I'm an ENFP-T. And I think the -T makes a world of difference in breaking down the stereotype of the always adventure-seeking class clown ENFP. Yes, you can be an ENFP and wouldn't be ok with upending your life on a whim. I think taking the Highly Sensitive Person Scale (which may touch on the need for withdrawal. Hey, NF's are known to be sensitive) and the Sensation Seeking Scale (need for new experiences, sometimes "thrill" seeking) can help. Those tests are usually in opposition to each other, but some people (like me) score high on both of those scales. This means we need to regulate both of these aspects of ourselves and give ourselves time to withdraw when we feel overwhelmed and also time to go forth and explore. The analogy is to treat yourself like you're in couples' counseling and 1 part needs safety when they're feeling sensitive and 1 needs bold newness. Each needs to have a chance to express themselves and they can act as a balance to each other. Thanks for the video!
Wow, I think I'm an ENFP-T (withdrawn). It actually makes so much sense! I have always been one to second guess taking risks. Well, I always was confused abaut beeing enfp. And knowing there are differences between “a“ and “t“ helped me a lot. As an enfp with depression, anxiety and bpd, thought I was on the wrong spectrum, but I guess I was incorrect. Thank you Dan!
The food/substances we put into our bodies makes such a difference in our moods, how we feel, how we think. It took me some time to figure it out, but I do feel so much lighter when I'm caring for myself - but also remember to be compassionate w myself.
As an ENFP-T, especially throughout highschool, I would often find myself imagining what would happen if I was not withdrawn But my social anxiety would stop me from making new friends unless I really hit it off with them while we were doing a group project But even then I wouldn't act particularly outgoing as I am with my family... I'd act more reserved, and never crack jokes, which are my specialty Now I'm much more open with people I don't know, and I wish I could go back in time and just be myself, knowing what I know now I'm sure I would've made myself and everyone else happier I'm sure a lot of other ENFP-Ts feel the same

It’s weird. I’m ENFP-T and when it’s suggested that my partner type is introverted I gag 😂 I really struggle with introverts and have done my whole life... I just find them too much work. Does anyone else feel this way?
Withdrawing from new experiences is a big one for me. It leaves me with a question though, how do we escape the loop of Ne and needing to experience new things and on the other hand be too afraid to move towards them? This combo has made me feel more like an INFP sometimes and its really confusing.
Hi, so after my research and getting into this topic the strategy for enfp-t (no matter how high you score on withdrawal is) is the so called „Social Engagement“ strategy. It’s called „interesting“, because on the one hand our extroversion makes us go out, makes us want to meet new people, dive right into life - on the other hand our turbulence creates fear and doubt, makes us want to leave the spotlight that we are craving so much So yeah looks like we are doomed to be unhappy whatever we do right ? Wrong ! We do have the opportunity to view the stress, we experience every time we meet new people, in a different way: I mean yeah it’s scary. SO scary. But if you do get over it, isn’t it exciting? Isn’t the rush of adrenaline triggered by a simple authentic conversation just so amazing? I realized that ones I focused on the sensation it felt more like the excitement from back then, when I was a young child waiting for Santa to come to our house, than real high level stress. My change of perspective (‘that’s impossible!’ to: ‘Its a challenge, let’s do this!’) helped me deal with it better, maybe it helps you too! There is also a great article on “Social engagement” at the official 16 personalities website! Hope it’ll help you! You got this :))
ENFP-T here... Love such necessary videos! Not sure how much I resonate with volatility or withdrawal.. I'm definitely not volatile but can also make big impulsive, life-uprooting decisions with little fear or anxiety even totally unequipped. Neuroticism, however, indeed. Most of my days are lost in endless planning which never manifests. I'm an artist and can create hyperrealistic pieces or nuanced writing when eventually getting around to it, by focusing on granular details.. Once I start, I don't know how to stop... Unless I get distracted or interrupted and then I truly don't know how to start again, it takes me days to weeks to re-establish a focused flow, but I can ride a flow for weeks so long as I ignore most of the rest of my life's priorities ha. Also, not sure if this is just an upbringing thing and never wanting to disrespect another's time by being late but I am never late, always right on the minute and very anxious about it as well. I'm wondering if the T plays into these aspects.
