It now makes sense why Vanessa couldn't remember that she belonged to the Murata tribe. It's possible that she suffered memory loss because she left Natlan without the protection of the Wayob. The more we uncover about the lore, the more interesting it becomes.

Agreed, the lack of people keeping their memories is likely related to the lack of Leylines which is directly connected to the irminsul. I wonder if this will play a part in some sort of revelation when we find out something big that everyone just "forgot". We recently got hints with the dainslief quest on memory editing so maybe it'll be used here? Who knows but so far natlan has been such a fun place to explore.

Theory: The Ode of Resurrection is a pseudo loom of fate and is a double-edged sword for Natlan. Mavuika mentions that Natlan's leylines are weakening which was why the abyss took more of a foothold on Natlan than other nations. The reason why the leylines are weak is that the primal flame along with the ode of resurrection is a device created by the powers of Xbalanque, the Pyro Authority, the Gnosis and the Shade of Death, thus it can resurrect people by directly changing fate using Natlan's leylines. The primordial flame was eating Natlan's leylines, thus weakening it, in order to change fate and resurrect warriors and keep making new human Archons. Now that the leylines are exhausted, the primordial flame is starving, the pyro Archon now has to surrender her own power to it to keep it going, and the abyss is taking over a weakened land. Skirk says that the Gnosis and the what's left behind by the dead only bring misfortune, thus both the Wayob, the ancient names and the primordial flame are objects of misfortune for Natlan and will spell it's doom rather than save it. It's where Captain comes in, it's pretty obvious that he's deeply invested into Natlan. He's probably a warrior of Natlan that left and lost most of his memories, there's a mention of a boy who was cursed by the sun in one of the books from 4.6 and got shunned by others. He could also be the Pyro Sovereign reincarnation like Neuvillette, using a cryo delusion. Captain wants to establish new rules for Natlan, and I think it concerns destroying Xbalanque's cursed system that created this cycle in the first place.

I can’t wait to see how the Natlan storyline plays out. I hope it’s a bit like Sumeru as in the way it feels like a real community. I also love the way of Chasca’s relationship with her sister, it feels kinda realistic of how siblings interact. Anyways, love the summary, I skipped through half the quest while trying to get primos.😅

The Pilgrimage has to happen more than once a year, Kachina had a lose streak of 7 (if she's like 12 then yearly competitions would mean they sent her into combat at 5 yo 💀). Also Mavuika announcing that the next competition will be postponed wouldn't have been neccessary if the next one would happen next year - the nation would be either destroyed or already saved by then. They probably happen every couple months, maybe even more often than that.
Mavuika might have also changed the rules about the Pilgrimage because Natlan just got a year before its destruction. She is trying to hurry up and get the heroes of the tribes selected already.
I forget which NPC, but someone in game said that the Pilgrimage happens on a need by need basis; higher Abyss activity means more pilgrimages and more Night Warden Wars

Natlan definitely has my favourite opening 2 acts so far out of the other regions. The capitano vs mavuika and Kachina vs Mualani easily end Sethos vs Cyno and even Clorinde Navia vs Gardemeks for me
I can't take Kachina seriously as a character. This little kid beated everyone, including 2 abyss war veterans. Also who the hell sends a kid to fight monsters?? Even Klee from the Knights of Favonius has no official combat duty and she is an *demolition expert*

