One other thought - I use (very old-style) spring-loaded wooden clothes pegs rather than the plastic ones (such as you were using, and which,, I must say, provided a nice humorous show of popping off the fuselage periodically), and my impression is that the wooden ones have a little more "grip" than the plastic ones do, when trying to clamp plastic parts
Dear Tron, I may subject the pegs to a series of tests in order to find out which is better at gripping and also possibly which peg can throw a small component further when it jettisons the test piece! Thanks for taking the time again- I do appreciate your thoughts. Kind regards, Z
I'm working on the Jadlam group build Airfix Spitfire Mk.XII (decent kit) right now, but next in line is a TSR2 inspired by your build of a year of so ago; although in this case the 1:72 version. Your detailing is giving me food for thought...
Dear Finsbury, These older kits are less detailed and give the modeller some things to do if one wishes to avoid a rather bare interior. I’ll be interested to know how you fare with a 1/72 TSR2! Thanks for coming along once again- good to hear from you! Regards, Z
Zin, I really liked the work on detailing the wheel wells, and would be interested to see what you would choose to do with the actual gear (oleo struts, wheels, etc.). Also, did you ever work out an approach to attaching the wings so that they have the same dihedral (even if it's 0 degrees) on both sides, given the absence of a pass-through wing spar?
Dear Tron, From what I see, there will need to be some additional pipe work, but probably not to the same extent as on the TSR2. As far as the wings go, it will be a challenge. The fit is not excellent so I think I may use white cap glue and set them approximately for five or ten minutes before then setting them more permanently. As to the method? Skyhooks I think might work… Kind regards, Z
Have fun with this build and the fuselage seams. Looking good 👍
Dear David,
Thanks for taking a look- there are a few small steps to sort out but it should be ok as the halves have bonded well.

Z
It's given me some idea's. Got 4 canberra's in the stash. Thank you.
Dear Mark,
Four eh? Well, I am pleased that something you saw here helped, thanks for looking in on my corner of modelling land!!