Hi Dan, very glad to have just discovered your channel. I've been an ENFP-T for years (with all the parameters scoring under 60%) and have never identified with many of the MBTI trait descriptions.. Also some of my interests are not usually associated with ENFPs. I was also diagnosed with ADHD in my late teens and stopped meds years ago, opting to adapt and try to focus as an adequate member of society 🙃 I feel like a paradox sometimes, so it's lovely to see a channel like this one helping us understand bits of ourselves more deeply. Looking forward to more content! 😊
I always wondered how could I be ENFP and highly withrawal (89th percentile). I always doubted myself being ENFP after that. But it's true - I'm unhappy in my job and terrified of quiting at the same time - now I finally decided to do it, but it still keeps me anxious. I guess I just have to get that new experience to become comfortable with the change (and overcome the anxiety at first).
I am excited to see the follow-up video! I was solidly an ENFP-A, but then a few years ago I had a baby, and ever since I've been an ENFP-T. Oh gosh, it drives me nuts! Although hearing you talk about your experience with volatility here was helpful, as exercise, a good diet, and social interactions with "my people" have sort of gone out the window for me since my daughter arrived. Definitely things I need to be more mindful of improving again!
idk i feel like i can be both, because if i am in a very good health (mentally and physically) i'm more an A but when I'm not i can relate more to the T...
I’m ENFP-T ..-A , hard to really be sure. I do a lot of NEing but tend to withdrawal and be a little more conservative when making big decisions. Possibly not sure until you’ve reached full maturity?(cough cough if that’s a thing for us ENFP’s) .. Great content Dan. Really enjoy the vids! Ill have to dig deeper on this subj to get the full Narrative.
I had taken the mbti test at least 10x, with a different result each time, INFJ, ENFJ, ENFP... I finally got it to spit out the same answer twice in a row, so I'm sticking with it! Looks like ENFP-T Club for me!
Consult a professional typologist ☺️ I always tested INFP-T on 16personalities and INFJ on other tests...never tested ENFP but I couldn’t figure out if I was INFP or INFJ, got a typing session where I just talked to him and told him about myself and my life, and he said I was ENFP! I was shocked, thought I couldn’t be an extrovert (I’m a 4 on the enneagram and high in neuroticism). But once I researched enfp it made a lot of sense. The -T makes even more sense. I have high withdrawal and volatility. Where is my zen anchor partner?? Lol 😆

ENFP-A. " there's no other way to be. Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one's lifetime." Mark Twain
Yes definitely travel inspired (my company name). I left Canada in 2012 and have been living all around the world. Entrepreneurship and travel are two topics I'm also very passionate about and often work with clients on. I also love learning about people and their dreams around the world both through my travel and work and finding out how similar we all can be (well us ENFPs at least!)
I’m an ENFP but idk if I’m type A or T People say that type T tend to be held down by worry and regret I worry and regret things a lot but I end up forgetting about them (also ignoring them) and then when the problems get worse I get the worry and regret back. Even though I feel anxious I try to stay optimistic Im the type that jumps into things but I always have a ton of anxiety and hesitation before- It’s kinda like a “Well f*ck it” moment
I just took the test and scored ENFP-T. I still don't understand the meanings. I know I'm very socially blessed. I talk to everybody and anybody but however I am prone to first impressions so if it doesn't feel right I stop engaging. I'm very dreamy. I am always running late. I'm a Libra and I work well under creative chaos.
I am awithdrawn ENFP which sounds contradictory because I am pretty friendly. But I’ve noticed as I’ve gotten older and my friends have gotten married it’s harder for me to make new friends and try new social situation‘s. I also notice as a teacher if my students are acting up I tend to fuss at them and withdraw to my desk and stop teaching sometimes rather than disciplining them and moving on.
Okay, but I love jumping into new situations (I have a job that I get to do that almost daily) but I get a lot of anxiety and then sort of break down a bit, push through, and then kill it ya know? What the heck is that?!? I'm on the fence on if I am enfp or entp so maybe that is an element to the tendancy, but can someone be high in withdraw but still consistently enjoy diving in?
It’s weird, in high pressure social situations when I am the center point (like work or school) I find I tend to act confident really well involuntarily as though I’m at rock bottom and I have to go up or something (best way I can describe what happens) even though I avoid those situations at all costs lol
Sometimes I film a bunch of videos and reference one another without planning it out... And then gabby yells at me I've created a circle basically and there is no one video we can publish first. So this happens.
