Weird I made it to the clutch removal part and kept saying to myself why waste money on this stuff when he's a big boy. Not being a dick, but cmon. I can see doing all this if u were 180-200lb
@@kwmiked😂 you guys need to realize it’s more about doing something interesting to the snowmobile than it is losing weight from it, I can do everything on a 4 stroke Yamaha that I can do on this sled so weight really isn’t an issue.
@@kwmikedthe waste of money is debatable though, most of the work is rotating mass loss which is horsepower gained, if there was much option for other power short of big bore or a turbo I would have done that instead but I would have gotten the same comments 😂
I’ve gotten to the point where I hardly buy blue anymore, using a small amount or red everything will still come back out, green is where you go seriously wrong
Id say u should have this clutch rebalanced after add all this light hardware, probably one of the reasons they blow apart when guys change all this stuff and throw it back together. No line up marks to look for on these?
True as well, I’m not going to personally because I’m not worried about it, I’ve had them blow apart stock, that’s what poor manufacturing, quality control and heat will do sometimes
Where did you put the heat to on the primary clutch to remove the OEM 6 bolts? I couldn't get them out with heat worried I would temper some of the other parts.
I spun on the first one so didn't bother changing them. I put good heat to it as well so was worried about tempering some other of the casting. Thanks for letting me know.
We used to have a 19 alpha that was get hot very easily while trying to get to the deep snow. How is the new machine? It looks like it still doesn’t have a cooler in the tunnel like Polaris or skidoo. Do you see it getting warm easy?
So far I haven’t had much of an issue with cooling, about the same as the skidoo I owned last year, as long as you get off the side of the road a little it stays cool
Ya, that’s one of my biggest issues with cat, they need better cooling. No problems when u get to the good snow but on the crappy trails up it can be frustrating if there’s no snow off to the side. And from what I can tell the catalyst heat exchanger on the M is even smaller than the previous model, so I can’t see it being any better. I pulled the short heat exchanger out of my alpha and put in a longer one, big job but it makes a big difference
Am I missing something here? Lightening up the sled wasting money basically. U could lose 20lb easily and save money on big meals. Not being a dick but cmon. Kinda pointless
This is true, but rotating mass is horsepower to the ground however much it might be is irrelevant, the point of this sled was doing small little things to see what a 600 will accomplish, every sled I own is modded to the moon besides this one
Stoked to see what you make of this thing.
Stoked to see what you can make this thing do this winter!
typically when dealing with such small weights i remind myself I too, could lose 20lbs. lol
Yeah he’s pretty big for worrying abt bolt weights

Dud blue lock tight is good red lock tight is for when you never want to take it back apart

A little around the spider and a little on the heads of the bolts, they didn’t come out easy at all
They were borderline ready to spin out once they broke loose

What is that clutch compression tool, and where can I find one?
It is made by starting line products
