I had a league race a few months ago with GT cars like Aston Martins and Nissan GTR R35's, these cars are smaller than modern spec F1 cars and I was still stuck behind another car for 4 laps straight losing A LOT of time, and making a kinda risky overtake in the corner at 0:57
@@ryanspencer6778 It is pretty much the only place to overtake and it is still hard... I mean even if you get a good exit on the final corner the straight is too short to get a move done
Zandvoort is a beautiful track, none of those boring endless straight but corners, height differences etc. But for Formula 1 it will suck. Now before all my fellow Dutchman murder me, let me explain. This track is so narrow that you can sit in the middle and nobody can get past you. Overtaking anyone will be a nightmare here. Getting pole here basically means winning unless the team makes a huge strategical errors during the race. Further the track is clearly dated. One lap and you can see that the tarmac needs to be replaced, same with the kerbs and all the safely barriers. That will cost millions alone. Then the facilities of the circuit also need a lot of work. Finally you will need to make the track a lot wider to have good racing. Sure like this it will massively favour cars with extremely good downforce, a.k.a RBR and give Max a good chance to win at home, but other than that it will be boring to watch. The bill will not be for the owner of the circuit, we all know that seeing as he is part of the royal family. To me it looks like a huge waste of public funds to get this circuit up to requirements. As much as I would like a Dutch GP at Zandvoort, it ain't happening. Lets hope Assen gets the GP back to the Netherlands because this will just suck for a race.

Great track for qually and an f1 car pushing to the max (no pun intended), but terrible for racing even if/when it's modified for f1. We don't need another Monaco - it's hard enough to watch 'racing' there except for appreciating the driver skill & the track nostalgia etc (but I do love Monaco on xbox lol). However, I think it's a done deal for 2020 so I'm happy for Max having an official home race (he is Belgian-Dutch) that he could win & at least it won't have all the Monaco celebrities!

A cool track and layout but this needs widening for modern f1, at least 1-2 meters in most places. Fill the tar seal out to the barriers would be kind of cool actually, and make it almost street circuit like.
