ones will rise above and the other stuff will float around in the pond. I actually prefer a lot of the more experimental and un-popular songs from a lot of artists. One persons hit is another's trash and so forth. I love these guys and I am a recent fan, their older stuff is not my cup of tea... but this is absolutely awesome songwriting. It has all the chops to be a hit and follows their sound progression (in my opinion bringing the best of old and new) and a message that makes us think and discuss. That is art at its finest.

A lot of people seem to forget that people will inevitably change over time. Architects fans really just expect the same angry aggressive songs they wrote as 25-year-old's and that's just not something you can realistically expect from a group of guys that grew up.

People change as they grow older and as a lyricist who writes from the bottom of his heart like Sam, you write about the things you're dealing with and as you're getting older, these things change. People can't expect them to write the same angry stuff they wrote in their twenties. If you don't like that, just move on! It's that easy. I had to go through something similar: everything Parkway Drive released after Atlas just wasn't for me. It sucked because I enjoy their early records, but I had to move on. They just announced a North American tour and the first show will be in Toronto, ON May 2nd :) I am not really a big Architects fan, but my hubby really likes them! This song goes so hard!!
I one billion percent think that the opening “Blegh” was sarcastic (also kind of ironic too because it’s almost saying “You wanted us to be angry, well here you go as we’re angry at YOU”). Simply because it follows the line “We only ever love you when you’re seeing red.” and the “Blegh” became synonymous with the old architects where they were always angry at everything and the “Blegh” was a way of showing their sheer disgust towards society. So given that the term “seeing red” is a direct reference to their days of pure anger and aggression, the “Blegh” that follows is a throwback to that version of them and sticks with the message they’re trying to convey throughout the song and in particular the line of “We only ever love you when you’re seeing red.
Amazing song that combines a lot of tropes that I grew up for the last 28 years listening to rock/metal/metalcore etc etc.. powerful lyrics of course because people rather than just simply saying hey it isn’t for me but I support your styles regardless instead it’s mentally bothered individuals that threaten lives and are amongst the most toxic internet trolls out there. I think we all have a particular sound we enjoy music wise and generally gravitate to that sound. It also typically reminds of us when we were younger. But bands/artist can’t always keep writing the same songs over and over. They’re not experiencing the same things now. They’re in the same place they were then. People want to evolve. People want to change. And with that change comes trying new things. You can respect a band or artist for wanting to try something but not like the sound or direction they’re going.
I honestly didnt put the lyrcis specific on Architects in the first place but in the overall lets say comment culture in the internet for any kind of music band, influencer or whatever and it still fits a good amount. But with that into my mind, the lyrics are ever better. The song is a banger soundwise too. So sad that the Spotify year review is allready over, would most likely made it to a top3 song
You know I never even knew that people didn't like those 2 albums. I was so confused with the lyrics of this song until my friend told me about what was going on. I don't interact with a lot of metalcore fans except for my buddy that showed me a lot of the bands that I listen to now. I loved all of their albums even if there were a couple of songs I didn't listen to that much. I wish the best for them and I hope they continue to make music that THEY want to make.
Metal fans are impossible to please. More than any other genre, metal fans are the most critical of their bands. I would hate the fanbase as a metal musician.
Architects never stopped being heavy I don't care what anyone says. The problem with the metal scene is that everyone is so elitist in their mindset. Meanwhile the ones actually producing results are the people you pay money to go see and it's no surprise these people's sounds eventually evolve and change..why? because they have to.. those that stagnate in the music industry get swallowed by it. So imagine trying to make the music you're good at but try and expand it and the people that say they love you turn around and shit on you for doing what you have to. I'm with them on this! The metal scene should be ashamed of how pretentious they've become. I hope this is the only heavy song on the record because the community doesn't deserve more.

I think we all have a particular sound we enjoy music wise and generally gravitate to that sound. It also typically reminds of us when we were younger. But bands/artist can’t always keep writing the same songs over and over. They’re not experiencing the same things now. They’re in the same place they were then. People want to evolve. People want to change. And with that change comes trying new things. You can respect a band or artist for wanting to try something but not like the sound or direction they’re going.

I honestly didnt put the lyrcis specific on Architects in the first place but in the overall lets say comment culture in the internet for any kind of music band, influencer or whatever and it still fits a good amount. But with that into my mind, the lyrics are ever better. The song is a banger soundwise too. So sad that the Spotify year review is allready over, would most likely made it to a top3 song

You know I never even knew that people didn't like those 2 albums. I was so confused with the lyrics of this song until my friend told me about what was going on. I don't interact with a lot of metalcore fans except for my buddy that showed me a lot of the bands that I listen to now. I loved all of their albums even if there were a couple of songs I didn't listen to that much. I wish the best for them and I hope they continue to make music that THEY want to make.

Architects never stopped being heavy I don't care what anyone says. The problem with the metal scene is that everyone is so elitist in their mindset. Meanwhile the ones actually producing results are the people you pay money to go see and it's no surprise these people's sounds eventually evolve and change..why? because they have to.. those that stagnate in the music industry get swallowed by it.
So imagine trying to make the music you're good at but try and expand it and the people that say they love you turn around and shit on you for doing what you have to. I'm with them on this! The metal scene should be ashamed of how pretentious they've become. I hope this is the only heavy song on the record because the community doesn't deserve more.
