I just located your channel today and I must say I’m full of laughter. As a bus driver in Central, Fl. I’ve seen & heard it all as well.
You are a amazing bus driver !!!!! You are so sweet and. Hilarious!!! Keep it up !
I love your channel! I too am a school bus driver.. Haven't worked but a few hours since March 16th... It's going to be a long summer. Hopefully, we get back to work in mid August.
Happened to me within my first 6 months of driving. It was a glass marble, and when I tried to stop him when he was getting off the bus to talk to him he slapped me in the face. Unfortunately my bus didn’t have cameras so it was my word vs his. I ended up quitting not long after and didn’t drive school bus for 3 years after. Just got back into it and I’m loving it again.
Miss Hood, despite the humor of the camera catching all, you did the right thing by writing this student up and moving them to the front. What you said in this video is very reminiscent of a speech by Mr. Terry on the "Tolley Cruiser" years ago after a paper wad was thrown and hit him. That paper wad laid on the dash behind the manual jackknife door arm for months as a reminder not to do this and since he did not see who threw it, we all got assigned seats....away from our buddies. With my eyesight, you'd think I'd be put in the front but NOOO I was assigned the very back seat. That opened a can of worms from my parents and it finally came out who threw that wad of paper...my cousin! Still SMH on that one. Anyway, glad this incident was very minor. Also, by the sound of your voice I hope you are not catching this flu bug going around. I had it 2 weeks ago it felt like a bus hit me! Stay well, stay safe and watch out for the kiddos and the mean little pranks. Drive safe.
Rebel, I always LOVE your stories. What a hoot . . . that it would be one of your kinfolk! Lol! As adults, we all know the reason you made it to the back of the bus is because you were mature enough to be there OR because it was safe since all the "bad" kids were in the front. @@misshoodsschoolbuslife1871 miss hood the reason you state for me being in the back makes sense with my Hydrocephalus but not with my eyesight. Guess my driver was think more of my shunt getting hit (which has happened, on purpose by my cousins friend on that bus) and me having to back then go to Nashville to get it CT Scanned. The great thing about my "tales of the Tolley Cruiser" are they happened and I lived them.

It’s not the generation, it’s just a bad kid, they’ve always been around. Focus on the good ones. It’s hard, I know, one individual in a group can really make them all look bad. Applies to any group. Stay safe Miss Hood!
Thanks Trevor. Good insight. I remember my first year driving when I wrote a referral that I didn't want to write. I wrote, "Good kid. Bad choice." My boss commented and said, "Isn't that true for all of us?" She was right.

Yes, Dom. It's been rough. My hard drive crashed and I lost my videos. The movie Maker program I was using was no longer available. So, I had to learn how to use the new one. Then . . . I had Larangitis. I'm so glad to be back. Thanks for watching!
If a student did that here, They're banned from riding a bus for the rest of the year.
If they did that here, we wouldn't have any kids on the bus. Lol! Just kidding. Actually, this was the kid's first offense. He has been in an assigned seat for several months. They're just mad at me because I make them follow the rules. Too bad. Miss Hood drives a safe bus!
@@misshoodsschoolbuslife1871 Exactly. One of our drivers got angry at the students because they was cussing and drove the bus back to the middle school and kicked all of them out.
Telluride I threw something back at someone once and I got moved for two years up to the front. I never got kicked off though but I had to sit up front for a long time.

Personally it would scare me and I would jump.
No. It didn't startle me. It shocked me but I kept it together pretty well. I didn't find the earpod until I parked my bus. The kid is in big trouble and his parents have grounded him for a LONG time. Thanks for watching!

I'm so sorry Ms.Hood, That is completely disrespectful. Kids dont understand how much the bus drivers do and they think they are all mean when they are just looking out for you. At least it was only an earbud rubber it could have been worse, These generations are getting crazier. I was born in 03 so it amazes me that parents allow their kids to behave this way. Also are you okay? Your voice sounds a little odd. Keep up the good work though!

Did The Get The Suspended.
I've only had one similar thing happen, but could've been very serious. A very nice, but CLUELESS, kindergartener threw his knit toboggan hat at me. It landed atop my head, fell forward, covering my eyes for just an instant. In traffic, an instant is all it takes. As an added bonus, it was obscuring my vision during a 4-lane "merge right" in a CONSTRUCTION ZONE on the very busy Watterson Expressway.
The little guy just grinned, as if he'd just scored a good hit in a pillow fight. Fortunately, he has good parents, they handled things. My other kids were aghast. "YOU COULD HAVE MADE HIM WRECK AND KILL US ALL"!!
They were a good bunch of kids. Sorry I don't have them any more (that run got merged with another, & a senior-to-me driver picked it).
