    Would this be activated if you LKA camera/sensor was stolen or removed?

    • @Dashboardwarninglights
      @Dashboardwarninglights  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @rustyshackleford4876
      The forward collision warning system typically relies on sensors located in the front of the vehicle, separate from the lane-keeping assist (LKA) camera/sensor. While removing the LKA camera/sensor might affect other safety features like lane departure warning, it shouldn't directly trigger the forward collision warning light. However, it's best to consult your vehicle's manual or a mechanic for specific information about your car's system.

      After removing the positive and negative cables from the battery, connect the two cables together by touching the positive cable connecter to the negative cable connector for at least 5 minutes. This will clear all codes. then reconnect the cables to the battery, positive first negative last.

      If the Forward Collision Warning (FCW) light turns on and the system disables after some time of driving, it could indicate a few potential issues:
      👉 Sensor Blockage or Malfunction: The FCW system relies on sensors (often located at the front of the vehicle) to detect obstacles. If these sensors become blocked by dirt, debris, or snow, or if they malfunction, the system might initially work but fail as you drive. Checking and cleaning the sensors might resolve the issue.
      👉 Overheating Sensors: In some cases, sensors might overheat, especially after prolonged use of the car. This could temporarily impair their function until they cool down.
      👉 Electrical Issues: Fluctuations or faults in the vehicle’s electrical system could cause intermittent failures. This might be due to loose connections, aging wiring, or problems with the car’s onboard computer.
      👉 Software Glitch: The system's software may have a glitch that causes it to shut down after a certain period of operation. A software update from the dealership could potentially fix this.

    My 2018 kona has this issue and it drives very slowly! Help me

    • @Dashboardwarninglights
      @Dashboardwarninglights  26 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @Foscadamus
      When the forward collision warning light is on in your 2018 Hyundai Kona and the vehicle is driving very slowly, it's essential to address the issue immediately as it can impact both safety and drivability. Here’s what you should do:
      ✅ Possible Causes
      👉 Sensor Issues: The forward collision system relies on sensors, which can be obstructed, misaligned, or malfunctioning.
      👉 System Malfunction: There may be a problem with the forward collision warning system itself, requiring diagnostic checks.
      👉 Braking System: The system might be activating the brakes or limiting speed to prevent a perceived collision.
      👉 Software Glitch: There could be an issue with the vehicle's software or electronic control unit (ECU).
      ✅ Immediate Steps
      👉 Check for Obstructions: Inspect the front of your car for any obstructions, such as dirt, ice, or debris, that might be blocking the sensors. Clean the sensors and cameras located near the front bumper and windshield.
      👉 Restart the Vehicle: Turn off the engine, wait for a few minutes, and then restart the vehicle. This might reset the system temporarily.
      👉 Drive Carefully: If the warning light persists, drive cautiously to avoid potential hazards. Keep a safe distance from other vehicles and avoid heavy traffic until the issue is resolved.
      ✅ Actions to Take
      1. Inspect the Sensors:
      👉 Check for Physical Damage: Look for any signs of damage or misalignment to the sensors or cameras.
      👉 Ensure Cleanliness: Make sure the sensors are clean and unobstructed.
      2. Consult the Owner’s Manual:
      👉 The owner’s manual might provide specific steps for dealing with a forward collision warning light and could suggest temporary fixes or resets.
      3. Professional Diagnosis:
      👉 Visit a Mechanic: Schedule a visit to a certified mechanic or Hyundai dealership for a thorough inspection and diagnostic check. They can read the error codes and determine the exact cause of the issue.
      👉 Diagnostic Tools: Technicians will use specialized tools to diagnose any problems with the forward collision system, braking system, or electronic control modules.
      4. Avoid DIY Fixes: Due to the complexity of modern vehicle safety systems, it’s generally not advisable to attempt fixes on your own without proper diagnostic tools and expertise.
      ✅ Long-Term Solutions
      👉 Software Update: The dealership may update your vehicle's software to address any glitches or bugs in the system.
      👉 System Calibration: If the sensors are misaligned, a professional can recalibrate them to ensure they function correctly.
      👉 Component Replacement: If there are faulty components, such as a defective sensor or control module, they may need to be replaced.
      ✅ Safety Tips
      👉 Don’t Ignore the Warning: Forward collision systems are crucial for safety. Ignoring the warning light can increase the risk of accidents.
      👉 Use Manual Controls: If your vehicle has a manual override for the collision system, use it cautiously and follow the manufacturer’s guidelines.
      👉 Avoid Disabling the System: Disabling the forward collision system without resolving the issue can leave you without important safety features.
      Summary
      When the forward collision warning light is on and your Hyundai Kona is driving slowly, it’s critical to address the issue promptly by checking for sensor obstructions, restarting the vehicle, and consulting a professional for a thorough diagnostic check. This ensures your vehicle remains safe and functional.