During the Xbalanque quest, the ending about the dragons eye being split in two. I feel like that hints that Xbalanque had a twin. When we look at the first mural with the pryo dragon (sage) and the tree, we see two figures underneath, same size compared to the smaller ones. The only difference is one seemed to reach Divinity and the other didn’t. The other mural shows a person coming out of the dragon. So this brings me to the ending of the quest, splitting the eye in two. One was gifted resurrection, and the other was eaten by the dragon. We know later they emerged from the dragon. So first twin could be Xbalanque as the first Pyro Archon and his twin later emerges from the dragon, and sees his brother had ascended to Godhood while everyone forgetting who he is. Hint why Capitano doesn’t have an identity or people remember his heroic deeds in Natlan.
Let's think about what each element has implications with for example: Anemo-Death Cryo-Abandonment Pyro-Something to do with a father figure. Pyro characters that work well with this idea are Bennet, Diluc, Lyney, Dehya, Arlecchino and Gaming. This is pretty speculative but it fits in with the fact that Mavuika father doesn't appear with her mother as she walks through the past at the end of the Natlan archon quest so I'm still a firm beliver of the Capitano = Mavuika father theory. On a kinda unrelated note do we still think that slime theory applies to Mavuika. The pyro slime has a bunch of mini fireballs that it sends out, this could be a part of her kit, also the pyro slime has two state's ignited and unignited just like Mavuika's hair this is a close corelation between the two and it would be fun to see her in two states. Finally the pyro slime explodes on death and since Natlan is all about rebirth part of Mavuika's kit could be and ability that reduces her health but lets her die unlike other characters that deal with life consumption, once she dies she could release a big pyro attack and be revived immediately or at any random point in combat. Towards the end they literally say that, "it was the friends we made through the journey all along"... So! With Natlan here, it’s time to see if Bennett has any potential connection to this nation! Right away, I went to the People of the Springs Tribe to do their tribe quests, no spoilers about those quests is needed, because the one thing that caught my attention immediately, was the repetitive mention of luck. (Plus, Mualani and white hair, Bennett has white hair … it’d be rather crazy if they turn out to be related) Now, considering that the Wayob chose Kachina her Ancient Name because she was already worthy of it, then considering Bennett’s innate nature with luck, he’d have been born worthy of an Ancient Name connected to Luck. All Ancient Names so far have been Swahili words, and the Swahili word for Luck, is Bahati. Bahati more accurately means the chance of luck occurring. Taking a deeper look into a Swahili Word for Bad Luck, I came across the Swahili words Mbaya (Bad), and Hatari (Dangerous). Now while Bennett is without question very unlucky, we also have to acknowledge that his luck does get life threatening from time to time. With a little more to learn about Ancient Names, I currently do not know if Ancient Names are solely one word, or if there can be multiple in an Ancient Name. So to be on the safe side, if Bennett does have an Ancient Name, it’d be 1 of 3 options! Bahati (Luck), Bahati Mbaya (Bad Luck), Bahati Hatari (Dangerous Luck).
I’ve been loving natlan lore for awhile now, but I REALLY want to learn more about the night warden wars. I wanna know more about the history of it, the previous name bearers. Off topic, but I think a crocodile weekly boss would fit natlan! Crocodiles “ruled” before the dinosaurs did, so with natlan having a very ancient theme so I think that having either a basel member of the saurians or a crocodile would be pretty cool.

What I feel is that (I dont want this) Mavuika will die, given all her talks about sacrifice and having lost all her power, even the "RESERVED FUEL". in the teyvat chapter storyline video, one of the Acts in Natlan will be ODE OF RESURRECTION. So, what I think is that either Mavuika will die in battle with the abyss and be brought back yet again, or, if Capitano is somehow related to the first pyro archon, he will take on the mantle of the pyro archon, or........ they might resurrect Xabalanque himself, since he is bound to have an ancient name.
In act 2 when we first got back from the kingdom of night my immediate guess was that an irminsul change had taken place removing the objects from history in order to be able to pull the protagonists out of the kingdom of night.
I think Ororon is the champion from Masters of the Night Wind and with Capitano The ancient name bearers know and inherites and memories from the old with their names. That's why capitano said "you heard something from here didnt u"
I JUST relized that the pilgrimage to keep the Sacred Flame burning in Natlan to stave off the Abyss is a Dark Souls reference. It is literally the same as idea of kindling the First Flame against the Age of Darkness aka The Abyss.

36:20, during the natlan teaser trailer we got during 4.8, if u look closely during capitano’s scenes u can see what seems to be an outline of his face (nose). This suggests that he most likely has a physical appearance but chooses to hide it for whatever reason.
Wanted to mention that Capitano wanted to continue his fight with Mavukia but Ororon intervened with fight, Capitano did not retreat on purpose. This is told to us via the last scene of the archon quest. The Chinese translation explained it better than the English translation.
This may be a far stretch of a Theory. But I am speculating that the Wayob is related to the 'Shining Shade of Death'. Since the Night Kingdom oversees the dead. It is also possible that the Night Kingdom is a place where all souls of Teyvat meet their end. If people remember and speculate Hu Tao story quest, where she meets souls of the dead. It is not at all the land of the dead, but more of a bridge for souls to pass. It is there where she comforts souls who have lingering regrets. Each Nation of Teyvat has a bridge to the land of the dead. And it is possible that Natlan Night Kingdom is the main centre point. Though it is just my theory and speculation.
Is it possible that Xbalanque is still the Pyro Archon and not Mavuika? He did Neuvillette character intro so I'm guessing he is still sentient and not dead so supposedly, he is still the pyro archon right?

Two things that really stuck out to me about Natlan so far: -When the Captain is talking there are the end he’s got quotation marks around his name, a friend of mine said it could be someone impersonating him… maybe Columbina?😂 Also Tenoch’s story from the talking stick. I found it so neat we have enough clues to tell which tribe all the heroes from that story are from now, with the saurian boss names, and the Tupac reveal!

