I often dream in English until I don't know a specific word then it switches to an other language where I know the word until this happens again (so sometimes it happens that I dream in like 5 languages xD) PS: My native language is German
I usually talk to myself in English (my second language) and I often say things in my head in english to practice the language. I almost never speak to myself in my mother tongue (French), but most of the time, I count in it (even when i'm in class learning another language xD). I don't know why, but I absolutely can't find what day of the week it is in english! I always mix up Tuesday and Thursday, so I find it in french first and then translate it to english in my head. As for other languages, I have been learning Spanish in school for 5 years now, and I am starting to learn Korean. Sorry for the long comment, have a wonderful day :)
I'm a native English speaker but remembering the days of the week in Spanish is so much easier because they're all associated with a planet so I have an association always lol
Interesting. My first language I learned was Spanish and interestingly when I'm frustrated or need to let anger out, I will say something under my breath in Spanish then back to English. I try to think in the language that I've been studying and for dreams, I remember once dreaming speaking Russian but in real life, I don't speak it, peculiar...
I am a mediocre Spanish speaker and I have always been a very vivid and frequent dreamer. I have dreams I'm speaking Spanish pretty rarely but it's so cool when I do. I would have dreams in Spanish even in the period when I went years without speaking or learning Spanish. I'm like damn my brain really does remember this.
I think in English, German and in Korean. It helps when swear words come out while I'm not helping it. I think to talk to yourself is the great step to learn Language.
Since having learnt French, and starting to gain an interest in language learning, I have found myself sometimes talking to myself in French. Or when Im very tired, I will sometimes answer questions in French. This may be due to me being used to using French in a school setting, and always answering questions in it. Im not sure. This happens with Polish as well, though its only with the few phrases I remember from my childhood.
I’ve dreamt in Korean but I’m no where fluency yet 😂 I didn’t understand the words that were being spoken to me but I understood the situation in my dream- the human mind is pretty insane 😂
Oh, when you shared your experience with Korean, I got emotional. The background music really suits this topic. Hey, Lindie. I really want to have some chat with you in Korean. You read the Bible and pray. Well, you are the person I always want to make friends with. Gosh... I really love this topic. May God bless you, my friend.
That's such an interesting video. I usually talk to myself in Arabic (my first language) and English even when I'm not fully awake. I think it is because me and my sister are good at English so it became natural for us to speak both languages from an early age. I feel like I'm better at expressing strong emotions in English, and that's probably because I read so many novels in English. Currently, I'm learning three other languages so I'm trying to make an effort to use each as much as I can.
I was watching the video then thought "i understood everything ! My english became so good !" then realized they were french subtitles ... i read them uncunsciously
Another really interesting video! The only time I ever think in another language is if I speak to someone in another language like French or German. This is such an interesting video though!
For me when I am very emotional or something with my family is going on I express myself in Teochew base with English filling the words I have forgotten (I have almost forgotten the language even though it is my native one. Then English pretty much dominates except when I conciously speak aloud in another language.
So I know that Dutch speakers generally have an easier time understanding Afrikaans than vice versa, but despite the more complex grammatical structure in Dutch, can you pretty much understand it all?
I am studying engineering, so when i am thinking about maths, physics.... I tend to think in french. In wisdom it's almost always in english. Religion and everything else is in arabic.
Well, I'm from Colombia and I've been learning English for six years, and this have been a great expirience where I could grow up slowly. So talking about of the topic, of the language that we talk in our mind whent we sleep, I can say, that I dream in Spanish, my own lenguage and for my surprise in English too. Truthly I don't know if the razon is because of my wish of learnd it or because of to try again and again in conscious in my exercise time. Lindie thanks for your tips. I've been learning a lot because you. God bless you!
