Thank you. Now I am so homesick :) 52 years in America and one thing I miss is those iced buns. We used to get them from the bakers when we were kids. I always chose the ones with pink icing. Isn't England the most beautiful place on earth? I think it is.

@@21972012145525As a former senior paraprofessional , I do prefer the library. However, as time goes by the “classics” are being replaced by more current fare. It is a frustration for me. Contemporary books are written at a fifth grade level and contain slang, and language that I prefer not to use nor read. I read older books. I learn new words as I used to learn in high school than in today’s books. English is beautiful. Sadly, we have made it too casual as we have with our dress and behavior. Thanks for YOUR support of libraries. Sadly, libraries are now media centers, DVD’s and CDs rival books. Nothing can replace a book held in the hands. Best wishes.
Windsor and the river are one of my favourite places to visit, over the bridge to Eton where many a famous person has trod. 😊 sets your imagination alight!
Two hints for younger women: Start a list of every single book you read, so you can revisit the memories. I am older but plan to make my list an artful project. Using colored pencils/pens to decorate my list. If you have children around, mix up a little sugar water for them to dip their index finger and go to any flower where a butterfly has lit and it will get on to their finger. Delightful.

Awww Jennifer I'm in England too!! From Australia though. I'm in Brighton for 2 weeks 🇬🇧🇦🇺🦘😘 I'm mesmerised by the bumble bees! We don't have bumble bees in Australia! I was soooo excited to see some! I'm the same as you, I always love to see the different foods and brands and walking around. I especially love listening to the birds (I call them the "Doodly Doodly" birds 😂 because of the sound of their songs) as they sing and I feel like I'm in a Jane Austen book or movie hahaha...Very different sound to the Australian birds 🐦 ❤

Hi Jennifer. I am absolutely loving your UK vlogs. I live in North London now but grew up on the SW London/Surrey borders near Wimbledon. I find it fascinating what differences you pick up on and what you choose to film when you visit England, although I know you are hardly a stranger to it! I'm a similar age to you and it was really common to spend a lot of time going 'round the National Trust houses on days out when we were kids. I think it's ingrained into the British psyche to love an old castle or church! If you haven't been, Sissinghurst castle is really lovely and so is Charleston House the home of the Bloomsbury Set. If you can get down to the coast, Rye is a beautiful seaside town with excellent restaurant, lots of history and some wonderful walks - probably only about an hours drive from you. There's a nice vineyard on the way down called Tillingham Wines which has a very high-end restaurant but also an outdoor pizzeria in an open side barn. The Surrey hills / East Sussex area is just so beautiful and very rich culturally. Oh and yes, that Greek yoghurt is fab! x

I am laughing as I watch this as I have a virtually identical shopping haul as you, bar the baguette. Don't you just LOVE the fruit in England? I'm OD-ing on it whilst visiting from New Zealand. And I agree re the range of butterflies and moths. Try to get to Wicken Fen while you're here if you can.
She’s the wrong side of the M25 for Wicken Fen. I’m about 20 minutes from there by car. Whenever I’ve been to Windsor it’s a very long day out and the traffic can be awful on the London orbital so presumably it’s the same in reverse! That said it’s possible in a day but it’s a much smaller visitor attraction than Windsor. I’ve also been in Waitrose today and picked up some of the same groceries 😁

I am laughing as I watch this as I have a virtually identical shopping haul as you, bar the baguette. Don't you just LOVE the fruit in England? I'm OD-ing on it whilst visiting from New Zealand. And I agree re the range of butterflies and moths. Try to get to Wicken Fen while you're here if you can.
She’s the wrong side of the M25 for Wicken Fen. I’m about 20 minutes from there by car. Whenever I’ve been to Windsor it’s a very long day out and the traffic can be awful on the London orbital so presumably it’s the same in reverse!
That said it’s possible in a day but it’s a much smaller visitor attraction than Windsor.
I’ve also been in Waitrose today and picked up some of the same groceries 😁