You mentioned that Capitano is potentially Xbalanque's brother considering the IRL lore, but I was wondering if he is instead Xbalanque himself or perhaps instead a shadow or Abyssal version of him. Like all Natlan characters, he has an aura that he has around him during his battle with Mavuika. Right now however, there's currently no proof in-game that he has Abyssal powers, but once later Acts come out, we'll see if that's actually the case. Another possibility is one that's also been theorized a lot and it's him being the Bloodstained Knight. This is supported by both his godlike strength in battle against Mavuika and his relation as a Fatui Harbinger. As we know, Pierro is the Director of the Fatui Harbingers and based on his design and what we learned in the Sumeru Interlude Inversion of Genesis, he is related to Khaenri'ah as he was a royal mage. According to Chlothar, an immortal Khaenri'ahn just like Dainsleif, he (as in Chlothar) founded the Abyss Order. And consider what Dain said in the Travail teaser where he "will defy this world with a power from beyond". And that "power from beyond" is most likely Abyssal power. Both Dain and Pierro also have the mask that they both wear on the left side of their faces. Now, how does this relate to Capitano and him being the Bloodstained Knight? Well, firstly after being part of the Knights of Favonius, the Bloodstained Knight joined the Abyss after witnessing what happened in Khaenri'ah. And while not all of the Harbingers are from Khaenri'ah or even a descendant of Khaenri'ahns, we do learn regarding those who are from Khaenri'ah or have some sort of connection to it. There is of course Pierro, but there's also Arlecchino who is a descendant of the Crimson Moon Dynasty. Now, at the moment, there's no proof that Capitano is from Khaenri'ah or a descendant considering the Bloodstained Knight's reaction to seeing Khaenri'ah. However, it's also never truly mentioned which exact region he's from. While the wiki states that the Bloodstained Knight is from Mondstadt and that he's noble-born, it's still important to note what ultimately happened with him. Prior to his journey to Khaenri'ah, as he continued to slaughter others, his sword, armor, and accessories became stained with black. And even though the Capitano uses a sort of Cryo sword, his armor is also mostly black in color, just like with the Bloodstained Knight. The Bloodstained Knight is also to have known to have been an exceptionally powerful knight who was obsessed with justice, purging evil wherever he went in his pursuit for justice. And considering that 1) Capitano is the first of the Fatui Harbingers and 2) the three highest ranked Harbingers have powers that rival gods, him potentially being the Bloodstained Knight doesn't sound too farfetched. Oh and at the end of Act 2, even though Mavuika was weakened from the battle, he chose not to take the Pyro Gnosis which means that he has some level of justice just like with the Bloodstained Knight. Sorry if this was too long, but I wanted to throw my hat into the ring.
The Capitano is Xbalanque theory no longer sticks considering we hear Xbalanque speak, in the part where Mavuika is reminiscing on the Memories you can hear the voice of the past saying "the rules are my legacy" and we all know that Xbalanque established the rules that allowed Humans to achieve Archonhood.

I was wondering too so i rewatched mika delivering the letter and it says when the captain received orders to head to natlan it was a relief they didn't have to worry about him anymore. Sadly the fact that they were travelling together for a couple months and separated when he got orders to go to natlan implies varkas destination ISN'T natlan but somewhere else right? But so far natlan has referenced mondstadt multiple times and im hoping thats preluding to a return there in a main quest or world expansion soon where he might return!

Another amazing lore recap Miss Min!! Gosh this recap made me awaken my third eye of lore once more, but rn im left with some questions: Is Bennett truly from Natlan? You did mentioned that any person in Natlan gets misfortune or cannot be protected, therefore this could be the cause of Bennett's ridiculous badluck. Is Mavuika from the tribe of the Children of Murata?? like yes they did raised two Yumkasaurs but their clothing is wayyy different that the clothing of the Scions of the Canopy I am shocked to know that Xbalanque isnt the pyro sovereign, and we did not get any info from another past archon (Murata). Capitano INDEED has to be from Natlan since he has the Nightsoul Aura! Also, for every other Harbringer we got introduced, it said their name without any "quotation marks", but with Capitano, his name has quotation marks, is he truly Capitano? Or is he just a clone made by Dottore, or perhaps its Columbina....and Another tie with him could be that he is chosen hero of the Masters of the Night Wind, it seems that the Masters of the Night Wind are helping him, but this point may be a stretch.
The blood stained knight lore for Capitano is too good to be scraped 😭 Imagine an animated short like with Arlecchino on the event that happened in Dragonspine kingdom with the princess etc.
The Wayob has different meanings for each tribe in Natlan. The Scions of Canopy believe that the Wayob to appear and guides to the kingdom of the night while the People of the Springs believe to be gradually formed from the tribes totems after the people of Natlan began communicating with the kingdom of the Lord of the night. A Saurian crowned warrior said that he fought the Wayob in a trance while practicing his skills and in doing so gained deeper understanding. The Wayob manifests as those angle like beasts in Natlan if you don't know and when you kill them, they like disappear not like the normal enemies you kill all over Teyvat.
Capitano being a human-dragon hybrid is a pretty good theory since his gloves(?) look like dragon claws and his helmet looks like an open dragon’s mouth.
There is speculation that the main archon quest last part will be in 5.3 instead of 5.2. I think there will be a time jump for 5.1s quest to 5.3s but in between in 5.2 I think we will be given a mini quest going over preparation for a fight against the abyss and Chasca will be a big part of that because she seems like that would be a good time to learn more on her. Speaking of chasca, why is no one bring up how she is adopted and before that she was raised by the dragons of her tribe and she has the elf ears. What is going on with that. What if she uses one in her burst or skill and flying is her explanation aspect. I LOVE NATLAN!!!