Such an interesting topic! Personally I think mostly in Swedish but I often think about my internet life in English, like if I’m thinking about a post I want to write I’ll think about it in English, and emails I think about in Italian. But I also think a lot in just concepts (the internal monologue/thinking thing you were talking about!) but sometimes paired with monologue but it’s like I don’t have to finish the sentence because I already know what I want to say to myself? Idk if that makes sense haha. Take care! 💖
Yeah, that last thing happens to me too. Sometimes My brain goes ahead and finishes verbalizing the thought(s), or sometimes I just give up because I already know what I meant. Typically if it's not that important to me I'll let it go, but if I'm trying to figure something out then I'll make the effort to finish verbalizing because I feel like it helps it stick better (but I don't have evidence for that, it's just a hypothesis). Also if I'm thinking in a non-native language I'm more likely to make the effort I imagine this happens to pretty much everyone, but it's one of those things nobody really talk about. I guess because it's kinda awkward to put into words, but I find it interesting. And it seems to be further evidence that we think in concepts first and then put words to those
for me it depends because i’ve learned korean, chinese, and japanese, but i’m not fluent in any of them. yet, i can dream as if i am fluent...if that makes sense. one night, i had a dream and pentagon was there. basically, yanan got angry at me, so we began arguing in chinese, but yuto decided to join on yanan’s side and start coming for me in japanese, so, you know, i hit him with some japanese fire, aND THEN kino and wooseok started coming for my neck and though overwhelmed, i began arguing in all three languages to the point that the sentence contained all three and the other four became confused so kino asked me what happened in english and i said “all i said was yanan’s pants are too short, but he decided to say i have feet like a man.” and hongseok just comes out of thin air and says “that’s because you do.” and then we begin arguing but this time in english. and as before, yanan, yuto, and wooseok start all coming for me in their native languages. and then hui comes and tells us that e’dawn put a fork in an outlet so he’s like dying and we all just start laughing and then i wake up.
When I dream in a language I'm learning I am also fluent, but of course the actual language that comes up in those cases turns out to be nonsense in the phonology of that language, or sometimes actual words but strung together wrongly or some such. It makes sense, because it'd be strange if you were to suddenly actually be fluent when dreaming if you aren't when awake-although some effect of diminished self-consciousness might come up, similar to how people are always suddenly very 'fluent' when drunk, say. But yeah, I remember dreaming once in Japanese and I remembered an actual word (oitoite!, spoken very cheerfully). I looked it up when I woke up, and of course, it wasn't really a word at all.
i love your channel! i learn japanese, chinese and korean too, it makes me feel better when i'm watching u :D u are inspiration and u are lovely person :)
Very interesting video! I usually think in my native languages. But almost every time when I think about the topic where I mostly use english to talk (for example fandoms/YT/etc) I start to think in english. But it happens in other cases too. Also I few times randomly started a thought in french but my vocab is not okay so it turned into french-english mixture xD But I have never dreamed in foreign languages.
For me it depends on the situation. When I'm all good, like in the mood of fooling around, I tend to think in English. But when I'm thinking something more serious I don't even notice it and start thinking in my native language (Spanish). I dream both in English and Spanish, and seldom in Chinese. And I study in Spanish as my university teaches in Spanish.
hi lindie! im currently studying vietnamese, afrikaans, and russian. i just want to let you know that your videos inspire me and i know that i can know so much in at least 3 months. i also recommend teaching us afrikaans and possibly vietnamese a little bit more! bye have a nice day!
It's the same thing for me I count and pray in Arabic bcz it's my language. I express my feelings in French, and talk to myself in Arabic, French, English, Korean or Spanish it depends 😅
I also got myself dreaming and speaking in English some day, even though I not feel myself fluent yet. I guess that it occurred because in our dreams we don't have those precludes thoughts about our mistakes and sort forth. More or less like when we got drunk.
My native language is English and my second language is American Sign Language. When I was learning American Sign Language I would dream a lot in that language. I am learning Dutch currently and have had times where I thought something up in Dutch. I have dabbled in a few other languages such as Polish, Serbian, German, Swedish, Chinese, and Japanese, but I don't remember them that well anymore since I've been immersing myself in Dutch these days.
I've dreamt in Arabic, and even spoken Arabic aloud in my sleep. I talk to myself in Arabic and Swedish sometimes. Now I'm learning Mandarin so I look forward to thinking and dreaming in that as well!
Korean sneaks into my dreams. Hangul letters and short dialogues. And when I'm talking Spanish works get mixed, then Korean words will pop in my head when I'm trying to speak spanish lol!