    • @Dashboardwarninglights
      @Dashboardwarninglights  หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @PASHATHELION
      When the forward collision warning light appears on your dashboard after a windshield replacement, it typically indicates that the forward collision system, which relies on cameras and sensors mounted near the windshield, is malfunctioning or misaligned. Here are some specific steps to address this:
      👉 Verify Installation: Confirm that the new windshield is the correct type for your car and that it was installed properly. Some windshields have special coatings or features that are necessary for the proper operation of advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS).
      👉 Software Reset: Sometimes, a simple reset of the car’s computer systems can clear up any warning lights or errors. This can be done by disconnecting the battery for a few minutes and then reconnecting it, but check your car's manual or consult a professional before trying this.
      👉 Recalibrate the Sensors/Cameras: After replacing the windshield, the sensors and cameras may need recalibration. This is crucial because the alignment might have been altered during the windshield replacement. You should take your car to a dealership or a professional repair shop that has the equipment to perform the recalibration.
      👉 Check for Obstructions: Ensure that there are no obstructions, dirt, or residue on the windshield that might be blocking the sensors or cameras.
      It's crucial to address this issue promptly to ensure your vehicle's safety features are functioning properly.

      @sherrid5315
      It's definitely concerning that the collision warning light has come on without any apparent reason, especially since it's happened multiple times. Since your car is relatively new and has low mileage, there's a good chance it could still be under warranty. Taking it to the shop for inspection is the best course of action. They can diagnose the issue and determine if it's covered by the warranty. It's always better to address these warning lights promptly to ensure the safety and proper functioning of your vehicle.

    I have a 2019 His son Leaf.
    My lane departure light and collision warning light come on together.
    It's under a warranty with the Main dealer. Twice now I have picked the car up and told multi fault codes have been cleared and it's ok to go.But after driving for around two miles the problem returns.
    So it's back with them for a third time. I have take photos of the dash, because when you switch off the problem cleares..Getting fed up of being fobbed off now.
    I asked about a faulty sensor, but was told the sensors are ok...

    • @Dashboardwarninglights
      @Dashboardwarninglights  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @GaryRobinson-sm8tz Since the problem persists even after the dealer has supposedly cleared fault codes, it's important to keep pressing them for a proper solution. Your idea about a faulty sensor could still be valid, even if they've told you the sensors are okay. Don't hesitate to ask for a thorough inspection and perhaps even request a second opinion if necessary. Your persistence will hopefully lead to a resolution.

      Update.after no contact from the dealer, I went there myself. And then told it's waiting for a part..What part I asked and was told , A forward lane sensor unit , the one in the windscreen.. I was told to expect the part next week..We shall see if it's this what's causing the problem. I still think it's the forward sensor behind the front Nisson badge..as both warning lights come on. And before I took the car to the dealers I had switched off the lane sensor and I still got the collision light on the dash

    Where are the forward sensors?

    • @Dashboardwarninglights
      @Dashboardwarninglights  29 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @jonitaite6800 Forward sensors are typically located at the front of a vehicle or machine and include various technologies such as radar, lidar, ultrasonic, and cameras. They are usually positioned in strategic locations like:
      Front Bumper: Common placement for radar and ultrasonic sensors for detecting obstacles and assisting in parking.
      Grille: Often houses radar sensors to aid in adaptive cruise control and collision avoidance.
      Windshield: Camera sensors for lane-keeping assistance, traffic sign recognition, and forward collision warning.
      Side Mirrors: Can contain cameras or sensors to cover blind spots and provide additional forward-looking coverage.
      Front Fenders: Sometimes used for side-facing sensors that still have a forward-looking component for detecting cross-traffic.
      These placements ensure that the sensors can effectively monitor the area in front of the vehicle or equipment to enhance safety and operational efficiency.