Ok I’m an ENFP and I’ve talked to you a couple times but I gotta know, I speak Spanish, I love Spanish culture, you’re living my dream. Do you speak Spanish? Yo tengo que saber, me está matando ( second edit) I’m also from Canada , never left the country before even tho I want to, just thought I’d mention it.. idk why
Compared to me, you seem super assertive. Lol. My assertiveness is quite low because my neuroticism is high (lifelong anxiety & depression w/ PTSD features)
I honestly feel like the T for me comes from trauma. Having bad childhood experiences for me makes me more cautious tho when im in a good place in life I do go for things way more. I am most volatile also during a sad period of my life like covid. Honestly when im in a good place I am not. Ppl tell me im so chill all the time
Your traits can change based on how you feel and how life is going at the moment. Being dominant in one trait doesn't mean we never express the less dominant trait.
Definitely scared of new things BUT I jump in and do them... while I do them I'm constantly saying how I don't want to or am scared until I do it loool.
So maby I've understood something wrong, but my personality test told me i am Enfp-T and yea i am a emotional person that does control me sometimes, but i have no problem going into new situations and meeting new people, i actually enjoy that very well. I loom forward for that that's what i really enjoy. So did i got something wrong? Or what's my mistake right here. English isn't my native language so sorry for my misstakes haha..
Dreams around the world. Is that a travel related? I was fighting with, am I a INFP? But I checked more extroverted. I'm so jealous. I grew up in Madrid. Lucky you! Pls have some churros con chocolate...delicioso!
Hey, fellow ENFP-T here🙋 is it actually possible to score high in both volatility AND withdrawal as well? 😅 Both of what you explained in the video unfortunately feels super familiar to me, although I resonated more with the volatility part 🤔
I wouldn't know, but I did the same. Just like everything in life, you look at it, decide it's worth, and then file it where it needs to go. In the case of my own Meyers-Briggs enfp-t/a, it went up on the mental cork board and then got covered up with my to-do list.
pls use the translator cause idk how to say this in english: basicamente o teste não diz se vc é A ou T, isso só mostra nas porcentagens. o que eles explicam lá se encaixa pra qualquer ENFP, por isso eles colocam assim.
I appreciate the video, but T is for turbulence and A is for assertive. Nowhere is Withdraw mentioned in the original test description. Assertiveness is definitely not related to hesitating to make a change and quitting a job. To be honest, which ENFP cares about quitting a job at all? P is prospecting, other than planning. All Ps are spontaneous as fk.
I have been known, on more than one occasion, to quit jobs I've been at for years and move to a different state. Always I was looking for a change, and it isn't ever as smooth as I'd like, but it is what it is. -T is tempered by experience. To be honest, I wish I could have been an I instead of E, but again, it is what it is.

It is made, and will be released soon :)
@@enfp Awesome! I'm looking forward to it 😊
Sometimes I film a bunch of videos and reference one another without planning it out...
Yo tengo que saber, me está matando ( second edit) I’m also from Canada , never left the country before even tho I want to, just thought I’d mention it.. idk why
Enfp here glad to find a vid on this ❤️
WAS WAITING FOR THISS!!!!
THANKS 😌🤩👍
Compared to me, you seem super assertive. Lol. My assertiveness is quite low because my neuroticism is high (lifelong anxiety & depression w/ PTSD features)
Fasting do help control volatility, no?
I got campaigner personality ENFP-T
Also D.B.T ( dialectical behavioural therapy)
do you have a link where the neuroticism is talked about/the meaning of that for an ENFP-T by chance?
I have adhd and ocd so my results always change between infp and enfp, I really don’t know which one I am
But what if you are pretty high in volatility and low/middle ine withdrawal? The test says turbulent tho😅
That 89% turbulence is killing me. Life is quite a struggle for me.
I have been been pretty consistent getting ENTP or ENFP-T are these types similar?
I got 96% of T 😂 ENFP anxious af
Which test is it?
100% here. Psychotic Depression can be a kick in your balls.
I got 85% 😂 lets be anxious together!
essentially, ENFP-T is kind of like being an INFP?
Oh man thank you for this.