This is very fun! For me, I think mostly in English, a lot of times in Korean, eventhough I consider Teochew as my first language and I use Indonesian in daily life. I'm not really sure why but it might be because I'm still learning it and I consider thinking, and talking to myself in those languages as practicing it :D
I mostly think in German (native language), but when I've plans, ideas or I'm just creative English is more common. When I'm dreaming about me, my friends and family it's mostly German. But if the dream's about love and future and stuff it's mostly in English. Counting? Just English! I hate the German numbers so much. It's the same structure like in Afrikaans (Ek leer die taal). For example: German: Einundzwanzig (21) Afrikaans: Een-en-twintig (21) Literally: One and twenty One and twenty My mom's a Spaniard, so when I speak (German) with my Grandma I speak Alemañol (mixture of Spanish and German) like: 65% German and 35% Spanish). So German, English and to some extent Spanish are my "think-languages"
I usually think to myself in English my first language but when I react to something I tend to react in Japanese (my second language) in my head. Also often when I'm talking certain Japanese words or phrases come into my mind first before the English, I guess because they feel like they fit better to express what I'm feeling. I learn a lot through talking and listening so I learn some words that I don't automatically know what they are in English I have to really think about it haha
My mother language is czech but when I am alone I speak to myself in english. I swear in english and have dreams in english. Sometimes I want to recommend some video or article to someone but I can't remember if it was in czech or english. I also speak german but don't really like the language so I had dreams in german only before my final exams and that was nightmare. I'm currently learning korean and I love that language so much. Beautiful language. I love to listen to korean ASMR before going to sleep.
My thinking changed into English when I was immersed in an English only town. Now I have to concentrate and translate the English word to french (my maternal language) but the idiom or sayings are still very much french ones. I don't use English sayings or idioms since I didn't grow up with them.
My native language is Portuguese. I learned how to pray in Portuguese, but I wasn't really interested in religion until my 16s, and only then I started learning about religion -- but I did it all in English. Nowadays, when I pray I do so in English. I have a preference for English for praying and for Portuguese for counting (numbers in Portuguese, specially large numbers, are shorter and thus a lot faster and easier to pronounce). Other than that I think I mostly swap these two languages unconsciously.
I noticed that the more fluent I am in a language, the more I think in images instead of imagening the words or phrases. In Dutch (my native language) I don't believe I ever think while imagening the words (as in like I am reading what I am saying) but in English I do that a lot more often, but I don't do it when I am talking to someone. While in French I basically always imagine the words/phrase(s) both if I am "thinking" and if I am speaking. My best guess is that it has to do with how I learned each language. Dutch I learned completely through listening and speaking (as an illiterate child), English I learned a bit of at school with use of a textbook but also very much through consuming media (films, music, books etc.) And for French I only really got to learn French via a textbook (for grammar, vocabulary and even a part of pronunciation). I wanted to share this because I personally found this quite interesting. (By the way, I can "think" in both English and Dutch).
I am german but because I always read in english, watch english movies, videos,... and listen to english audiobooks i think in english very often. I haven`t learned enough korean and japanese to think in one of these languages but sometimes if I see someting I just learned about in another language I think about it in that language even if it`s just one sentence or a few random words.
I grew up in Germany, so I'd consider German as my native/ home language. My mom is a Spaniard, so I grew up speaking and hearing Spanish as well. In school I learned English, but I'd consider English as my main language. Yes, English. My dreams are in English I count in English I often speak to myself in English I mostly watch English movies ... Of course I express myself better when I'm speaking German, but nevertheless English is my first language. Another interesting aspect is that I'm learning Afrikaans and I tend to pronounce German words in an Afrikaans accent or saying Afrikaans words instead of the German equivalent.
I speak Portuguese and English. For most of my day, I say and think in Portuguese, but I pray in English and Portuguese. I'm trying to change my language knowledge to rationalize more and more in English.
Been seriously studying German for over a year. So, I haven't been multilingual for long. But, already have dreamed in German on several occasions and every great once in a while, I will catch myself thinking in it. It never lasts more than a few seconds, because I realize what I am doing and then my brain won't repeat the trick. One weird thing though is that I now have certain friends or people I have met and interacted with exclusively in German, I sometimes find it really hard to describe something about them or something I experienced with them, in English, because the German adjectives for it are the only thing that seems to fit what or whomever I want to describe. There are also like two things I pray about in German, for the same reason, I can't express without the correct German words. English just doesn't cut it, in these cases.