Like the alchemy station references the four cardinal elements, each shade seems to have created one of 4 Archons. Life-Hydro Death-Pyro Time-Wind Void-Geo
One thing I noticed, Xbalanque’s story is VERY close to that of Prometheus. They both stole fire from the gods, giving them to humans. What’s more is that Prometheus is punish by getting his liver eaten everyday, giving him a constant cycle of near deaths only to be revived after.
Also i forgot my best favorite cutscene too about Mavuika & Capitano are fighting off so good, then were lucky. Also Kinich really states than the actual traitor is him or as Ororon usually assisting him by joining him through the Captain so badly…😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

I think the Traveller's missing Pyro element has something to do with their quest with the little Saurian. It's looking like we need to go to a volcano to help the little Saurian, maybe that awakens the Traveller's pyro powers. Maybe the little red mark on the Saurian is the Traveller's pyro? Maybe helping the Saurian helps cleanse something? It was such an interesting world quest, I'm looking forward to the continuation of the baby Saurian's quest

I'm sorry for coming here late but I found interesting how you spoke about the Shining Shade of Death, as I went into a bit of rabbit hole about mesoamerican religion and mythology and found something. The Ancient Names are written in Obsidian pieces shaped like a Feather, and the Wayob are made of Obsidian. Obviously they chose Obsidian because it forms inside volcanoes, but also there is an Aztec god called Tezcatl Ipoca who is the god of Obsidian, but also... of the Night Sky, the Invisible and Conflict. He's depicted as a Jaguar with face paint and feathers on his head. Mirrors in mesoamerica used to be made of Obsidian, and it matches with the ongoing visual cues of mirrors and the Abyss which is also interesting. I wouldn't be surprised if the Ruler of the Night Kingdom is Tezcatlipoca also in Genshin, and it would be very cool if it's another name of the Shade of Death. Natlan introduced so much stuff and my god I'm learning so many things thanks to it!
I think the main reason people from Natlan suffer from symptoms like memory loss if they leave the nation is due to their reliance on the Night Kingdom. The way I'd describe the Leylines and Irminsol is essentiall as a big server that hosts all the data within Teyvat. Since peoples memories are stored in and can even be manipulated through Irminsols databank (like how Scaramouche erased himself from history), it means the brains of all people in teyvat are essentially connected to Irminsol wirelessly, with the leylines acting as routers. The people of Natlan on the other hand are an exception to this, since the Night Kingdom replaces the function of their Leylines. This is why they go to the Night Kingdom when they die and why they can be resurected. Their data is stored separately and under different conditions. If we contine with the pc allegory here, we can imagine the Night kingdom as it's own server (likely even running on a different "operating system" to Irminsol). Natlan does still have shallow Leylines, which is why Irminsol has a record on the nations history and why people from the other Nations can enter Natlan without issue. But the Night Kingdom seems to only exist within Natlan (or at least only seems to be capable of extending to broader Teyvat in a very limited capacity) and so people from the nation become unable to access its databank if they go too far away. So to summarize: people can't leave natlan cause the nation runs on linux and has shitty wifi.
Ooooooh because of the theory about siblings and such and the archon quest showing mavuika’s family, I have a theory that capitano is mavuika’s sister cause she said she’ll find a way for them to live together.
I know IRL Xbalanque has a (real) twin but I don't think that in genshin he does ! To me I'm thinking that Xbalanque and the dragon sage are supposed to be the twin equivalent of IRL Xbalanque and that the sage might be Capitano. Since the mural shows that Xbalanque and the sage wished for the 2 species to coexist (and maybe even merge), it can explain why Capitano is the strongest (out of the fatui) and why Capitano knows so much about Natlan. Also, the fact that he mentions : a promised which has yet to be fulfilled and is now "over" could be related to (if he is the sage and Xbalanque "twin") his wish of the 2 species "coexisting" or "merging". Also about the gnosis and the whole Pyro archons being humans + the little brown cuttie that "choses" us makes me think that in the end of the Natlan AQ we might either learn that the little brown cuttie is the Pyro Dragon reincarnated and we basically raised him and is our friend OR/AND we (traveler) might become the new Sovereign/Archon and keep the Gnosis which can justify/explain how we could visit the Tsaritsa since she will still need the last gnosis (which we would own). About us becoming the pyro sovereign/Archon could be why we can't have Pyro traveler as of now and why we will own an Ancient Name + are gathering throughout the Clan quest and AQ/WQ those strange materials which are of no uses for now. Anyway it's very sketchy in my brain I hope I was able to make sense 😅.