I honestly feel like the T for me comes from trauma. Having bad childhood experiences for me makes me more cautious tho when im in a good place in life I do go for things way more. I am most volatile also during a sad period of my life like covid. Honestly when im in a good place I am not. Ppl tell me im so chill all the time
Such a good video Dan, thanks!
Question, why do i hate to be told what to do when I know it's not a big deal🤔
Three months ago I was an A and now I’m a T...did I just down graded?
Your traits can change based on how you feel and how life is going at the moment. Being dominant in one trait doesn't mean we never express the less dominant trait.
Definitely scared of new things BUT I jump in and do them... while I do them I'm constantly saying how I don't want to or am scared until I do it loool.
Im enfp-t but actually feel zero anxious about trying out new things. Is the test maybe wrong? On the other side I’m very emotional tho haha
Wow thank you, this makes so much sense 😱
You're welcome :)
I clicked on this so fast!
Happy new year!
I took a test on 16personalitys and this is the one I got
Does it sounds like you? :)
Can you Make an POV ENFP Daily Life
Woo hoo! High on neuroticism! Winnning! diagnosed with Hyperactivity when I was a kid. On Ritalin from about age 7-10? 11?
T = turbulent af ;)
i’ve scored both, ENFP-A in 2018 and ENFP-T in 2021
Thank you for explaining this! I clicked so fast hahaha
Really appreciate this video! ❤️😊
Thank you!
What about an INFJ-T guy and ENFP-T girl?
I am an ENFP-A and ENFP-T. Is that common? Love love love your elephants, by the way.
Can you do one for enfp-a?🥺
He already did: th-cam.com/video/MmpMdBHXdoA/w-d-xo.html
@@marjolijnvandenberg401 Thanks, I missed that one. (I'm trying to spend less time online these days.)
my girlfriend is an ENFP and I love her so much :"}
(I'm an INFJ btw)
Dreams around the world. Is that a travel related?
I was fighting with, am I a INFP? But I checked more extroverted.
I'm so jealous.
I grew up in Madrid. Lucky you! Pls have some churros con chocolate...delicioso!
Does your shirt match the wall on your right side? 😁
When I was younger I'd jump into things with all the confidence in the world, as I've got older I'm very withdrawn, everything makes me nervous haha 😅
That's how the life is :)
Hey, fellow ENFP-T here🙋 is it actually possible to score high in both volatility AND withdrawal as well? 😅 Both of what you explained in the video unfortunately feels super familiar to me, although I resonated more with the volatility part 🤔
Yes, that's possible.
What if you've scored T/A? What the heck do you do with that?
I wouldn't know, but I did the same. Just like everything in life, you look at it, decide it's worth, and then file it where it needs to go. In the case of my own Meyers-Briggs enfp-t/a, it went up on the mental cork board and then got covered up with my to-do list.
I'm a turbulent, as the test said, but not that much. I guess that is a phase bc of my hormones (I'm 15 btw)
I'm an ENFP-T bc of the fact I'm neurodivergent with autism, ADHD, anxiety and depression
I am very high in Volatility and very low in Withdrawal. You don't wanna try this at home... Or anywhere... 😂😂
Wait until the video where I go through my own results...we may be similar ;)
Very high on volatility and not medium to low in withdrawal, I hear you
Same here!!
I score ENFP-A and naively thought dating an ENFP-T would be smooth. It was not.
How do I make friends? 🤔
1:57 i clocked out too many big words
Wow, u are literally me
I wonder why no one talks about us.
I do :)
the site said I was an ENFP-A / ENFP-T... what is that suppose to mean haha
pls use the translator cause idk how to say this in english:
basicamente o teste não diz se vc é A ou T, isso só mostra nas porcentagens. o que eles explicam lá se encaixa pra qualquer ENFP, por isso eles colocam assim.
Ahh you’re in Spain! My favorite country
In Portugal now. :)
dis is me yikes the T lmao
Huh. Lol. I always thought A was confidence and T was like no confidence. Lol.
Edit: An ENFP is one of the cursed types. 😹
Nope we're awesome :)
@@enfp Yup!
Enfp for life
Yeees!
I know what the site has branded this as, but I'm explaining what it really is and what their test is based on.
Ou boy I'm an ENFP and I definitely have a temper lol
100% T - where can i score well in something that is good ._.