I dreamt in korean last night. But often dream in russian. Native english second malay, mandarin. Used to listening to japanese (but haven't consciously learn it)
My mother tongue is French. Anything related to months, days, or numbers, I think of them in French. When it comes to emotions, English comes out (perhaps because I learned English by watching TV shows and they often have more emotional conversations in them than I do with my family).
well my motherlang is kurdish which i only use when talking with my mom (im bad at it tho and mix german in) but i never think in kurdish, probably bc i barly use it. I would consider german as my first language bc its the only one im fluent in so i basically mostly think in german. However i find myself thinking in english quite a lot especially expressions (oh well, damn, really now etc ). On the internet its mostly english for me and i use it a lot so it might be the reason i tend to also think in english sometimes. I guess i usually think sth in the language i prefer for a certain sentence, expression etc. so my thoughts are in both english and german pretty often lol
I think, count, dream and pray in my mother language, Spanish. When I'm practicing English or other languages I'm learning, then I start to do all those things in that specific language I'm practicing
Dankie vir die baie interessante video. As a native English speaker I think in English at least 90% of the time, but sometimes I think in Hebrew (a language I'm not even proficient in yet, but which I have a strong emotional connection to), and sometimes when I write personal notes or plans, there will be random German words interspersed throughout the text. I've been proficient in German for the past ~12 years, and sometimes the German word for a concept will come to mind before the English one. Interestingly enough, the only foreign language I've ever dreamt in is Hebrew, even though I'm proficient in German and Spanish and know a decent deal of Hebrew, Polish, and Afrikaans. Also I would argue that the internal monologue is part of thought. Certainly prelingual babies can think, but there is evidence to suggest that recursion is a mental faculty we get from language (see Daniel Everett's work with the Piraha people; also, John Searle wrote some philosophical works on this, though I can't find them at the moment).
I only think in English and in my native language (Romanian). But sometimes when I'm speaking out loud with myself I mix English phrases with French and Italian ones and I don't know why. It happens rarely though.
I'm learning spanish and currently only at a2 level and im starting to dream in spanish with conversations confidently without stopping but out loud I would struggle at doing that. Crazy
I have had dreams in Korean, but I'm not that advanced so everything is really simple except for one time one person was speaking Korean fluently, sounded good and I understood most of it. The thing here it happens to me in real life but is just so strange that it happened in a dream since I'm not fluent
I just recently read about Genie, a severely abused child who was prevented from learning language. She eventually learned to somewhat express herself through fragmented words or pictures but she couldn't form sentences because it was too late for her to learn grammar. It seems impossible to "think" without words though about any abstract subject, like for example, whether it's possible to think without words or language.
I've had dreams in English, Russian and Ukrainian (Polish is my mother tongue). I had them in a period of immersive and fast learning, at the beginning of my study, not now, when I am more advanced, but I have less contact with them. I tend to have my inner monologue in a language which I had latest contact with, providing I'm fluent enough to express my thoughts, if not, some phrases/words in that language sometimes pop out in my mind. Also I find it very difficult to speak ABOUT Russian language in English, I have to struggle not to switch to Russian, and I discover my sentence structre starts to mimic the one in Russian.
Portuguese is my mother language (I'm from Brazil), but I really feel comfortable to talk to myself and think in English. I think that most of the time I think in English [like, 70%], but when I'm talking to myself about things I need to express faster I'll use Portuguese. Sometimes I try to say some phrases in Chinese, and as you told me on instagram last week, I'm trying to practice more my conversation in Mandarin - even though I'm not taking classes this semester. I tend to get really shy to talk in Chinese, but I'll try to get better doing these monologs ^^'
I knew arrogant multilinguals were a stereotype as a multilingual myself (marathi, hindi, English, Japanese) but I can tell you're a humble person it's nice to have the confirmation cause I've always been the odd one out...
Family: Spanish & English Internet: English To myself: Portuguese or French (or any other language I am learning). I can do this one in Irish, and I'm Mexican. I have dreamed in each language I (at least) have knowledge about.
Sometimes when I have a feeling, Korean pops into my head first but I can't understand what I just thought. It's like on the cusp of my subconscious and concious mind if that makes sense, so the words are blurred. Sometimes when I actually catch some of the words, they usually fit the context but sometimes it's super random.