It now makes sense why Vanessa couldn't remember that she belonged to the Murata tribe. It's possible that she suffered memory loss because she left Natlan without the protection of the Wayob. The more we uncover about the lore, the more interesting it becomes.

Agreed, the lack of people keeping their memories is likely related to the lack of Leylines which is directly connected to the irminsul. I wonder if this will play a part in some sort of revelation when we find out something big that everyone just "forgot". We recently got hints with the dainslief quest on memory editing so maybe it'll be used here? Who knows but so far natlan has been such a fun place to explore.

Theory: The Ode of Resurrection is a pseudo loom of fate and is a double-edged sword for Natlan.
Mavuika mentions that Natlan's leylines are weakening which was why the abyss took more of a foothold on Natlan than other nations.
The reason why the leylines are weak is that the primal flame along with the ode of resurrection is a device created by the powers of Xbalanque, the Pyro Authority, the Gnosis and the Shade of Death, thus it can resurrect people by directly changing fate using Natlan's leylines.
The primordial flame was eating Natlan's leylines, thus weakening it, in order to change fate and resurrect warriors and keep making new human Archons. Now that the leylines are exhausted, the primordial flame is starving, the pyro Archon now has to surrender her own power to it to keep it going, and the abyss is taking over a weakened land.
Skirk says that the Gnosis and the what's left behind by the dead only bring misfortune, thus both the Wayob, the ancient names and the primordial flame are objects of misfortune for Natlan and will spell it's doom rather than save it. It's where Captain comes in, it's pretty obvious that he's deeply invested into Natlan.
He's probably a warrior of Natlan that left and lost most of his memories, there's a mention of a boy who was cursed by the sun in one of the books from 4.6 and got shunned by others. He could also be the Pyro Sovereign reincarnation like Neuvillette, using a cryo delusion. Captain wants to establish new rules for Natlan, and I think it concerns destroying Xbalanque's cursed system that created this cycle in the first place.

I also love the way of Chasca’s relationship with her sister, it feels kinda realistic of how siblings interact. The Pilgrimage has to happen more than once a year, Kachina had a lose streak of 7 (if she's like 12 then yearly competitions would mean they sent her into combat at 5 yo 💀). Also Mavuika announcing that the next competition will be postponed wouldn't have been neccessary if the next one would happen next year - the nation would be either destroyed or already saved by then. They probably happen every couple months, maybe even more often than that.
Mavuika might have also changed the rules about the Pilgrimage because Natlan just got a year before its destruction. She is trying to hurry up and get the heroes of the tribes selected already.
I forget which NPC, but someone in game said that the Pilgrimage happens on a need by need basis; higher Abyss activity means more pilgrimages and more Night Warden Wars

One thing I feel people noticed is that Mavuika is not called by a name but rather just archon or pyro archon. My theory is that she will officially ascend to godhood by celestia and get a demon name

Natlan definitely has my favourite opening 2 acts so far out of the other regions. The capitano vs mavuika and Kachina vs Mualani easily end Sethos vs Cyno and even Clorinde Navia vs Gardemeks for me

During the Xbalanque quest, the ending about the dragons eye being split in two. I feel like that hints that Xbalanque had a twin. When we look at the first mural with the pryo dragon (sage) and the tree, we see two figures underneath, same size compared to the smaller ones. The only difference is one seemed to reach Divinity and the other didn’t. The other mural shows a person coming out of the dragon. So this brings me to the ending of the quest, splitting the eye in two. One was gifted resurrection, and the other was eaten by the dragon. We know later they emerged from the dragon. So first twin could be Xbalanque as the first Pyro Archon and his twin later emerges from the dragon, and sees his brother had ascended to Godhood while everyone forgetting who he is. Hint why Capitano doesn’t have an identity or people remember his heroic deeds in Natlan.
Also consider the myth origins of Xbalanque's name, not to mention his and his twin's actions there.
lets hope you are right and xbalanque somehow gets revived and becomes playable if capitano isnt.
Let's think about what each element has implications with for example: Anemo-Death Cryo-Abandonment Pyro-Something to do with a father figure. Pyro characters that work well with this idea are Bennet, Diluc, Lyney, Dehya, Arlecchino and Gaming. This is pretty speculative but it fits in with the fact that Mavuika father doesn't appear with her mother as she walks through the past at the end of the Natlan archon quest so I'm still a firm beliver of the Capitano = Mavuika father theory.
On a kinda unrelated note do we still think that slime theory applies to Mavuika. The pyro slime has a bunch of mini fireballs that it sends out, this could be a part of her kit, also the pyro slime has two state's ignited and unignited just like Mavuika's hair this is a close corelation between the two and it would be fun to see her in two states. Finally the pyro slime explodes on death and since Natlan is all about rebirth part of Mavuika's kit could be and ability that reduces her health but lets her die unlike other characters that deal with life consumption, once she dies she could release a big pyro attack and be revived immediately or at any random point in combat.

