Good Evening, and Happy New Years everyone! On July 29th, on my way back from my annual trip to europe in 2024 I flew with Lufthansa starting in Dublin and headed to Newark with a layover at Lufthansa's largest hub in Frankfurt, Germany. I ended up upgrading to Business Class despite being originally booked in economy so I could experience Lufthansa's 747 upper deck! I hope you enjoy the video!

Happy New Years everybody! I decided to get one last video out before 2024 ends, and I decided to treat you guys with a 747 video! EDIT: the aircraft is supposed to be 11 years old but I accidentally only put 1, my mistake.

That's such a beautiful plane. Great price on the overall trip and even more worth it since nobody was seated beside you! We written commentary, quality editing and production value. Maybe one day we will hear a voice over! That welcoming EWR carpeted baggage claim area, so modern and open but the carpet is so odd. Great video. Happy New Year!

Last time I flew on Lufthansa’s 747 upper deck Business class was a few years ago. I see they still have the 2-2-2 layout which isn’t the best if you’re a solo traveller. The overall experience was fine, (the food on this video looks better than what I remember) however it was nothing special and not as good as A.F. which is now my choice for my usual long haul. Thanks for the upload. 😊

These flights to the east coast are just not long enough to enjoy the full hospitality on board. Nice video 😊 I have been on a Qantas 747-400 in 2004

Happy New Year! I was just in Frankfurt last month. By far my favorite aircraft which I have flown many times is the 747. I recall flying 747 TWA, Pan-Am and British Airways in the 1980s - 1990's. Back when you were treated with respect and care....even in coach. Nowadays, I've since retired but travel often. Since I reside in Dallas, TX I naturally fly mostly AA for international and domestic. Sadly, it's tough to get on any 747 in the One World Alliance...unless I fly on JAL. But I do love your video and thanks for posting!
I would give anything to be able to fly on an Original TWA 747 across the atlantic, reminisicent of the golden age.

I rode Air New Zealand from LAX to AUK in October 1994, -300 going and -400 coming back. It was my first and only trip out of the US.
I was supposed to fly on the -8 from EWR to FRA in November 2023 (seat 86K). The plane we were scheduled on had some issues so they swapped it out with a -400 which meant some moving around of seat assignments due to the smaller upper deck. The service was fantastic and the seat set-up was "just ok" for a business class product. I was a little disappointed with "nuts in a bag" vs headed nuts in a proper bowl. I'm really looking forward to the Allegris upgrades on their other big planes over the few years. I have flown economy though in the LH 747-230 back in 1989 and 1990 and the -8i in 2017. Still a great airplane!!!

The storage bins might be nice but having no direct aisle access in half the seats is a big minus to me.
@@PierceHaviland I get it. Allegris is much better and I plan to review that product in 2025! I lucked out with a free seat next to me.

La Compagnie is also a more affordable all-business class to Europe, but with their small fleet of A321neo's, they only fly to Paris-Orly, Nice and Milan, from Newark. The food looked amazing and the service seemed great. The restroom looked very cramped. The seat did not look fully flat, or was that just the way you had it?
@@NJ_Cruiser it was fully lie flat, but it wasn’t the most spacious. I agree LC is good but I doubt I’ll ever fly them.
What a pity that Lufthansa will be retiring the 747s and 340s later this year
Service looked pretty good but you shouldn't expect anything less despite the lowish cost of the flight, unfortunately economy is still pretty ordinary.
Kann man in der LH 747-8 BC die eigenen Kopfhörer mit Bluetooth verbinden oder ist dazu der 3.5mm Klinkenstecker zu verwenden? Danke vorab.

Nice video! Yes, I’ve been on many 747s, beginning 1974, TWA JFK-LAX. Many others too: TWA, Lufthansa, Delta, El Al. Unfortunately, I was also on the aircraft, many years before the crash, that eventually became TWA 800, which I didn’t realize until years later when I was digitizing old slides. th-cam.com/video/PAvNdmYNjiQ/w-d-xo.htmlsi=CYFsjEYTcp-CywhC. I was only on the A-340-600 once, and it was nice, but my most vivid memory is of the downstairs lavatories! I just recently flew on my first A-350 in October, two months ago. Also very nice, but I actually prefer the 787; it’s quieter in the cabin, and you barely feel any turbulence, perhaps because of the wing-flex? Idk.

@ It was very creepy to discover. It was in a tray of old slides that I was digitizing. When I saw the serial number, I wondered which aircraft was in the accident. So I googled it. It was chilling, but it happened more than ten years after I flew on it. And then another 20 years when I realized the coincidence.

Did they give matress cover? Served hot breakfeast cold and even not apologized? Sad for LH and Germany. The culture of discipline is down the slope! It is good that u have something to write.
@@omurtaskin4560 it was fine to be honest, they didn’t give me a mattress cover no, but this is business class not first.
Lufthansa its not an airlines its a bus company their seats are very old and no privacy and the meal presentation its very poor!