I love your emotion related to Korean language Lindie :) I am also studying Korean for 3 months and I will attend TOPIK exam in may 19. I am also studying basic Indonesian and Russian. But I want to take my Korean language skill into advanced level. I have always followed you.. I love your Korean accent :)
Wow that’s interesting.. So cool! am only bilingual at the moment (working on learning korean tho).. well, when I wake up in the morning, I think I’m mostly Mandarin. Even when I talk to my cats I’ll usually use mandarin when I’m being natural. However, as the day goes on and I go out and socialize with Americans, my brain shifts to English and by night time I usually think in all English. Have you experienced anything like this?
Even though Spanish is actually my first language, my internal dialogue is in English, unless I consciously decide to switch it to Spanish. I think this is because I grew up in Canada, and (somewhat unfortunately) English became my dominant language. I can still understand Spanish 100% when I listen to it, but my vocab is so limited when I speak, especially compared to my English.
European portuguese is better. It's richer but harder to understand. Besides, in Brazil a lot of você this, você that. At least in Portugal, people use tu or just omit the pronoun. Their speech is more natural
We use both, você and tu, i am from south of Brasil and actually i can write more você but when i speak i say tu most of time, it's a regional thing, and a lot of time, we don't say the pronoun too
@@mep6302 European portuguese might sound more natural to you, but also brazilian portuguese sounds "more natural" to over 200 million people, so saying that a variation of a language sounds "more natural" is not a very conclusive argument. Some people might even find that using "você" is better, because it doesn't require you to know more conjugations for "tu". I like European accent, but I would definitely not try to rule which one is better for this or for that. The original poster literally just asked if Lindie has considered learning brazilian portuguese, so I believe bringing up european portuguese is not even relevant in this case.
I think in english and spanish, when I'm watching videos even if they're in spanish I unconsciously speak in English when I answer them because I don't want my brother to know what I'm talking about xD I remember I had a dream in which I spoke english with my favorite singers and I was so happy I knew it because I was the one who could speak english, that was great
IDK I mean I think in English, because it's my mother tongue. But one of my teachers who is from Czechoslovakia and speaks Czech, German, Spanish and English and knows bits of Latin says he thinks in German even though it isn't his mother tongue. Sometimes whenever I cook I think in other languages, but I only cook when I'm high, so that might just be the weed speaking.
I'm a native Spanish and I like writing songs, but for some reason I prefer making the lyrics in Japanese or Korean rather than in Spanish. I mean, long before I wrote lyrics in Spanish, but I never liked the result so I gave up writing lyrics and switched to instrumental music. But when I was starting to study Japanese, I had the idea of writing lyrics as a form of practice and I found out they were much better, at least for my taste. I'm not even very fluent either in Japanese or Korean, mostly because of my poor vocabulary (I'm relatively good with grammar and pronunciation, but vocabulary kills me, so I have to carry a dictionary at all times), but though it's more difficult, I'm always more satisfied with the result, as weird as it may sound.
i think in english because it’s the only language that i speak but i have been learning arabic for about 3 months and when i was about one month in i was going into my sisters room and i almost said hi in arabic which was really weird, i also think i’ve had a dream in arabic
I'm looking forward to read the article you mentioned. As for myself when I'm having monologues I'm always switching between English and Portuguese. But whenever I'm frustrated, or trying to understand or express my feelings it's always English that comes in. Which for me is kind of weird since it is my second language.. For French is a little different. It's not as natural as English, I have to say to myself okay now I want to "think" in french.. Anyway.
You mentioned your thoughts being abstract, do you ever think in still or moving images? Are you able to replicate images by memory as well as sound? I'm curious because I've always had a nack for remembering sound which led me to be good at learning languages, accents, and to also be a naturally talented musician.
I hate thinking about it, because I know it changes once I start thinking about it. But given different situations it's definitely different. I count in French for sure, people always point it out haha
I'm learning French and Spanish and for me, when I talk in my native tongue, I get it twisted sometimes.. I'll be talking in English and suddenly pronounce words the French way unintentionally. also in my dreams I'm speaking these languages
Been learning Korean recently, and I had a dream where I was Korean learning English. I was thinking entirely in Korean, and I couldn’t for the life of me understand English. I have been learning Korean about two weeks lmao.