Towards the end they literally say that, "it was the friends we made through the journey all along"... So! With Natlan here, it’s time to see if Bennett has any potential connection to this nation!
Right away, I went to the People of the Springs Tribe to do their tribe quests, no spoilers about those quests is needed, because the one thing that caught my attention immediately, was the repetitive mention of luck. (Plus, Mualani and white hair, Bennett has white hair … it’d be rather crazy if they turn out to be related)
Now, considering that the Wayob chose Kachina her Ancient Name because she was already worthy of it, then considering Bennett’s innate nature with luck, he’d have been born worthy of an Ancient Name connected to Luck.
All Ancient Names so far have been Swahili words, and the Swahili word for Luck, is Bahati. Bahati more accurately means the chance of luck occurring.
Taking a deeper look into a Swahili Word for Bad Luck, I came across the Swahili words Mbaya (Bad), and Hatari (Dangerous). Now while Bennett is without question very unlucky, we also have to acknowledge that his luck does get life threatening from time to time.
With a little more to learn about Ancient Names, I currently do not know if Ancient Names are solely one word, or if there can be multiple in an Ancient Name. So to be on the safe side, if Bennett does have an Ancient Name, it’d be 1 of 3 options!
Bahati (Luck), Bahati Mbaya (Bad Luck), Bahati Hatari (Dangerous Luck).

I’ve been loving natlan lore for awhile now, but I REALLY want to learn more about the night warden wars. I wanna know more about the history of it, the previous name bearers. Off topic, but I think a crocodile weekly boss would fit natlan! Crocodiles “ruled” before the dinosaurs did, so with natlan having a very ancient theme so I think that having either a basel member of the saurians or a crocodile would be pretty cool.

What I feel is that (I dont want this) Mavuika will die, given all her talks about sacrifice and having lost all her power, even the "RESERVED FUEL". in the teyvat chapter storyline video, one of the Acts in Natlan will be ODE OF RESURRECTION. So, what I think is that either Mavuika will die in battle with the abyss and be brought back yet again, or, if Capitano is somehow related to the first pyro archon, he will take on the mantle of the pyro archon, or........ they might resurrect Xabalanque himself, since he is bound to have an ancient name.
In act 2 when we first got back from the kingdom of night my immediate guess was that an irminsul change had taken place removing the objects from history in order to be able to pull the protagonists out of the kingdom of night.
I think Ororon is the champion from Masters of the Night Wind and with Capitano
The ancient name bearers know and inherites and memories from the old with their names. That's why capitano said "you heard something from here didnt u"
I JUST relized that the pilgrimage to keep the Sacred Flame burning in Natlan to stave off the Abyss is a Dark Souls reference. It is literally the same as idea of kindling the First Flame against the Age of Darkness aka The Abyss.

36:20, during the natlan teaser trailer we got during 4.8, if u look closely during capitano’s scenes u can see what seems to be an outline of his face (nose). This suggests that he most likely has a physical appearance but chooses to hide it for whatever reason.

Wanted to mention that Capitano wanted to continue his fight with Mavukia but Ororon intervened with fight, Capitano did not retreat on purpose. This is told to us via the last scene of the archon quest. The Chinese translation explained it better than the English translation.

This may be a far stretch of a Theory. But I am speculating that the Wayob is related to the 'Shining Shade of Death'.
Since the Night Kingdom oversees the dead.
It is also possible that the Night Kingdom is a place where all souls of Teyvat meet their end.
If people remember and speculate Hu Tao story quest, where she meets souls of the dead. It is not at all the land of the dead, but more of a bridge for souls to pass. It is there where she comforts souls who have lingering regrets.
Each Nation of Teyvat has a bridge to the land of the dead. And it is possible that Natlan Night Kingdom is the main centre point.
Though it is just my theory and speculation.
Is it possible that Xbalanque is still the Pyro Archon and not Mavuika? He did Neuvillette character intro so I'm guessing he is still sentient and not dead so supposedly, he is still the pyro archon right?
That would explain why the Traveler can't absorb the power of pyro from the statues of the seven.

Two things that really stuck out to me about Natlan so far:
-When the Captain is talking there are the end he’s got quotation marks around his name, a friend of mine said it could be someone impersonating him… maybe Columbina?😂
Also Tenoch’s story from the talking stick. I found it so neat we have enough clues to tell which tribe all the heroes from that story are from now, with the saurian boss names, and the Tupac reveal!

