What I just dont understand with the whole max bill bradning is why this watch costs less than the automatic version but has three times the features. Maybe I am just lacking the knowledge but can you explain?

Quartz/solar watches have a mechanism that is much cheaper to manufacture, even though it is more accurate that a traditional automatic one. Automatic watches have very complex tiny mechanical parts, that will require maintenance from time to time.