I'm a French native speaker (Quebecer dialect), but most of my dreams are in English. Some random Spanish words sometimes pop up in dialogues... Idk in my dreams it makes perfect sense now I'm more confused than ever 😂😂
i wonder how the brain chooses to bring up different languages for different situations thats so cool and interesting tbh
simply that is depends on you which languge you chose to use
I was having a dream in French. I don't know French
I've had several dreams in other languages I don't speak hahaha
maybe you were french in another previous life lol
Yh. I've also had dreams like that. I mean I understand a bit if French but I'm not at a fluent level yet I was very fluent in the dream.
I also had a dream in French once.
I often dream in English until I don't know a specific word then it switches to an other language where I know the word until this happens again (so sometimes it happens that I dream in like 5 languages xD)
PS: My native language is German
you're such a cute n sweet person.. I want to learn more languages becoz of you :D
what languages do you want to learn?
Hi Lindie! I want to learn French and Korean. I studied French for 5 years at school but almost forget everything sighhh.. btw 妳的中文很好。。妳很棒!! :)
Your love for languages sparks my little flame to grow a bit brighter :3 whenever I need motivation I come visit your channel 😂😁
same here
I usually talk to myself in English (my second language) and I often say things in my head in english to practice the language. I almost never speak to myself in my mother tongue (French), but most of the time, I count in it (even when i'm in class learning another language xD).
It might have to do with me listening to Russian pop music, I wonder
My first language was spanish but I can't really think in it, it's too difficult :(
I am a mediocre Spanish speaker and I have always been a very vivid and frequent dreamer. I have dreams I'm speaking Spanish pretty rarely but it's so cool when I do. I would have dreams in Spanish even in the period when I went years without speaking or learning Spanish. I'm like damn my brain really does remember this.
💖 This video made me feel so warm-hearted.
When I watch kdramas I just speak to myself in Korean... 😂😭
I sometimes force myself to think in Spanish because I am learning it.
I was watching the video then thought "i understood everything ! My english became so good !" then realized they were french subtitles ... i read them uncunsciously
I know several languages, and I think on my first.
Another really interesting video! The only time I ever think in another language is if I speak to someone in another language like French or German. This is such an interesting video though!
I think your videos are really calming... I love watching them.
It is really interesting that mood and emotions affect the way we think and the way we express things.
Thanks for this inside.
So amazing! And what do you think about Russian? Would you like to learn it?
Thanks from Russia :)

You're my inspiration ^^
Also if I'm thinking in a non-native language I'm more likely to make the effort
I imagine this happens to pretty much everyone, but it's one of those things nobody really talk about. I guess because it's kinda awkward to put into words, but I find it interesting. And it seems to be further evidence that we think in concepts first and then put words to those
for me it depends because i’ve learned korean, chinese, and japanese, but i’m not fluent in any of them. yet, i can dream as if i am fluent...if that makes sense. one night, i had a dream and pentagon was there. basically, yanan got angry at me, so we began arguing in chinese, but yuto decided to join on yanan’s side and start coming for me in japanese, so, you know, i hit him with some japanese fire, aND THEN kino and wooseok started coming for my neck and though overwhelmed, i began arguing in all three languages to the point that the sentence contained all three and the other four became confused so kino asked me what happened in english and i said “all i said was yanan’s pants are too short, but he decided to say i have feet like a man.” and hongseok just comes out of thin air and says “that’s because you do.” and then we begin arguing but this time in english. and as before, yanan, yuto, and wooseok start all coming for me in their native languages. and then hui comes and tells us that e’dawn put a fork in an outlet so he’s like dying and we all just start laughing and then i wake up.
kinggodwon the last part lollll😂
😂
Hi! I have an Afrikaans channel with lessons! Please take a look at: th-cam.com/channels/IedNl4r7Hd8SnXiEjXMbKg.html
You're really great Lindie! I really admire you .... 넌 최고예요. 감사!
It's the same thing for me
I count and pray in Arabic bcz it's my language.
The thought of dreaming in another language sounds amazing! I really hope if I stick with it, someday I will have dreams in Russian 😴
Thank you so much, this question had been haunting me for long time since I'm a multilingual and loner I talk to myself and think a lot
For example:
German: Einundzwanzig (21) Afrikaans: Een-en-twintig (21)
Literally: One and twenty One and twenty
My mom's a Spaniard, so when I speak (German) with my Grandma I speak Alemañol (mixture of Spanish and German) like: 65% German and 35% Spanish).