You mentioned that Capitano is potentially Xbalanque's brother considering the IRL lore, but I was wondering if he is instead Xbalanque himself or perhaps instead a shadow or Abyssal version of him. Like all Natlan characters, he has an aura that he has around him during his battle with Mavuika. Right now however, there's currently no proof in-game that he has Abyssal powers, but once later Acts come out, we'll see if that's actually the case.
Another possibility is one that's also been theorized a lot and it's him being the Bloodstained Knight. This is supported by both his godlike strength in battle against Mavuika and his relation as a Fatui Harbinger. As we know, Pierro is the Director of the Fatui Harbingers and based on his design and what we learned in the Sumeru Interlude Inversion of Genesis, he is related to Khaenri'ah as he was a royal mage. According to Chlothar, an immortal Khaenri'ahn just like Dainsleif, he (as in Chlothar) founded the Abyss Order. And consider what Dain said in the Travail teaser where he "will defy this world with a power from beyond". And that "power from beyond" is most likely Abyssal power. Both Dain and Pierro also have the mask that they both wear on the left side of their faces. Now, how does this relate to Capitano and him being the Bloodstained Knight? Well, firstly after being part of the Knights of Favonius, the Bloodstained Knight joined the Abyss after witnessing what happened in Khaenri'ah. And while not all of the Harbingers are from Khaenri'ah or even a descendant of Khaenri'ahns, we do learn regarding those who are from Khaenri'ah or have some sort of connection to it. There is of course Pierro, but there's also Arlecchino who is a descendant of the Crimson Moon Dynasty. Now, at the moment, there's no proof that Capitano is from Khaenri'ah or a descendant considering the Bloodstained Knight's reaction to seeing Khaenri'ah. However, it's also never truly mentioned which exact region he's from. While the wiki states that the Bloodstained Knight is from Mondstadt and that he's noble-born, it's still important to note what ultimately happened with him. Prior to his journey to Khaenri'ah, as he continued to slaughter others, his sword, armor, and accessories became stained with black. And even though the Capitano uses a sort of Cryo sword, his armor is also mostly black in color, just like with the Bloodstained Knight. The Bloodstained Knight is also to have known to have been an exceptionally powerful knight who was obsessed with justice, purging evil wherever he went in his pursuit for justice. And considering that 1) Capitano is the first of the Fatui Harbingers and 2) the three highest ranked Harbingers have powers that rival gods, him potentially being the Bloodstained Knight doesn't sound too farfetched. Oh and at the end of Act 2, even though Mavuika was weakened from the battle, he chose not to take the Pyro Gnosis which means that he has some level of justice just like with the Bloodstained Knight.
Sorry if this was too long, but I wanted to throw my hat into the ring.
The Capitano is Xbalanque theory no longer sticks considering we hear Xbalanque speak, in the part where Mavuika is reminiscing on the Memories you can hear the voice of the past saying "the rules are my legacy" and we all know that Xbalanque established the rules that allowed Humans to achieve Archonhood.

I was wondering too so i rewatched mika delivering the letter and it says when the captain received orders to head to natlan it was a relief they didn't have to worry about him anymore. Sadly the fact that they were travelling together for a couple months and separated when he got orders to go to natlan implies varkas destination ISN'T natlan but somewhere else right?
But so far natlan has referenced mondstadt multiple times and im hoping thats preluding to a return there in a main quest or world expansion soon where he might return!

I am shocked to know that Xbalanque isnt the pyro sovereign, and we did not get any info from another past archon (Murata). Capitano INDEED has to be from Natlan since he has the Nightsoul Aura! Also, for every other Harbringer we got introduced, it said their name without any "quotation marks", but with Capitano, his name has quotation marks, is he truly Capitano? Or is he just a clone made by Dottore, or perhaps its Columbina....and Another tie with him could be that he is chosen hero of the Masters of the Night Wind, it seems that the Masters of the Night Wind are helping him, but this point may be a stretch.

The blood stained knight lore for Capitano is too good to be scraped 😭 Imagine an animated short like with Arlecchino on the event that happened in Dragonspine kingdom with the princess etc.

The Wayob has different meanings for each tribe in Natlan. The Scions of Canopy believe that the Wayob to appear and guides to the kingdom of the night while the People of the Springs believe to be gradually formed from the tribes totems after the people of Natlan began communicating with the kingdom of the Lord of the night.
A Saurian crowned warrior said that he fought the Wayob in a trance while practicing his skills and in doing so gained deeper understanding.
The Wayob manifests as those angle like beasts in Natlan if you don't know and when you kill them, they like disappear not like the normal enemies you kill all over Teyvat.

There is speculation that the main archon quest last part will be in 5.3 instead of 5.2. I think there will be a time jump for 5.1s quest to 5.3s but in between in 5.2 I think we will be given a mini quest going over preparation for a fight against the abyss and Chasca will be a big part of that because she seems like that would be a good time to learn more on her. Speaking of chasca, why is no one bring up how she is adopted and before that she was raised by the dragons of her tribe and she has the elf ears. What is going on with that. What if she uses one in her burst or skill and flying is her explanation aspect. I LOVE NATLAN!!!
I hate how nonchalantly they talked about DYING in the quest 😭 when Kinich said "I have fell in battle before, but I was resurrected :D" gave me so much whiplash like WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU'VE EXPERIENCED LITERAL DEATH WTF???
Anyway in my opinion I think Mavuika is the best Archon by far taking into account what all she's done for her nation n all.

