    What do you think I should charge for this piece? As I mention near the end of the video, I wasn't over the moon about this piece. Over 500? 300? Under 1000? Include shipping in the price? They are heavy! Let me know what you think, I really want to know what you think!!

      $500? I think your work is worth more than that but people can be cheap! Depends your customer base youve developed and do they appreciate the work or respect the process.

      I've seen a paint pouring channel, beautiful soul but has a very nasty adversary. I came across some of her gorgeous work, with so many dislikes, one with 500!!! Clearly there was a campaign against her. I let her know, she hadn't noticed but looked into it and was able to see they were all subscribers to her rival. So sad, the other lady is way more popular on TH-cam and should have had no reason to Ne jealous but there we have the human race. Personally I'd never give a thumbs down on anyone as art is subjective. Actually as soon as I turn on video I hit like mainly so I know if I've seen it before when I find it again! ❤

    Katherine, these are absolutely gorgeous!! I've experienced the yellowing myself and would also like to know why. It just looks golden, like it was done on purpose. Your transparency towards the end about believing in your art, 😭. It encouraged me! It's so easy, like you said, to get down on yourself when you see so many beautiful pieces of art on social media and it can distract you and even discourage you. Thank you for always staying true to yourself and sharing your passion with us! I've grown so much as an artist and I can honestly attribute alot of that growth to your tutorials.
    Sorry so long. 🤐 (and I usually charge per square inch. .75c to a dollar depending on materials.)❤

      Thank you so much for your comment, and for watching the video til the end to hear that message 😂. Thank you for watching and for your comment, it really helped me and lifted me up ❤

    Do you all think that the quartz is not really white itself and put next to white it looks more yellow? That’s what I think because I’m certain the quartz has a dingy sheen that you can really pick up on in certain circumstances.
    As always I love you’re piece and thanks for inspiring all of us.😁💚

    Gorgeous!! Even though the stones yellowed a bit, it still looks great. With resins that don’t have ultra UV protection, things can yellow. Also, depending on how old your resin is, that can cause yellowing. I’ve been told to make sure to keep resin for no more than 6months.
    I always use Stone Coat Countertops Art resin. The UV protection is amazing, and it has a long working time for large projects. I’ve used it for almost 2 hours w/out issues. And I’ve never ever had any yellowing. Only thing I will say it it sometimes seems to produce more bubbles.... not always, but sometimes. And I find myself popping bubbles every 15min or so for the first 30-45 min just to be extra cautious.
    I might be completely wrong with the yellowing....I’m assuming the resin might have something to do with it. Or, like you said, maybe hot glue.

    • @DryerDaysArTsTuDiO
      @DryerDaysArTsTuDiO  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you Morgan!! I was using ArtResin which usually hold up pretty well on the UV side for me. But I do love Stone Coat as well! Great stuff

  • @carriebeavers-lp5qc
    @carriebeavers-lp5qc ปีที่แล้ว

    What kind of resin are you using? That may have caused the yellowing, but then again blue and resin may not work well together.

    This is just stunning. You make it look so effortless. As for pricing, I have problems figuring that out myself, but I think this piece would be fair at the $500+ range. You put so much into it. Plus find out how much to ship it in the US and add that amount in. I find people like to buy things if there is free shipping.

    • @DryerDaysArTsTuDiO

    I would think include shipping and charge more. This is beautiful! The yellowing looks like a light, delicate gold. I think it is stunning. I really understand what you are saying about not your favorite piece. I have a beach scene and my friend would like to have and and I don't want to give it to her because it isn't something I want people to think that is how I make resin art. Ugh.

    • @DryerDaysArTsTuDiO
      @DryerDaysArTsTuDiO  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I had probably about an ounce and a half still run off. If you wait until your resin is thicker, or if you add a lot of pigments or glitters to the resin it'll thicken it up so it stays put. Also if you use way less resin and just pour it where you want it. I will actually show this in a video next week. I wanted this one to almost flow like a river with the movement in there, so I wanted it to really flow over. I hope that made sense lol! Thank you for watching!

    Maybe when the resin hits the rocks/crystals it brings out a natural yellowing that's in the rocks/crystals. You know when you get a rock wet then you see all of the different colors of the rock but when it's dry everything's a lot more subdued. I'm just taking a stab at it.