Hey Lindie i just wanted you to know that you are amazing and you inspired me to start learning Japanese again thank you,ありがとう
im trilingual and I get asked this question so often
My native language is Portuguese. I learned how to pray in Portuguese, but I wasn't really interested in religion until my 16s, and only then I started learning about religion -- but I did it all in English. Nowadays, when I pray I do so in English.
I have a preference for English for praying and for Portuguese for counting (numbers in Portuguese, specially large numbers, are shorter and thus a lot faster and easier to pronounce). Other than that I think I mostly swap these two languages unconsciously.
once I had a telepathic experience with a native English person from South africa
we were speaking with no language
انا افكر بالعربي
My dreams are in English
I count in English
I often speak to myself in English
I mostly watch English movies
...
영상 잘 보고 있습니다~~ 감사해요!!^^
Just WAOW AMAZING ❤️❤️❤️
Awesome video. Thank you for sharing
I knew arrogant multilinguals were a stereotype as a multilingual myself (marathi, hindi, English, Japanese) but I can tell you're a humble person it's nice to have the confirmation cause I've always been the odd one out...
Family: Spanish & English
Internet: English
To myself: Portuguese or French (or any other language I am learning).
I my case I think in Spanish due to is my mother tongue but when I am speaking in English some things come in English
when i am really or sad i am tend to speak in English
which is my 2nd language
I love your emotion related to Korean language Lindie :) I am also studying Korean for 3 months and I will attend TOPIK exam in may 19. I am also studying basic Indonesian and Russian. But I want to take my Korean language skill into advanced level.
I have always followed you.. I love your Korean accent :)
you're amazing :)
I think in French mostly
Do you consider learning brazilian portuguese? Lot of love from Brazil ❤
Mad respect girl... truly inspired. (I'm korean btw)
I think in english and spanish, when I'm watching videos even if they're in spanish I unconsciously speak in English when I answer them because I don't want my brother to know what I'm talking about xD I remember I had a dream in which I spoke english with my favorite singers and I was so happy I knew it because I was the one who could speak english, that was great
I've dreamed in French, Korean, Chinese, and Japanese.
I generally think in English or Korean.
What language do you read your Bible in?
I mostly use my bilingual Japanese and English one.
Great! Are you learning Arabic or Urdu? I just find them really interesting.
Love your videos from Bahrain😀
i think in english because it’s the only language that i speak but i have been learning arabic for about 3 months and when i was about one month in i was going into my sisters room and i almost said hi in arabic which was really weird, i also think i’ve had a dream in arabic
Anyway.
Certainly interesting ❤️
You mentioned your thoughts being abstract, do you ever think in still or moving images? Are you able to replicate images by memory as well as sound? I'm curious because I've always had a nack for remembering sound which led me to be good at learning languages, accents, and to also be a naturally talented musician.
I hate thinking about it, because I know it changes once I start thinking about it. But given different situations it's definitely different. I count in French for sure, people always point it out haha
I'm a native Russian speaker but I'm used to think in English since it's the language I'm really obsessed with 😄
I'm learning French and Spanish and for me, when I talk in my native tongue, I get it twisted sometimes.. I'll be talking in English and suddenly pronounce words the French way unintentionally. also in my dreams I'm speaking these languages
4:05 you're welcome! :D Muahahahah
😂
U r my greatest inspiration.. I wanna be like u
Been learning Korean recently, and I had a dream where I was Korean learning English. I was thinking entirely in Korean, and I couldn’t for the life of me understand English. I have been learning Korean about two weeks lmao.
반가워요..한국인이에요..번역버전도있으면좋겠네요..조금만 이해가서요ㅎㅎ건강하세요
I understand you. Usually when i drink and get dizzy I start speaking Korean ahah
😃😃I'm in love my target languge i try to use it in every case as uch as i can
I'm a French native speaker (Quebecer dialect), but most of my dreams are in English. Some random Spanish words sometimes pop up in dialogues... Idk in my dreams it makes perfect sense now I'm more confused than ever 😂😂