One thing I noticed, Xbalanque’s story is VERY close to that of Prometheus. They both stole fire from the gods, giving them to humans. What’s more is that Prometheus is punish by getting his liver eaten everyday, giving him a constant cycle of near deaths only to be revived after.
Also i forgot my best favorite cutscene too about Mavuika & Capitano are fighting off so good, then were lucky. Also Kinich really states than the actual traitor is him or as Ororon usually assisting him by joining him through the Captain so badly…😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

I think the Traveller's missing Pyro element has something to do with their quest with the little Saurian. It's looking like we need to go to a volcano to help the little Saurian, maybe that awakens the Traveller's pyro powers. Maybe the little red mark on the Saurian is the Traveller's pyro? Maybe helping the Saurian helps cleanse something? It was such an interesting world quest, I'm looking forward to the continuation of the baby Saurian's quest

Hmmm i dunno about Pyro Archons borrowing power from super authority or something because it was stated that once someone becomes a Pyro Archon their inner flame awakens or something, this reads to me more as something like awakening true potential of humanity rather than borrowing shade of death gassed up divine authority. the inner flame seems to be innate potential and Mavuika had such a great potential cuz dunno, she's the goat maybe

I'm sorry for coming here late but I found interesting how you spoke about the Shining Shade of Death, as I went into a bit of rabbit hole about mesoamerican religion and mythology and found something.
The Ancient Names are written in Obsidian pieces shaped like a Feather, and the Wayob are made of Obsidian. Obviously they chose Obsidian because it forms inside volcanoes, but also there is an Aztec god called Tezcatl Ipoca who is the god of Obsidian, but also... of the Night Sky, the Invisible and Conflict. He's depicted as a Jaguar with face paint and feathers on his head. Mirrors in mesoamerica used to be made of Obsidian, and it matches with the ongoing visual cues of mirrors and the Abyss which is also interesting. I wouldn't be surprised if the Ruler of the Night Kingdom is Tezcatlipoca also in Genshin, and it would be very cool if it's another name of the Shade of Death.

I think the main reason people from Natlan suffer from symptoms like memory loss if they leave the nation is due to their reliance on the Night Kingdom.
The way I'd describe the Leylines and Irminsol is essentiall as a big server that hosts all the data within Teyvat. Since peoples memories are stored in and can even be manipulated through Irminsols databank (like how Scaramouche erased himself from history), it means the brains of all people in teyvat are essentially connected to Irminsol wirelessly, with the leylines acting as routers.
The people of Natlan on the other hand are an exception to this, since the Night Kingdom replaces the function of their Leylines. This is why they go to the Night Kingdom when they die and why they can be resurected. Their data is stored separately and under different conditions.
If we contine with the pc allegory here, we can imagine the Night kingdom as it's own server (likely even running on a different "operating system" to Irminsol).
Natlan does still have shallow Leylines, which is why Irminsol has a record on the nations history and why people from the other Nations can enter Natlan without issue. But the Night Kingdom seems to only exist within Natlan (or at least only seems to be capable of extending to broader Teyvat in a very limited capacity) and so people from the nation become unable to access its databank if they go too far away.
So to summarize: people can't leave natlan cause the nation runs on linux and has shitty wifi.
So many natlan NPC are ancient name bearers. I thought only few has. Especially the people that will join Mavuika to beat the abyss
Ooooooh because of the theory about siblings and such and the archon quest showing mavuika’s family, I have a theory that capitano is mavuika’s sister cause she said she’ll find a way for them to live together.
I know IRL Xbalanque has a (real) twin but I don't think that in genshin he does !
To me I'm thinking that Xbalanque and the dragon sage are supposed to be the twin equivalent of IRL Xbalanque and that the sage might be Capitano.
Since the mural shows that Xbalanque and the sage wished for the 2 species to coexist (and maybe even merge), it can explain why Capitano is the strongest (out of the fatui) and why Capitano knows so much about Natlan.
Also, the fact that he mentions : a promised which has yet to be fulfilled and is now "over" could be related to (if he is the sage and Xbalanque "twin") his wish of the 2 species "coexisting" or "merging".
Also about the gnosis and the whole Pyro archons being humans + the little brown cuttie that "choses" us makes me think that in the end of the Natlan AQ we might either learn that the little brown cuttie is the Pyro Dragon reincarnated and we basically raised him and is our friend OR/AND we (traveler) might become the new Sovereign/Archon and keep the Gnosis which can justify/explain how we could visit the Tsaritsa since she will still need the last gnosis (which we would own).
About us becoming the pyro sovereign/Archon could be why we can't have Pyro traveler as of now and why we will own an Ancient Name + are gathering throughout the Clan quest and AQ/WQ those strange materials which are of no uses for now.
Anyway it's very sketchy in my brain I hope I was able to make sense 😅.
